DRAIK DAY SPECIAL

Escape from Meridell Castle
By Really_awesome_d00d

A sword and wits are all he bears.
Escape and freedom's all he cares.
Innocent, yet locked away,
In prison he does not wish to stay.

Fighting, hacking, with his blade
Dodging guards, hiding in shade,
Valrigard fights for his freedom.
No traitor is he to his kingdom.

Slash! Hack!
A Grarrl thunders back,
And stumbles to the cold stone floor.
Whoosh! Swish!
Another, by the blade is quelled,
Valrigard's no stranger to the fore.

The Draik swoops in unsplit night,
A hunt for liberty, a freedom fight,
He'll fight until the very end
Without success, without a friend.

Draik Tales
By Numbertwelve

On upward draft the Draiks they rise,
All haunting shadows in distant skies,
With massive wings -- gravity defies,
A Draik -- a much sought after prize.

With scales of hues of green and gold,
You hear of them in legends told,
These tales some new and some so old
Of Draiks so fearless and so bold.

Tales of Valrigard's dangerous quest,
A Draik that most do know the best,
And Talek who fought during Maraqua's unrest,
With Maractite armour strapped 'cross his chest.

But not all Draiks align with light,
Some follow paths of dark and blight,
And if caught in such a creature's sight,
Within will well feelings of terrible fright.

These dark tales are neither here nor there,
So of them I will your ears spare,
For in the reverie of Draik Day we share,
Go out and celebrate... but do take care!

Draik Sentinel
By Songful

When piercing cold devours all
And shadows twist and heave;
Though berserk wind will rampage on
His place he will not leave.

Through driving rain and opaque fog
His vigil he holds still;
For though windstorm will loudly roar
His part he must fulfill.

And though his task remains the same
His heart is loyal yet;
To watch for danger is his job
And warn of looming threat.

Atop a pillar he stands proud
From perch on castle peak;
But often he comes to wonder why
The others will not speak.

Valrigard
By Reanim8d

Valrigard, the Wanderer --
Once respected, once esteemed,
A citizen of Meridell,
Now a common criminal deemed.

Valrigard, the Convict --
Forbidden to offer an alibi,
Condemned for crimes that ne'er existed,
Thrown into prison, abandoned to die.

Valrigard, the Prisoner --
Armed with but a rusty blade,
Maneuvering through dungeon halls,
Swiftly as a passing shade.

Valrigard, the Avenger --
Seeks an exodus from his jail,
Quests for one he knows betrayed him;
Trusts that justice will prevail.

Dark Draik
By Superhydroyeast

A disturbance in the midst
Of the twilight's white mist,
It flies with a turn,
A flip and a twist
It punches through walls
So dark is its fist,
And the once golden chain
Now black on its wrist.
It searches by night
Without need of light,
The sight of it drains you,
Frozen by fright.
It lunges twards you,
You dive out of sight,
But its mind is too quiet
And you it will smite,
Its terrible power,
Us it shall devour,
Tonight it is coming
In the winter night's shower.
The shadows still hide it,
Your taste has turned sour,
Your time has run out,
And now is the hour.
It darts and you shake,
You shiver and you make
A run for the door
For your own life's sake,
But no it's not over,
Your life it will take,
The end will come now
At the hands of Dark Draik.
