April Fools Prank

The first day of the Month of Eating
Has caught me unawares!
For though I am happy for Spring,
It's the PRANKS that have me scared.

I thus protect myself from shame
By striking at them first
With the greatest joke of all–
Or, perhaps, the WORST.

I collected every copy I could
Of the frightful Mask
That the great Smile Withme wore
On the Fool's day of years' past.

I hid each mask with care and cunning
Across Neopia's lands,
So even the most secluded Pets
Could find one among the sands.

I hid one at the Giant Omelette,
Right under Sabre's nose,
And another I hid within hollows
Where the Brain Tree grows.

Another Mask lay in plain sight
Upon the Tombola Guy's face
Who noticed not why Neopians
Ran screaming from his place.

After I pulled this perfect prank,
Causing widespread mayhem,
I lay down in my peaceful bed,
Sure that I'd finally beat him…

But when I gazed up toward the ceiling,
A Mask stared back at me–
And who else would be dangling there,
Other than Smile Withme!

The Jokes on You

Neopia’s Day of Pranks!

The day has come where you can trust none,
Where funny things happen and pranks are done.
Chaos strikes early on the first of April’s morn,
This day happens every year, the jokes aren’t foreign.

The Pant Devil chuckled and turned his cape to pink,
Hubert only stocked regular hot dogs, with a sly wink.
Jhudora, a menace would normally make Illusen pout,
But instead, “We should totally call a truce!” she cried out.

Hagan looked around and realized his crown was gone,
The Meepits had stolen it, and wore it all wrong.
Turmaculus, who usually slept through the night,
Was awake all day and refused to take a bite.

The Battledome was struck today with jokes on the wall,
Your Super Attack Pea is gone, in it’s place, an Icy Snowball.
The Rainbow Pool turned an odd shade of grey,
The Money Tree littered with beans, what a day!

As the sun began to set, Neopians laughed and hugged.
This day gets a pass, the games are all bugged!
April Fools is a day where laughter continues to fly,
So here’s to Neopia’s spree of fun that lights up the sky!

And Nick Neopia, who we believed had long, long gone and left
Many tricks and jokes we've played, so witty and so deft!

Last year, you may've seen some new signs
Plastered all about
"Think happy thoughts!" and "Just smile!"
Avoid a frown or pout
"Hang in there!" said one posted here
There, "Make time to play!"
Surely this is all good fun?
"Everything will be okay!"

A mysterious figure revealed himself, so-called Smile Withme
Said he's the one behind it all to bring us joy and glee
Just sign right here, on the dotted line, and smiles will last all day
Don't read too close or question it or else he'll make you pay

What's that you say about the signs?
They're not as they appeared?
"You know nothing" -- no, that's the truth!
Nothing's odd or weird!
"Feeling down? Cry about it!" 
That's good advice, you know
"Cease thinking." Now that's good too!
You ought to "Just... Let... Go."

With mask in hand or on your face there's nothing left to fear
That April Fools was the best one yet! That's FACT... Is that all clear?
Don't argue, don't fight. It's perfect, devoid of all emotion
So thank you for your cooperation, loyalty, and devotion.
