Skeith Day

I know a species by the name of Skeith;
They are loyal, brave and strong.
To call a Skeith fat and lazy
Would be easy but wrong.

Skeiths don't have the best physique,
But that doesn't mean a thing;
When you don't understand the Neopet,
Insults are easy to fling.

But Skeiths are sweet as sugar,
And nice when you get down to it;
Some people think they are horrible,
But they're not right one little bit.

Take Slychi the Skeith invader--
He was in the front line of the Tyrannian war.
A Neopet like that, you're sure to know,
Will never be a bore.

And what about those little baby ones,
So cute in their little PJ's?
They're gorgeous and the best Neopets ever;
I don't care what anyone says.

What about that useless junk?
What are you supposed to do?
I know a Neopet who will get rid of it,
With a single word from you.

You take care of your darling Skeith,
And he'll take care of you;
You love him truly and treat him fairly,
And he will love you true.

So for all his love and loyalty,
There's one thing you can say,
For all the things he does for you,
Say, "Happy Skeith Day!"

The Skeith's Diet Lament

I've been told that I'm too bulky,
And really, I can't deny it.
The scales broke when I stepped on them,
So this week I went on a diet.

One thing to know about us Skeiths,
There's something we avoid with ease;
It makes our tummies grumble and groan,
No, we just cannot stand cheese.

So on Monday I just ate omelette,
I've heard it's good for you.
But there are so many tasty varieties,
I wound up eating twenty-two!

Midweek I tried medieval food,
To satisfy my tummy.
Who'd have thought gruel could taste so good?
And rotten tomatoes are just yummy!

By Friday, I packed my diet in,
Although I'd tried and tried;
And I'll just accept I'll never be thin,
And hope people love the Skeith inside!

Ode to My Skeith

I have a Neopet that's really grand;
He's big and hungry, and at my hand.
I type with one now even though
It's hard to eat and even row.

But he's so happy and full of glee;
He bites the smaller Petpets instead of me.
I can't hold that against him,
Because I love him so,
Even if while I typed he just snapped off my toe.

He seems to eat almost all the time;
It may be costly, but he's mine.
I love my Skeith and all his quirks,
Even if he never works.

So Velvettaco this one's for you--
The Skeith who is both big and blue.
And if you see this, please be nice,
For my missing toe, please get some ice.

The Poem My Skeith Didn't Manage To Eat

Rubdrub the Skeith is my Neopet and friend,
And there's no cost upon him,
That I see as too much to spend.
He is not the prettiest sight to behold,
But that's what I like about him most, I'm told.
There's something about that mischievous grin,
And those beady eyes that light up when
I buy him a book that he really enjoys,
Or play with him with those little Neopet toys.

Though I'm a new owner,
Rubdrubs taught me a lot--
When I should feed him, and when I should not.
He's nearly bloated all the time,
But he grins and belches, so I guess he's fine.
He's not yet eaten any items
That I wish him not to touch,
Though the sight of the expensive stuff
Makes him drool so much.
He's behaved himself; he's been a good boy,
Well... with the exception of when he ate
That book and plush toy

I have no complaints, other than this--
I've bought a few books,
That have not brought him bliss.
He says books about paintings
And kingdoms are a bore!
And these are subjects I quite adore.
Perhaps at some time, he'll change his opinion
But for now, to be honest,
I just feel like his minion,
Going back and forth,
Getting him food and toys for play.
Oh, whom am I kidding? I enjoy it anyway.

If he is hurt or sad, I am hurt and sad, too.
To make him happy again,
There's nothing I'd not do.
I'd feed him whatever his little heart desires,
Until the sadness and hurt quickly expires.
He is the best Neopet a guy could adore;
He keeps me from wanting any more.
I can't wait until I get to play with him again;
Though he's rough around the edges,
He's still a great friend.
