Is he a good man or a madman?
Slipping deeper
Into consuming insanity,
Or taking his last stand?
There is such a fine line
Drawn between the two,
That he has lost his way.
His haunting obsession drowning him
Further into endless dismay.

Once he walked the road less traveled,
Striving for his dreams,
Reaching the impossible,
Proving nothing is quite what it seems.
Dedicating his work
To solving life's enigmas,
Only to become one;
His truths shrouded in the unknown,
When all is said and done.

He lived for the moment,
But that moment has now vanished;
His ambitions scattered
Along the chilled winds,
All of his hopes banished.
Foul poison has tore into his mind,
And slowly drives him insane;
Can a cure be found
For his agonizing pain?

His scars are only
Haunting ghosts that plague him,
Haunting him with utter despair.
Vengeful spite driving him to torture
Those entering his forbidden castle
On a foolish dare.
Hatred and fear are cast at him
Like accusing stones,
The night masking
The tormented sorrow
Of truly being alone.

Was it his destiny to fall victim
To this masquerade?
Or is it simply the curse of Eliv Thade?

The Treasure of the Snowager

One dark night, in an icy cave,
My Eyrie and I felt very brave.
We remembered a story told,
Treasure of our dreams,
And then tenfold.

As we proceeded, we felt trouble major,
Ending in none other
Than the Snowager.
We knew the danger that lurked ahead,
And I wanted nothing else but my bed,
But on we pushed,
For the temptation was high,
And who could resist
Treasure piled to the sky?

As we rounded that last turn,
I felt my stomach knot and churn;
In the chamber -- oh, what a sight!
Made my insides cold,
And freeze with fright,
But sleeping, this huge worm lay,
And as my Eyrie moved,
I stood and hoped.

On the Eyrie moved around behind,
And I could see what was on his mind--
A treasure pile too big to resist,
Before I knew it, was in his fist.

Then run we did from that cold place;
Never will I forget that frozen face.
My Eyrie took the treasure
To the Battledome,
And I have never been more thankful
To be back home.

Retired Avatars

Those fleeting collectibles
of which we all boast,
are the avatars now retired,
the avs we love the most.

I saved Mystery Island!
That was a grand feat,
which earned a colorful av,
that tells all I meet.

What about the Valentine Chia?
That av is one of a kind!
An avatar shaped like a heart
is now an impossible find.

The day Sloth took over,
I was in his mind-control lab,
and I answered some questions,
so a new av I could nab.

Since they're now retired,
some great avs I can no longer get.
Sadly, the cool wizard av
will never be part of my set.

Though there may just be a handful,
we will always crave more
of those temporary avs,
which all collectors adore.

The Island Mystic

Where does this mysterious mystic
Find his inspiration,
For those little sayings he has,
That leave us baffled and wondering,
"What?"

With questions filling us up to the top,
We come back again the next day,
And what do we find, you ask?
Another baffling sentence of wisdom,
Or so he says.

Our minds so full of questions,
We return day after day.
All Neopets await
At the hut of the Island Mystic,
Await understanding.
Is it all for naught?
Do we wait here for nothing?
It seems so...
I guess we should ask him.
