Trick-Or-Treat

Trick-or-treating,
Is the best part of Halloween.
Waiting a whole year,
To scour for treats dressed as Fyora the faerie queen.

I start my evening in Neopia Central,
Where I visit Hubert at his stand.
He hands me a hot dog flavoured toffee,
Which is certainly not going to be bland.

Next I visit Uni,
At the parlour where everyone comes for a groom.
She hands me some toothpaste,
And a toothbrush in the shape of a mushroom.

Looking for some better treats,
I head towards the chocolate shop.
The Kiko sees my pitiful collection,
And gives me chocolate, bonbons and all the lollipops.

Heading back home with a bag of goodies,
Excited for all the sugar to come.
Already excited to trick-or-treat next year,
As I chew on a piece of bubble gum.

Kadoatie Tricks

Even though it's Halloween,
I'm just a Blue Kadoatie,
no black cat costume necessary.
Always hungry, oh what's that I see?

Is that a pumpkin full of candy?
"Take One" the sign might say.

The Meowclops and the Jack-o-Lantern

A curious power.
What is this? I find myself wond'ring.
Large, orange, round, with a cackling grin.
It smells like a pumpkin,
And looks like a pumpkin,
But I can tell there resides
An evil within.

A spirited spirit.
Its spirit is vengeful, playful, and judging.
It comes in darkness to cast my sure doom.
I dutifully arch my back,
Prepare my claws for attack,
I pounce! But stop midway
By its voice, stoic, that booms.

It beckons me.
"We are creatures of Halloween!" it's calling.
It stares to my soul through its triangle eyes.
I place a paw to it,
And feel warmth within it,
Conceal'd in its folds
Hides a fiery surprise.

At every house where

Or gorge their entire sack?
If it was me,
I'm sure you would agree
That you'd eat it up quick-
and maybe get sick.
But who could resist

The Haunted Mansion

Halloween began at the Haunted Mansion,
Greeted by a Hallo Pteri named Hansen,
A group of thrilling seekers entered,
Hoping for a day of mystery in its center.

Theodora, a Halloween Techo, was the first,
Spooked at the sight of a rat and dispersed,
A portrait moved on its own scaring others,
But they continued the tour with shudders.

"What is that?!" a horrified Hallo Kau gasped,
The group turned to look while they clasped,
A shadow quickly ran on the second floor,
Causing a Halloween Ixi to scram to the door.

Hansen chuckled, "you seem to be dwindling,"
As only 3 remained - noticed their hindering,
A brave Halloween Gelert, "We want to continue,"
Hansen replied, "What a spirit within you!"

In the dinning room they stopped next,
A Halloween Hissi gazed perplexed,
Something foreboding filled the group,
A Hallo Kacheek ready to leave this troupe.

A door slammed causing all to jump,
Followed by objects crashing with a thump,
"BOOOOOO!" shouted the lord - a Hallo Grarrl,
The group ran receiving the scare they desired.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

A Custom for Halloween

As Hallow's Eve draws nigh again
I have a spooky kind of yen
To spend my Neopoints loud and free
And buy a paint brush just for me

The choices lie in front of me
There's Ghost and of course Halloween 
Perhaps Transparent would look sweet
And bring to me those tasty treats

If originality is what you seek
To try to look a bit unique
Mayhaps a potion could morph your look
Some Mutants can give quite the spook

I head down to the National Bank
And to the Skeith there I nod my thanks
But what is this, the ultimate scare
My account is empty, completely bare!

I wake up in a sweat and daze
A dream, thank goodness, I wipe my face
I head out to buy the things I want
For tonight we go to holler and haunt!

Edna's Halloween Treat

To the mixture add a little bit of Quiggle legs
A tiny dash of eye of Techo
A pinch of powdered Uni horn
Then set the heat on low

Add a splash of Spyder essence
And heaping scoop of Buzz wings
A half-cup of Rainbow Slorg slime
Heat 'til the cauldron starts to glow

Then add one scale of Draik wing
Some Baabaa wool 
And Mynci toes
Keep the cauldron rocking slow

Don't forget the Korbat tongue
Two drops of Krawk tears
And a single Kyrii hair
Now let the heat begin to grow

Finally add a bit of molasses
And a teaspoon of sugar
Followed by two glugs of vanilla
But don't let the mixture overflow

Let cool and then dust with
Sweetened cocoa powder
And a dash of sugar crystals
With sprinkles just for show

What - you thought that this was morbid?
A recipe of body parts?!

fill cups and cauldrons all.
Gummy rats in green and pink
scamper ‘round and slink.

