The Adoption Center By Glenn Brynes

As I wander about on the blustery, cold day,
I see the Adoption Center.
Small faces,
Pressed against pane glass.
Their soft eyes pleading.
Pleading to be freed of their lonely prison.
I freeze.
But not because of the cold outside.
I see the mistreated, abused.
The poor, the unwanted.
Their drooping ears and tails tell their stories:
"They didn't want me."
"Now look where I am."
"I need a home."
Tears trickle down every face.
I cannot escape their unwavering, miserable gazes.
"Take me home."
"I could be yours. Forever."
"Don't walk away."
I look in my pocket.
Just enough.
I briskly walk in.
"That one", I say,
Pointing at a cold, shivering creature.
"That's the one."
The unchosen animals droop their heads.
In misery.
In silent, unspoken misery. I quickly lead my new pet out.
To get away.
Away from the poor faces.
Away from the guilt their expressions of sorrow bring me.
"Why couldn't you have picked me?"
"I knew she wouldn't pick me."
But, as I walk home,
Cuddling my newly aquired pet close to me,
I smile.
Through the frigid air, I smile.
Knowing that there will be other people
Who will care for the others,
But right now my new pet needs me.
And I know we will be together till the end of time.

I am not a Poet By Brandi

I'd really like to write a poem,
But can't find anything to write.
My mind is blank, I do not know.
There is nothing good in sight.
So I'll write about what I can't think of.
Or can't seem to get to rhyme.
This is beginning to get tough.
There is something I just realized.
I just wrote a real, rhyming poem.
And I didn't even know it!
And now everybody will know
That I am just not a poet!

Winged fantasy By Mewtwo of metropolis

Who is that faerie
With purple and lavender wings?
She seems able to bless
With all kinds of things!

Petite and swift,
On the wind does she drift,
A winged fantasy!

She leans in close to the tiny pet,
Nightvision's what she does say.
A Peophin was gifted
By a Dark Faerie today.

There's a bump in the night,
Darkness gives way to light,
She's a winged fantasy!

A golden crown upon her head,
Purple hair blown in the breeze,
Lovely is the faerie queen,
Soaring above the trees.

Don't Sacrifice! by Ron & Barb Barton

Monster Boy got sacrificed
He got it in the gizard
So in payback to us all
He's knocked off our shop wizard.

It's looking bad for Styro Bob
But he can be a meanie
If we all vote Bob to go
He'll zap away the genie.

Let's be nice to Neopets

And pick on the great Coconut
Then Monster Boy will be returned
And we'll all be out of this rut!
