The Players of Cheat!
By Griffiane

Capara the Kyrii may have feminine wiles,
But I can see through all her guiles.
She can't fool me,
I've got four threes!
I beat her in marvelous style.

Little Timmy thinks he's so great,
He puts down a bunch of eights.
I call his bluff,
Now he's not so tough!
Beaten and in a helpless state.

Branston the Eyrie is the king of the floor,
But I think I know just a little bit more.
I see through his charm,
And sound the alarm!
Now he won't soon be back for more.

Of subtlety, Chuffer Bob has short supply,
When he gets a good hand, he really can't lie.
His tail will twitch
Like he's having a fit,
And when he loses he starts to cry.

Brucey B has a coin of luck,
But apparently on "lose" that coin is stuck.
He can't win a hand,
And from where I stand,
That unlucky coin he ought to chuck.

Kalora the Kau isn't too bright,
She calls "Cheat!" at every turn in sight;
It's a bit of help
To have her yelp,
For then I can play any card that I like.

Princess Fernypoo is spoiled and rich,
Class embedded in every stitch.
She threatens and pleads,
But I catch up on her leads,
I then take her out without a hitch!

My next opponent -- Agent OO Hog,
A Moehog who thinks he's cool and suave.
I burst his bubble,
Free from trouble,
He's really no more smart than a log.

And then it's the boss, the ruler of Cheat!
A Jetsam called Spectre who is the elite.
We play for the day,
As I hope and pray
That this master I'm able to beat!

After more rounds of Cheat!
Than I'm able to stand,
At last I am able to clear out my hand.
Spectre is beaten!
I'm the queen of the region!
And the feeling is really quite grand.

Beauty Turned Evil
By Knexor2

Power was mine,
With beauty galore,
I got what I wanted,
'Til I wanted no more.

But two things I lacked,
Others found with a start,
One was a mirror,
The other, a heart.

In spite of my beauty,
I had no compassion,
Instead of a heart,
I had only fashion.

And, as to mirrors,
Why should one I own?
I knew my own beauty
Without being shown.

But one day came a package,
It caused others much fuss,
For the return address
Was labeled simply "Morguss."

I took it home,
Though they spoke against it,
I opened the box,
And my teeth I had to grit.

In the box was a mirror,
And when I looked, I could see,
Not my powerful beauty,
But my heart's intense greed.

And I saw, not makeup,
But my lack of kindness,
A heart devoid of feeling,
Of others it was careless.

My beauty was gone,
And the mirror had shown,
That what I hid on the inside
Had swiftly grown.

Beautiful no longer,
Others could see,
The terrible evil
That was in me.

Under the Mountain
By Relientkgirl03

Long housed in the Ice Caves so vast,
Unknown to us all, found at last,
A treasure, a gem,
Sought after by THEM:
The thieves with a shadowy past.

But Hannah and Armin won't fail,
Though under uncertainty's veil.
They know what is right,
The Heart they'll unite,
And over the thieves they'll prevail.

The Keeper to Hannah has told
A secret -- now she must be bold
To fight her way through,
And the Bori renew
From ice and their prison so cold.

Of Kanrik we still have some doubt.
Does he really wish to help out?
Or maybe he'll turn,
And never shall learn
Of joy that a friendship can sprout.

The one thing for certain we know
Is someone will triumph and show,
That power and might
Can be used, wrong or right,
And either build up or bring low.

A Grey, Grey Faerie
By Elfy_gal_103

The night sky darkens,
The winds start to roar,
And I see a grey faerie,
And wish to see no more.

Her tattered dress and broken wings
Attract more sadness than most other things;
Her gloomy eyes are like snow-filled skies,
Her appearance brings tears to Neopets' eyes.

On the outside she's quiet,
Self-conscious, in despair,
But inside she screams,
Without one single care.

On the inside she feels the need to soar,
But her sadness causes her to walk
Forevermore.

Mistress of the Doublecross
By Battlesunn

Masila, oh Masila,
What's your carrot? What's the stick?
Treasure's all you care for,
Yet you claim to love Kanrik.

But is that really truthful?
What's he worth to you?
You've poisoned and betrayed him;
You lied to Galem, too.

Just who are you working for?
Are your morals all ignored?
Is there anything too low for you,
Any behavior you abhor?

Just how far will you go
To gain the money that you seek?
You've shown no discretion
With treachery, lies and deceit.

Now your love has left you,
But to you it's no great loss.
He was just another stepping stone
For the mistress of the doublecross.
