The Maraquan Shoyru

The Maraquan Shoyru is a curious thing,
It gains a shell and lacks its wings.
On land it moves quite gracelessly,
But can truly fly down under the sea.

When diving down, perhaps you've seen,
Amid the coral, a hint of green.
A flip of a fin to say how do you do,
And a stream of bubbles as it passes through.

Safe from any dangers that may roam,
The Shoyru's shell is its moveable home.
With its mottled, brownish tones,
The Shoyru can hide in a pile of stones.

Maybe you've glimpsed one in the sand,
When it has ventured on to dry land,
After a long day of watery fun,
They love to slumber in the sun.

The Maraquan Shoyru is a beautiful thing,
With its smooth shell instead of wings,
Take a trip to Maraqua, and perhaps you'll see,
These gentle creatures of the sea.

The moonlight splashes
Silver upon smooth rooftops,
Lighting shifty forms.

Dark eyes glint � midnight
Says the clock chiming far off;
The hour of thieves.

Armed well, dangerous,
These figures creep silently,
Sure in their movements.

Torshac is prepared�
He takes out slender object
From his heavy pack.

Moon touches object,
And bathed in silver brightness
It flashes to life.

The thieves have no chance;
Blind, trapped in moonlight, helpless,
They cannot flee him.

Again he has brought
Criminals to their justice,
And saved us from thieves.

Torshac, our hero,
Triumphant from the shadows,
Silent as moonlight.

Flight of the Island Shoyru

With wings a brilliant green
Like the lush tropical grass,
An island Shoyru takes to the sky,
Stealthily, silently, without a fuss.

Over sandy beaches he glides,
Savoring warm salty air,
Spreading his wings proudly,
Without a single care.

From above he gazes, amazed,
At the boiling Techo mount,
As palm trees wave lazily
To the slow drifting clouds.

He spots some friends leaving
The Island Mystic confused,
Scratching their heads bewildered
By incomprehensible fortune.

Thirsty from the journey,
He grabs a huge coconut,
Just as it falls speedily
From a large ripening bunch.

Sipping the refreshment,
While circling Mystery Island,
This Shoyru admires his home
With amusement and affection.
