Clipped Wings

She sits there in the dampness,
in her iron cage of fear.
Thoughts of escape run through her head,
as the taunting shadows appear.

Life like this is unbearable,
in this cell without a friend.
No way to escape the torment,
no powers to defend.

A Grey Faerie sits in loneliness,
her heart filled with fear.
All hope destroyed in her thoughts
until she feels a presence near.

With sad eyes she looks up,
to find a bright eyed Kyrii looking back.
"My name is Tavi," the Kyrii says,
dressed in her traveling clothes and pack.

"Please help me get outta here,"
the Grey Faerie cried.
With keen observations,
she tricked the lock with pride.

Once outside in safety,
the Faerie tells her tale.
The story of her clipped wings,
and how she became so frail.

There is a way to repair them,
I need a new name,
so without hesitation,
her new identity they were off to claim.

Lord Darigan-Defeated at Last!

Destruction, Desolation, Death, and Darigan,
what a coincidence!
All of the crowds cheer and celebrate,
while shouting, "Good riddance!"

At first he fought for what was his,
with such bravery and valour.
Then he became power hungry,
and his mission soured.

He knocked out everyone in his way,
without a single qualm.
Until a knight so strong in heart,
made that creature fall.

Lord Darigan, we took back,
what rightfully was ours.
And let you know that no one
should go that far for power.

We soundly fought, with never a quiver,
and stood resolute in our cause.
Through day and night we clashed with him,
without a whim at all.

All this has paid off tremendously,
for now he is gone at last.
And now Lord Darigan is but,
a memory in the past.

So listen up, pay much attention,
because, ironically
You all should know because of us
DEFEAT also begins with D!

A dark lord was defeated
And though he delivered shattering blows
Few pets of Neopia retreated

With the Orb on his side
To destroy him seemed lost
But the brave pets still fought
With their hit points as cost

Thousands walked away
Hurt, battered and torn
All of them were in pain
But their faces, never forlorn

The world of Neopia was at stake
And so they attacked him with might
They hurled snowballs and such
All through the morning and night

And finally a pet triumphed
Delivering the final blow
The pets exalted aloud
With all of their faces aglow

Now Neopia can be free
And the people can smile
Brave pets from the world
Rid them of Darigan the vile

The Prowl of The Shadow Usul

Wait, young traveler, and take warning
you must stay here until morning!
If you should so choose to leave,
first listen to my tale, and take heed.

It is dangerous out tonight,
something stalks just out of sight.
In the darkness she does lie,
and waits for you as you pass by.

Like a shadow, she fears the light,
and prowls about the land at night.
Her eyes burn deep within her skull,
cold and shining, dead and dull.

She moves so quickly, you could swear
that she may've never really been there
But you can't deny the chill you feel
and a sudden shudder beneath your heels.

No matter how fast you try to run,
your fate is sealed, it has begun.
When morning comes, others will find
that no trace of you has been left behind.
Every word I speak is true,
stay inside, or it will happen to you.
Heed my words, young Neopian,
lest she choose you as her next victim.
