Through dawn’s skies with glee
Today was for him to be adored
Plus enjoy training - for free!

It’s Shoyru day, an annual treat
A celebration of all of his kind
With fresh colours and friends to meet
A more joyful day you will never find

He swooped and twirled above the clouds
Before he dove down to town
On the ground, Shoyru friends gathered in a crowd
To party right through to sundown

The very peak of fashion!

Freeze monsters in their tracks!

(Though, if I'm truly honest–
And maybe this is weird–
I may love him just 'cause he has
My real-life spouse's beard.)

The Lead Vocalist Shoyru of the Twisted Roses

The Twisted Roses,
With their sad lead singer.

In grey and crimson garb.

Like a daggered barb.

She greets you with a friendly smile.

Awake. We brew this drink with pride!
Some borovan is tasty, or
A bubble tea would be a score."

I choose a coffee, fine to drink.
The Shoyru's brews are grand, I think!

Which Neopians will savour.

Going around taking flight,
Guarding the skies from danger,
Having Torshac the Shoyru Scout is a real game-changer!

With goggles that allow him to see in the dark,
On crime he's able to leave his mark,
Becoming more known all around,
Torshac is one who is worthy of a crown!

When it comes to stealth he is well versed,
Something that he has made sure to have rehearsed,
After all it is important to his craft,
Foiling any scheme no matter how daft!

Using his staff if he is needed to attack,
Torshac isn't a foe that will hold back,
If facing him it is best to surrender,
You wouldn't to come face to face with Meridell's greatest defender!

Keeping the streets safe when the sun goes down,
Torshac allows Neopians in Meridell to travel safely through the town,
Watches from shadows, quiet and fast,
Making sure peace and safety will last!

Barry’s Marbles

Barry the Baby Shoyru
Loved to play some games.
He really liked his marbles—
Doesn’t that sound quite tame?

He played with them so often—
Every night and day.
Oh, how fun it was
To play and play and play!

Alas, the day would come
When everything went wrong.
Barry forgot to keep his marbles—
He left them alone for too long.

Now this offended them badly—
They felt incredibly hurt.
How could Barry forget about them?
This feeling was the worst.

There would be only one solution—
It was time for a mutiny!
They were angry and defiant,
They would rise up in unity!

Now Barry had a problem—
He had to catch them all.
The marbles were too fast,
While Barry could only crawl.

Barry would have to be smart,
And use tools to guide them back.
With bumpers, blocks and arrows,
They were soon on the right track.

Should a mable have escaped,
What would he have done then?
Their escape could wreak such havoc—

Most have said so, by far!

Or an iced coffee mid-afternoon 
Something cosy to see in the evening 
Even one by the light of the moon 

I love seeing everyone smile
As they enjoy the drink that they choose 
Whether their usual pick from the menu
Or a choice about which I will enthuse

The Ballad of Baby Barry

Baby Barry the Shoyru was cheerful,
As he played in his polka dot clothes.
From his mother, well, he’d had an earful,
To return each toy back where it goes. 

Baby Barry the Shoyru was lazy,
And instead, he retired to bed.
Overnight, the room, darkened and hazy,
Was transformed to a circus of dread. 

Baby Barry the Shoyru was sleeping,
When toys on the floor came to life.
The marbles grew arms and went creeping 
Around the room, looking for strife.

Baby Barry the Shoyru was woken,
And what he saw took him aback.
The malevolent marbles had spoken,
They were launching a full-scale attack. 

Baby Barry the Shoyru was frightened,
As the sinister marbles advanced.
But his sense of his duty was heightened,
To solve this, ‘round the room he glanced.

Baby Barry the Shoyru was clever,
He got out his bumpers and blocks.
And set out upon his endeavour
To put his toys back in their box.

Baby Barry the Shoyru was watching,
As Marblemen rolled back away.
With a boing and a bounce and some catching,
These marbles were now held at bay. 

Baby Barry the Shoyru was relieved,
And in him, calm started to spread.
But wait, there’s one marble yet retrieved,
A snarl comes from under his bed!
