CHOMBY DAY SPECIAL
Chomby's First Steps
By Party_hobbit
Eyes wide in golden gleam
To gaze across the vast expanse
Mouth a bottomless pit, t'would seem
As one lost in a trance.
Concentration furrows the brow
Bottom lip bitten with thought
As baby Chomby figures out how
His first step should be wrought.
With the slightest twitch of foot
He wrinkles up his nose
Deciding, slowly, where to put
His tiny, baby toes.
A sudden totter; a breathless gasp
His foot inches farther still
Letting the table from his grasp
He launches with a will.
Little birds may learn to fly
And little fish to swim
But none of them, at their first try
Were quite as glad as him.
With a laugh of sheer delight
He throws caution out the door
Staggers forward, beams with light
Is master of the floor.
And then, as if spiteful of his glee
Fate takes back its charms
He slips, and tumbles; but, you see
He falls straight in mother's arms.

Avast! A Pirate Chomby!
By Anjie
Wooden deck on rolling blue,
Drowned by the ocean's roar.
He hobbles on the wooden planks,
And gazes back to shore.
Rock and rumble on the waves,
The old salt heaves a sigh.
Squinting at the distant land,
A patch conceals one eye.
Oh! He loves a life at sea,
To live the pirate way.
But wooden leg and hobbled limp,
Have seemed the price to pay.
Upon Krawk Island's sordid shore,
They speak of him, the folk.
Of how he's quite the pirate myth,
A beast one shan't provoke!
His skill in battle, dagger drawn,
Thick tail swings around.
Knocking those who draw a blade,
So swiftly to the ground!
Even now, an earring gleams,
Matched by that shining sword.
A map tucked under headscarf, tight,
Of treasure he did hoard.
Lumbering, he'll scrub the deck,
And swab with soaking mop.
A life at sea, the life for him,
For nothing would he stop!
Avast, beware of Chomby rogue,
Upon the angry sea.
A glimpse of crossbones on the flag,
Take heed, set sail, flee.

The Lament of the Jelly Chomby
By Marshmallowmint
Shining glossy scales of green
Or pink or lemon or inbetween
Glittery sweetness of delight
The festive colors sheen and excite
You can look but cannot touch
For the Chomby, 'tis such a crutch
With jelly flavor and fragility
In others it issues hostility
And a great temptation, it is so
It lights the children's eyes aglow
"I only want just one little bite"
Sends the Chomby fleeing in fright
Is the only place for him in a belly?
Is there a serene place for the jelly?
And, oh, it appeared in the Neopian Times
A rumor of a place only heard of sometimes
A land of sugar and gleaming relief
Shining in wonder, releasing their grief
Peaceful and quiet to measures supreme
Things that they had only seen in a dream
And now the Chomby sits in serene repose
Under a glimmering tree as the sweet winds blow
And there are no bothers to those jelly pets here
Especially the Chomby of jelly sincere.

Chomby and the Fungus Balls
By Psychopsam
Yes Boy, Ice Cream's out of stlye,
M*YNCI's out of luck.
And any other famous band
Has run around amuck.
But one band stands much taller
Than all of the rest.
Surely you have heard of them
Because they are the best.
Chomby and the Fungus Balls
Still compose great songs.
I knew that they would be the best,
I knew that all along.
I saw them in the Concert Hall
Not many days ago.
The lead singer had such energy,
Jumping to and fro.
The background singers sounded great,
The guitarist rocked it out.
The drummer and the bassist were
The best without a doubt.
And when they waved their banner high
At the end of the show,
I knew I had to say goodbye.
It was very sad to go.
Someday I'll go see them again,
And I'll have a great time
Listening to their awesome beats
And their all-too-clever rhymes.
But until that day I have to wait,
But I know that's OK.
I will surely remember them
On good ol' Chomby Day.

All Hail the Nerds!
By Peanut02395
The others always laughed at him,
With big feet and gangly tail,
He was the Chomby make-fun-of,
His confidence was frail.
He wore large glasses on his nose,
He aced every single quiz,
But did that make the others like
The little Chomby whiz?
He always sat off by himself,
The other pets shunned him,
But all of that quite quickly changed,
At their 23 reunion.
The couples laughed, they talked and joked,
Reminiscing of those years,
And then who came through the double doors,
To the greatest of their cheer?
"It's Mr. Chomby!" someone cried,
"From Chomby and the Fungus Balls!"
The crowds grew thick as they rushed forward,
And he held up a foot to stall.
"I am as you say I am," he said,
In a voice so suave and sleek,
"But you do not recognize me, I see,
As the one you used to cheek.
"I see it, now you understand,
What horror in your eyes,
You didn't guess I could ever be cool,
Not like those other guys."
"Oh Chomby!" they cried, "Forgive us, please,
Forget what we have done!"
And Chomby smiled a little bit,
"Alright," he said. "Just once."
