A Pteri's Flight

On a glittering sunlit Autumn day,
A lone Pteri makes her way;
Soaring over fields and past burnished leaves,
To her heart a blissful memory cleaves.

The breeze so gentle it caresses her wings,
A soft sweet scent, the blossoms do bring.
She pauses to rest by a well sheltered pond,
With the glittering surroundings
She makes a true bond.

The sounds from her fellow species do reign,
Their joyful music drifts to each windowpane;
Singing aloud their appreciation for Fall,
Only the lucky will hear their melodic call.

The freedom fills her heart
With unabashed peace,
She wishes that Autumn had an unending lease.
This season so ripe with brilliance and colour,
No Pteri could possibly not yearn to flutter.

Making the most of a swift season's fashion,
Has this Pteri flying with grace and with passion.
Not one panoramic sight goes unseen,
And every Pteri knows what a gift truly means.

The Golden Pteri

With a twinkle in his eye
He spreads his wings and flies away
Over the hills and mountain tops
Where the softest clouds lay

Those luxurious feathers of gold
Shuffles with the passing wind
He flies to Faerieland
To Lost Desert
To Mystery Island
To the ends of Neopia

He watches over all the Pteris
And sends them his blessings
Whether day or night
Night or day
He tirelessly fly

For he is the Golden Pteri
Protector of the skies

Faerie Pteri's First Flight

First venture from secure nest,
The earth so far below.
The breezes sway and catch the leaves,
They twirl within it's flow.

A small wing stretched, the feathers spanned,
In shades of gold and pink.
Her form must learn to dance the breeze,
Or down to earth, she'll sink!

So nervous, scared, and so unsure..
She glances back in fear,
This first flight seeming so far fetched,
So soon, the time is near.

She giggles as the playful winds,
Do whisper "You must try!"
Each little claw grips branch so tight,
Gaze wanders to the sky.

A sharp inhale, she launches up!
She panics, and she flails,
Then balance found, she climbs the skies,
On cotton clouds she sails.

She skips along the open breeze,
And darts by each tall tree.
Those feathers shimmer in the sun,
She flies, so very free.

Pterattack

The perfect day was planned just right
For Pteris and owners too.
The air was fresh, the sun was bright -
Weather forecast was quite true.

Voices yelled: "Hooray! Hooray!"
The songs of Pteris began.
"Let's come out and enjoy the day!"
Pteris out from houses ran.

"To the great birds, I shall drink,"
Old Kyruggi did declare.
"And I promise there will be no kink
To your fun parties, friends fair."

Cheers rose within the crowd
Of ecstatic bird-like creatures.
The celebrations were so loud
They did not hear other features.

However, one smart feathered-one did
Listen and heed his instinct.
He walked over to the trash lid
And almost made Pteris extinct!

This clever little young Pteri, green,
Had found Grarrl's hidey-hole
The beast roared out, "You're very mean!"
And tried to eat the him whole.

No doubt in shock, the Pteri fled
But gave his mates no warning.
A few saw him, and away he led
Them to fly until next morning.

Meanwhile, though, behind the troop
Tyrannians were troubled.
Saber-X, Warrior Lupe
Had to halt the mischief bubbled.

He did successfully do so,
But villages were trampled.
And for the Pteris on the go
A plan the green one sampled.

Unfortunately, the Grarrl had
Friends called Pterodactyls.
They too, ate pals of the lad
But he, smartly, hid in mills.

He found he could use lots of objects
As his ammunition.
Hoping, the Pteri ejected
His ammo with precision.

The Pteris we all see today
Are all descendants of him.
His boldness, his courage at bay,
His wisdom filled to the brim.

That was so many years ago
I'm just having a flashback.
But today, this game we know
As the famous Pterattack.
