You Promised Me
By chibi_zelphie
You left me all alone in the pound.
Where the Neopets who were not wanted were left.
You promised me a better life,
one of freedom... but I knew the truth.
You dumped me for another pet.
I, who had been with you since the beginning.
I, who had been trained, loved, petted and fed.
And now I am alone in the cage
as you walk away from me
never again will you look back at me.
I cry, preparing for a new owner
who may treat me better than you.
I will never forgive you.
But I will never forget your smile,
your arms, enveloping me in warmth.
And as I begin this new life,
this new quest, this new beginning,
I know in my heart,
you gave me life, you kept me safe,
and even though you leave me here, in this place,
I shall thank you for that,
although my pain envelopes me.
I thank you despite it.

The Kau's Adventure He Will Never Forget
By peppersalt14
As I lay in the stable,
Peering at the moon,
A Faerie came by,
Shouting "Get me help, SOON!"
She told me the message,
And I ran with all my might,
There was a fierce storm out,
But it was a battle I had to fight,
I shouted, I screamed,
I looked everywhere,
The rain started to pour,
There was no one there,
I thought independently,
I'd do it on my own,
It was a quest you see,
I would take it on alone,
I had to find a bottle of light,
In the depths of the trees,
In a forest called "The Darkened Night,"
It was deeper than the seas!
I made my way to the bridge,
But there were obstructions in my way,
The bridge was so very steep,
Slide down as I may,
I could fall off the edge,
As there were no barriers not even a rope
That could guide me down, I could only hope,
That I wouldn't slip,
I could hear the wind hissing,
I went to slide down,
When I saw that there were boards missing,
I took a mighty leap,
And gripped on to the wall,
With my jagged hoofs,
And prayed that I wouldn't fall,
As I got to the top,
I saw the "The Darkened Night,"
I thought of how dark it really was,
When I saw a dim light,
"THAT'S IT!" I cried, as I remembered the Quest,
"Found it" I whispered, "I'll just have a little rest,"
When all of a sudden,
A bolt of lighting hit me,
"I'm alive, but how could that be?"
I looked at myself in the river,
I was an electric Kau,
I felt stronger too, but I also felt sore,
I ran into the forest, I felt a lot better,
I slipped the bottle of light in my mouth,
When I saw a letter,
It was from the Earth Faerie,
It was stuck on the base,
"Whom ever finds this bottle of light, thank you,
I always stick this note on the bottom,
I only have a few,
Undo the top, and tip it over,
Don't worry, the light won't fall out, it has a cover,
And whatever falls out, use it,
And I will be there in a minute."
So I did what she said,
And out fell a blow horn,
I blew the whistle,
And out of the dawn, came an Earth Faerie,
"You have found my light" she said laughing,
"That's all well and good," I moaned,
"...but I'm starving!"
"Then you will have a feast," she declared,
"As you have done your part."
So I had my feast
And asked "How will I get home?"
Finishing off my tart,
"Close your eyes, and count to three,"
So I did just that, I opened my eyes,
I was under a tree,
Right by my stable, "Thank you" I heard,
As I drifted into a deep sleep,
It was the Faerie, "you kept your word."
