Faerie Watching By osanainingyou

We are crouched in the bushes
There is laughing nearby
Air Faeries play in the clouds
Chasing each other
Having fun for a while
We have no bottle
Should we need one?
No, they're having too much fun

But then someone comes
Another person
With an Aisha
And a Kacheek
And a backpack full of glass bottles
I leap out
My little Usul follows me
"No!" my Usul, Jinzoningen, calls out
So do I:
"Don't do this!"
The person turns
Eyebrows drawing down
She gestures
The Aisha steps forward and bares his teeth
Keeping us from interfering

The Faeries shriek
Some run away
Some hide in the clouds
Neither of us are fighters
We can't battle this Aisha
So we stay
Tears drop on the ground
As some Faeries are put in bottles
But they were having so much fun
When the other girl and her pets leave
We sneak along behind silently
Jinzoningen's read many books
She can pick pockets

At night when the girl
And her pets are asleep
My little Usul sneaks up
Opens the backpack
And takes all the bottles
I open them up to let the Faeries out
They smile and thank me
And fly up into the sky
They are free.

You Promised Me By chibi_zelphie

You left me all alone in the pound.
Where the Neopets who were not wanted were left.
You promised me a better life,
one of freedom... but I knew the truth.
You dumped me for another pet.
I, who had been with you since the beginning.
I, who had been trained, loved, petted and fed.
And now I am alone in the cage
as you walk away from me
never again will you look back at me.
I cry, preparing for a new owner
who may treat me better than you.
I will never forgive you.
But I will never forget your smile,
your arms, enveloping me in warmth.
And as I begin this new life,
this new quest, this new beginning,
I know in my heart,
you gave me life, you kept me safe,
and even though you leave me here, in this place,
I shall thank you for that,
although my pain envelopes me.
I thank you despite it.

Bliss By maplestarre

the sun awakens.
light touches my fur.
I feel warm and alive
full of spirit.
i had bad times once
in the pound
cold
hungry
i waited
and waited
and waited
for someone to bring me home.
and oh the bliss
and the joy i felt
i had the energy
to laugh
i sang out loud
to the birds in the trees.
i sang my little song to the world.
my song of me.
"Once I was cold
and terrified.
Once I was hardly me!
But i am a healthy Poogle
healthy now, and free!"
I love being free of the pound
i love the air
and the clean grass.
i love the way the wind ripples my fur.
this is bliss, i think.
bliss is so wonderful
that i am as happy
as it is possible to be.

"Maybe You Didn't Notice Me..." By raedee

Maybe you didn’t notice me at first,
My little Korbat,
Standing at the sidelines of the Battledome
With my hands in the air
Cheering for you and all that you cared for
All of your dreams, your ambitions
All the little stars you wished
To place in the skies of time
The missing pieces of every puzzle
I’ve tried to hand to you
Sometimes I found the wrong piece
And you were silent and angry for awhile
Other times, I tried to comfort
Instead of giving it easy
And everything didn’t always work out
But I was there if you ever needed me
I guess that you thought
You were old enough for everything
By the time I first said
That you didn’t need me to buy your food
You already had big dreams
Of marching off and conquering Neopia
And you figured that you always
Had to walk that road alone
I listened to you, and then secretly spied on you
Until I was satisfied
That you’d be okay in that big world
Just call me paranoid, or just call me a pet owner
You’d get mad,
Saying nothing would happen if this went wrong
You said I wouldn’t take a chance
At anything anymore
I wanted to tell you,
That maybe I was worried because
If I lost you because I was too relaxed,
I couldn’t stand it

The Kau's Adventure He Will Never Forget By peppersalt14

As I lay in the stable,
Peering at the moon,
A Faerie came by,
Shouting "Get me help, SOON!"
She told me the message,
And I ran with all my might,
There was a fierce storm out,
But it was a battle I had to fight,
I shouted, I screamed,
I looked everywhere,
The rain started to pour,
There was no one there,
I thought independently,
I'd do it on my own,
It was a quest you see,
I would take it on alone,
I had to find a bottle of light,
In the depths of the trees,
In a forest called "The Darkened Night,"
It was deeper than the seas!
I made my way to the bridge,
But there were obstructions in my way,
The bridge was so very steep,
Slide down as I may,
I could fall off the edge,
As there were no barriers not even a rope
That could guide me down, I could only hope,
That I wouldn't slip,
I could hear the wind hissing,
I went to slide down,
When I saw that there were boards missing,
I took a mighty leap,
And gripped on to the wall,
With my jagged hoofs,
And prayed that I wouldn't fall,
As I got to the top,
I saw the "The Darkened Night,"
I thought of how dark it really was,
When I saw a dim light,
"THAT'S IT!" I cried, as I remembered the Quest,
"Found it" I whispered, "I'll just have a little rest,"
When all of a sudden,
A bolt of lighting hit me,
"I'm alive, but how could that be?" I looked at myself in the river,
I was an electric Kau,
I felt stronger too, but I also felt sore,
I ran into the forest, I felt a lot better,
I slipped the bottle of light in my mouth,
When I saw a letter,
It was from the Earth Faerie,
It was stuck on the base,
"Whom ever finds this bottle of light, thank you,
I always stick this note on the bottom,
I only have a few,
Undo the top, and tip it over,
Don't worry, the light won't fall out, it has a cover,
And whatever falls out, use it,
And I will be there in a minute."
So I did what she said,
And out fell a blow horn,
I blew the whistle,
And out of the dawn, came an Earth Faerie,
"You have found my light" she said laughing,
"That's all well and good," I moaned,
"...but I'm starving!"
"Then you will have a feast," she declared,
"As you have done your part."
So I had my feast
And asked "How will I get home?"
Finishing off my tart,
"Close your eyes, and count to three,"
So I did just that, I opened my eyes,
I was under a tree,
Right by my stable, "Thank you" I heard,
As I drifted into a deep sleep,
It was the Faerie, "you kept your word."
