Adventures of Cellblock
By Ecfadorx89

As I ventured around the Neopian World,
My eyes caught something yet not unfurled.
In the dungeons of Darigan, there he was,
A Mynci who deserved no applause!

He goes by the name of Master Vex,
Inventor of a game, oh so complex!
Word goes around that he is unbeatable,
But I say, "Nothing can be repeatable."

I take my seat and request a match,
My heart beats as I hear a scratch!
I turn my head, look to the left,
And see my opponent approach in fear bereft!

Now the game has begun,
But at first it is not fun.
I struggle, sputter, and sweat,
For this made me feel much regret!

The outcome was not looking good,
It was something I could not have understood.
Matching these pieces was such a struggle,
But I looked and began to juggle!

What happiness, what joy;
I had a chance, it was to destroy!
For I had found a chance, some hope,
Like my only survival on a thin rope!

Four in a row was what I had,
And this made me very glad!
My opponent was found, stuck indeed,
But with pain he still had to proceed!

Now that I earned victory, I stood up high,
Held up my trophy and waved a goodbye!

The Return Of Sloth?
By Stariell

Once the greatest of Neopia's foes,
Feared ruler of an army of vast Grundos,
His minions fought without any true bravery,
Sloth ruled through cruelty, science, and drudgery.

Proving just how hard the mighty fall,
By the Space Faerie he was made to crawl.
We thought this villain would never return,
But it seems some people never learn...

The Happiness Faerie has familiar eyes...
Could she be Sloth in a different guise?
Defeated once by a faerie, of all things,
Has he now started wearing magical wings?

Although my fears could be without cause,
Perhaps this new faerie does deserve applause,
But unless Frank Sloth has a secret twin...
I would be wary of that merry grin.

Battledome
By Reoko258

Take up your shields,
Your sword in hand.
Sweet victory
Will soon be at hand.
A fierce attack
At the opposing one,
And this battle
Will soon be done.
Think not of defeat,
Only of the prize,
A sweet trophy,
And a dose of pride.
So gather your potions,
Your items and such,
Because for a victory,
This isn't too much.

Cheater!
By Jupeboxgal

A furtive glance across the table
Brings Capara no rewards.
She runs her finger slowly over
Her terrible hand of cards.

Picking two that aren't TOO far off,
She says with a poker face,
"Two Queens," hoping that her bluff works,
Hoping nothing's out of place.

Brucey glances at her sideways,
Then his gaze to his cards returns.
He himself holds only two Queens,
Oh, for truth he deeply yearns!

Chuffer Bob, Kalora Kau--
Either hand has but one Queen.
Neither one would care to doubt her;
If a lie, 'twill ne'er be seen.

Sighing deeply, Brucey wonders
If he made a decent choice;
"Two Queens," he repeats the phrase,
And the Kyrii will rejoice...

Once Kalora and then Chuffer
Stare at Brucey's trembling fin;
Once the Meerca calls out, "Cheat!"
Brucey B. begins to grin.

First with surprise, and then with anger,
Chuffer takes the bulging pile.
Brucey smirks, Kalora sweats,
Capara simply sweetly smiles.

Soon the game of Cheat! is over,
With Capara the victor made,
And she thanks her lucky stars
That from a four came a Queen of Spade.

Tombola
By Bounce257

"Come up! Come up!"
Says the Tombola Man,
With his straw mask, colorful shirt,
And flimsy palm fan.
"Try your luck, you could win a prize!"
The man yells out,
With a twinkle in his eyes.
Neopets come up, eager for the fun.
"Tombola Man, Tombola Man!" they cry,
"I'll have one!"
The Tombola Man hands tickets out.
As a Shoyru wins,
He lets out a shout.
"I've won, I've won!" he cries out with glee,
"A codestone, some eye candy,
And Neopoints - a hundred and three!"
The other Neopets have tears in their eyes,
But the old Tombola Man is very wise,
And he tells the Neopets not to have woe,
For next time it could be them, too!
