FAERIE FESTIVAL SPECIAL

An Ode to the Wonder of Faeries
By Strawberrysummer

See that spark of shimmering light,
Whizzing its way across the black night?
That's a Faerie up there, she's just taking flight
Swooping and gliding like an elegant kite.

Graceful and fair, they're the prettiest things
Lighting the sky on their fluttering wings
The Soup Faerie smiles
At the goodness she brings
As Illusen soars past and quietly sings.

Jhudora wears robes encrusted with jewels
She's utterly gorgeous, and utterly cruel
Do as she says, and live under her rules
And she says she'll reward you--
but are you her fool?

The Space Faerie is a Battledome queen
Keeping the bad guys off the space scene
With her skirt made of stars
And her blue hair serene
She fights for our souls
And slays ghouls in between

There's a land for these beauties,
Floating on a cloud
Wrapped up in mist like a mystical shroud
Take up their jobs,
Do them well, make them proud
Or ask for a Quest, and see if you're allowed

There are shops and boutiques,
Oh, and a paint brush, too
And so many secrets - if only you knew!
Why not ask the Soup Faerie
For some of her stew?
Or visit Fyora - you know where, don't you?

Oh look! There's another one--
A winged shooting star
Winking at us from the skyline afar
Off to bring love to all Neopia
When it's you who needs some,
They'll know where you are.

A Boon From Illusen
By La_burrito_malvado

Illusen, Illusen, I searched for you long,
Questing for things that you need.
I spent all I had and I sold what I could,
'Til my pets were begging to eat.

I knew I should stop, I knew I should quit,
I'd been told a thousand times.
But your eyes were beguiling and your voice soft,
So through the levels I climbed.

My addiction increased, and my fervor as well
Until not a day could pass
Without my arriving at your leafy home,
Pleading to fetch as I kneeled in the grass.

Each day you acceded
And I brought components
To spells of wonderful craft.
My friends watched in pity,
I knew what they thought:
"I told you the truth; she's gone daft."

Then one day you asked for something
That my best efforts could not provide.
I cried and I asked all I could see,
Yet I returned lone but for sighs.

Illusen, Illusen, O Faerie I serve,
I really did try, I swear.
I know I should not, but one favor I ask:
Could you send me for something less rare?

Fallen (Grey Faerie Serenade)
By Sakabasharpie

Hard metal digs into me,
The wind lashes against me,
I feel naught the sensation of rain,
Only the feeling of dread.

Tears well in my eyes,
Yet I cannot cry.
My heart aches with loneliness,
Yet no one will fill the bleak darkness.

Days pass by, without even a sigh,
Of a gentle breeze,
Or water to quench my thirst.

I hang between sleep and reality,
Light and Dark.
Death will not take me,
Its dark flames taunting me.
Light will not sooth me,
It dares not travel here.

I cannot escape my cage of misery,
It keeps me isolated, lonely and despaired.
I cannot fly to the skies,
Like the other Faeries can.
My wings are clipped, my beauty gone,
Along with everything else.

I have fallen into a nightmare
That I cannot wake up from.
I am rotting into nothing more,
Than a grey shell...

Jhudora
By Golden_shadow_girl

All know of that Dark Faerie,
The one with a green streak in her hair,
She hands out Quests to those
Who have the courage to even dare.

With wings looking evil and gnarled,
With twisted hands ending in green nails,
This Faerie sits in her clawed-foot throne,
Looking as if you die if you fail.

Unlike her sister, the beautiful Illusen
Who lives in the Meridell everglades,
This Dark Faerie despises most
The wooded peace of Illusen's Glade.

Green smoke shrouds her in horror,
Menacing purple her eyes burn,
In her hand a scepter glows,
And by her, full of Quest items, an urn.

She is Jhudora, the most feared Faerie,
No Neopet dares make her cross,
Because when she gets angered,
You'll quickly lose a huge loss.

I warn you, now, of Jhudora, that witch.
If she asks you for something, you better ditch.
Don't be fooled by her cackling laugh.
Beware, Jhudora's heart has been cut in half.

Bottled Faeries
By Silent_bard

Caught in a bottle
No way out
Waiting for a curious Neopet
Willing to break the seal

The wait is long
The wait is dull
Their magic pools around them
Waiting to be used

For those willing and strong
May be blessed
But those who are weak and foolhardy
Will watch them fly away

For those who find these items
Please choose wisely
Open the cap for the Faeries
For you might be blessed

For those who are weak
And those who are strong
You will both get secret gratitude
From those who were released

Those who are gentle and kind
Will find a reward
Those who are harsh and cruel
Will find nothing

Bottled Faeries always waiting
For those who are kind
To free them from their captivity
To fly free once more
