GNORBU DAY SPECIAL

An Ogrin Enchantment
By Laurelinden

A city slicker he was called,
In forest made of buildings tall.
Surrounded by a steely wall,
The city, in its borders, sprawled.

But in the center of it all,
Protected by a wooden wall,
Grew a green garden winding tall
With which the Gnorbu was enthralled.

His heart, as he passed by, swelled light
Whether by day or dark of night;
Though gleamed metal and lights bright,
City beauty, next to it, was slight.

Its presence did his soul excite
Amid the crowded city site.
He wished, fists clenched with all his might,
His home could be of such delight.

And then, one day, the Gnorbu fled
Out of the city, steely dead,
Over the walls, and lived instead,
Beneath the forest's leafy spread.

A Wild Ogrin he became,
Losing money and life so tame,
The forest that he did then claim
Became his garden, heart and name.

Gnorbus Need Homes, Too
By Disintegrates

A Gnorbu is perhaps not first
On the popularity list,
Or second, third, or fourth, or fifth...
Well, anyway, you get my gist.

Its ownership is not so common,
But if you have one, you shall gain,
It has a bouncy quality,
Don't overlook that shiny mane!

Its fluffy tail is perfect to
Dust off the knicknacks that you find,
Never will you see the Gnorbu
Being selfish or unkind.

An amazing eighteen colors
Can the wondrous Gnorbu be,
Pirate, baby, starry, glowing,
Let's not forget red and green!

Acknowledging all of these traits
You'd think the Gnorbus in the Pound
Would be swept up in a heartbeat
Off with an owner, safe and sound.

No! There's hasn't been a day
(At least counting the ones I've known)
Where in the dank Adoption Center
A Gnorbu has not once been shown.

They sit there thinking very sadly,
"What exactly's wrong with me?"
While yet more potential owners
Find another Neopet randomly.

Do a favor to the Gnorbu,
To yourself and to the Pound,
Be that heroic new owner
Adopt a Gnorbu; lost and found.

The Tale of Tuan
By Anjie

Aye, there blows a magic wind,
When Tuan takes ship to sea.
His mane aloft in ocean's breeze,
It cascades, thick and free.
The Captain none would dare betray,
To mutate, not a thought.
Crew selected with such care,
When boat doth sail from port.

Aye, there's been a few mistakes,
But Tuan makes choices, wise.
Over angry waves the ship,
At his direction, flies.
Commander of a vessel, proud,
The noble Gnorbu stands.
Fate of ship and lives of crew
Are held within his hands.

Aye, it was a drama scene,
When Hoban did seem lost.
And yet the Captain sought the truth,
No matter what the cost!
Heart belongs to ocean vast,
It beats with rhythmic wave.
Restless on the driest land,
The angry sea, he'll crave.

Aye, there blows a friendly wind,
When ship drifts safely home.
Yet he yearns for salty air,
The crash of whitest foam.
Gnorbu captain pines away,
Theirs vast realms to explore!
He's anxious to get on the boat,
And head for distant shore.

Gnorbu Plushies
By Libmix

We're sitting in the window
Awaiting for the day
A loving pet comes over
And takes us home to play

We're Red, we're Green, we're Yellow
There's also little Blue
We're plushies of our idol
The adorable Gnorbu

Twinkling in the corner
Is a starry coloured toy
And over there's a Robot
Fun for every girl and boy

For when you want a cuddle
There's a plushie coloured cloud
We also come in Disco
When you feel like being loud

We're full of love and wonder
And we'll sit the whole day through
Staring out the window
Just waiting here for you

The Flying Gnorbu
By Party_hobbit

Around this time in the Neopian year
Every Gnorbu lends a listening ear
To learn words passed down through generations
Amid the Gnorbu Day celebrations!

A tale of sadness, and treachery, too
Of the singular Gnorbu that ever flew
His name was Benice, and he was tired
Of the pack-work daily for which he was hired!

A lowly job, looked down upon
And Benice felt the subtle scorn
To the depths with his pack! He cried aloud
And galloped off stormily through the crowd.

Enjoying his freedom, Benice set about
Becoming a menace; he decided to flout
The rules of the town, and so filled with the mood
He stole himself stockpiles of everyone's food!

For night and day he wandered alone
Forgetting his friends and comfy home
His fluffy beard became tattered and worn
Till at a beggar's shop it was shorn.

A fool he looked, said passers-by
But with airy freedom, Benice looked to the sky
"I've heard of faeries, lovely and light!"
And he stayed up plotting all that night.

In the morning, naught could be seen
Of where the Gnorbu's camp had been
But looking aloft, the crowd was amazed
There flew Benice in the haze!

A cheer erupted, a joyful sound
A thunderous roar that shook the ground
There flew Benice, through the sky
No Gnorbu in history had gotten that high!

"Higher, still!" whispered Benice, so vain
To the faerie that held to the tufts of his mane
"I shan't, silly Gnorbu, you're much too stout,"
And the faerie let go with an unladylike pout.

Benice fell swiftly, as large Gnorbus do
When dropped from the sky - you would have, too
The crowd that amassed
Now scattered like Faellies
(Some later pretended
They went off to their dailies).

So Benice was left to his untimely fate
So hard he fell! So much was his weight!
And now listen, small Gnorbu,
Two lessons to learn:
Shave never your mane,
And eat that which you EARN!
