GRARRL DAY SPECIAL

Terror of the Seas
By Reanim8d

With hungry jaws he roams the seas,
Churns angry water as he glides,
For delicacies rare he seeks,
That under ocean waves reside.

His teeth grind eager at the scent
Of nearby close unwitting prey;
A Kelpflake, it appears, shall make
A meal for this Grarrl today.

He towards his quarry darts with speed,
This terror of Maraquan sea,
Teeth promptly snap -- and thus his meal
Devours he with grim accuracy.

Away he swims, his hunger eased,
Towards haven quiet now departs;
The ruthless king of ocean deeps,
Uncommon dread to each imparts.

So reader, heed the warnings clear,
Beware this hunter of the waves,
For those this Grarrl has chanced to meet,
Have swiftly passed to watery grave.

Gladiator
By Numbertwelve

Eyes ablaze; sword in hand,
Mouth gaping wide, roaring proud,
Teeth like saws serrated edge,
Armour gleaming; shield ready.

Into arena storms the Grarrl,
Corded muscles flexing,
Each stride made with pride,
Calm and deadly; ready for battle.

Opponents know but one thing,
Defeat at his hands is assured,
With sword -- razor sharp,
And skills -- even sharper.

The battle commences,
The crowd roars loud,
His opponent falls,
And still the Grarrl stands proud.

He roars one final time,
Standing tall, taking in another victory.
This warrior is fear given form,
No one wishes to face him,
And truly, who can blame them?

Battle of the Grarrls
By Scerverosica

Roaming on the sun drenched plains,
Pounding footsteps sound again,
Marching on to fight 'til death,
Never coming short of breath.
Under this Tyrannian sun,
Beating down as on they run,
Clear as crystal in the distance,
Seeing the opposed resistance.
Drawing swords and spears they cry,
On towards them now they fly,
Enemies at war they are,
Fight 'til shines the northern star.
Claws of bone slash others skin,
Teeth of Grarrls pierce deep within,
Fighting strong and standing tall,
Never will our army fall.
Tyrannia's safe in their hands
As the battle in the sands,
Victory our Grarrls will gain
Even though they feel this pain.
Battered, bruised, and in despair,
Stopping quick to gasp for air,
Tired and fatigued they lie,
But winning they joyfully sigh.
A sound of cheering fills the skies
As they pronounce their foes' demise,
Once again we'll sleep in peace
Knowing that the war has ceased.

Grarrls of Pterattack
By Laurelinden

Little Pteri, flit your blurring wings!
Weave through Pterodactyls in your path;
Go forth, where no light shines and no birds sing,
Else face the cruel Grarrl's hungry wrath...
Through ever-winding ways must fly and fight
Weariness heavy-hanging on your tail;
Hoping, perhaps, that at next fork or turn
There will be an end -- but to no avail;
Darkness fore and aft, black untouched by light,
Wishful Pteri, will you never learn?

Those patient Grarrls can ever follow you,
Deep in the waiting shadows at your back;
The wish that spurrs you on cannot be true;
There is no waiting light 'mid sea of black.
Yet fly on, little bird, though your hope be blind,
Fly on, though you can never beat the game;
Fly till feathers fringe and wings go lame--
A breath before the hungry gaping maws;
For if you do not fly, what waits in kind
But to fall back into the Grarrl's great jaws?

A Grarrl's Delight
By Leveret

Finicky pets like their custard rare,
Their omelettes bought and sandwiches wrapped.
Trifles and souffles are too good to share,
And after they eat, they usually nap.

Long hours spent at factory doors,
Gazing through windows at mountains of treats.
Waiting for new stock to sell in the stores,
Hunting for discounts on cakes and sweetmeats.

Breaking the bank and sorting through pockets
To impress the snobs at the Gourmet Club.
Gingerbread shaped like Kreludan rockets,
Hauling home bags and cookie dough tubs.

But not all creatures are candy fans;
Some are easily satisfied.
Tombola junk like peas in cans
Sound much better than suwek fried.

At least that's what a normal Grarrl thinks
When asked what he wants to have for dinner.
Old left boots and dandelion drink
Guarantee that a pet will soon become thinner.

So clear out your Safety Deposit Box;
You'll leave your Grarrl full and happy for more.
Sugar and chocolate will make teeth rot –-
And a Grarrl doesn't want his mouth to be sore.