Halloween’s just full of treats 
that horrify the living.
But tonight’s the one for nasty snacks
Let lose all your misgivings. 

Try the hooves, fresh off the Kau
By now they’re barely mooing.
That pot is full of wormy stew
Wash it down with haunted brew.

Sample something from that dish
The nettles hardly sting.
Want deviled steak? Don’t be slow.
It flies away if you let go.

Don’t worry, you’ll be fine.
Eat it all or take your pick.
By morning you won’t feel a thing
...‘cause Ghost pets don’t get sick.

The Korbat Wing Soup: A Beastly Brew

It smells so horrible, to boot!

They say it's tasty, but I think
This weird concoction really stinks!
The wings of Korbats are so gross.

Admittedly, I must confess---
I cannot stand the taste---it's sour!
This must be straight from Edna's tower.

but have fun and dress to scare

Of these avengers one should be afraid!
Slowly crawling from home to home
The undead Petpets eerily roam
to remind owners of transgressions
How could one never forget 
the pain of being an experiment?
To taunt and warn owners is their mission.
I’d opt to collect Trick or Treat bags
this Halloween, as cliche as it seems
for an unlikely yet scorned crowd gathers
and if you’ve zapped a Petpet,
you do not want to be seen.

The Sights and Sounds of Halloween

eager trick-or-treaters can be seen
going from one place to another

Do you hear the familiar rustles

with each haunted and beloved landmark

Count Von Roo is an excellent choice of a costume,
An Edna outfit would be hard to beat I would assume,
An Esophagor costume will be hard to pull off,
But if you manage to do it don't forget to be like him and continue to cough!

Through her home’s web-covered walls
evil cackling can be heard
but believe me, she’s not evil
and just wants items delivered

Come and visit Edna the Witch’s Tower
helping her gives her much-needed power
Gather ingredients for her spells
and she will reward you rather well. 
She’s not the brightest witch, you see
and could use a hand on Halloween
So don’t be shy, feel free to stop by

Halloween Korbat Morphing Potion

It was the night of Halloween,
And I went to the town’s apothecary,
I was searching for a fur removal elixir,
To be a little less hairy.
As a Werelupe, the mane
Can be really quite scary.

I found the right bottle,
But with my clunky ‘ol claws,
I grabbed the wrong one,
And without even a pause,
I gulped the whole thing,
Clutched in my paws.

Barely a Werelupe’s howl later,
A felt a tummy commotion, 
I looked towards the bottle,
As if in slow motion,
I realized what I actually swallowed,
Was a Halloween Korbat Potion. 

Well my hair did fall out,
My whole body did shrink,
I sprouted black wings,
In the very next blink,
My face turned green,
My nails fell with a clink.

Now I had tiny little hands,
And the pointy witch’s hat,
The signature Korbat tail,
Small yellow feet to look at,
And the big floppy ears,
I was a little white bat.

How could I scare others now,
I was so cute and adorable,
So used to being a Werelupe,
Big, scary, and deplorable,
But I had no hair at all anymore,
So maybe Korbats weren’t so horrible.

A Fun Carnival?

a fun carnival it appears to be
but that’s merely a clever disguise
Grim events had occurred there 
a long, long time ago
The full story’s a dark mystery
that nobody will ever know
Neopets flock to the area

but the Deserted Fairground
is eeriest on Halloween night.
The lights are dim and flicker
within Castle Nox’s chilly walls
Some report Spooky Food they bought
we’re filled with strange stuff that crawls
Apparitions of creepy Chia Clowns
follow random passersby, and
most of the time these figures 
are the ones throwing unwanted pies
Forget the carnival games for now
there’s nobody there you can trust
as on this particular night crowds 
are treated with suspicion and disgust
because on every passing Halloween
unexplained occurrences are seen
Haunted Woods locals relive horrors
of a past unknown to most

The Ghost Lupe

Each year when trick-or-treat begins,
there’s something chilling in the air.
Though the Haunted Woods are fearsome,
Neopians know it’s not just from there.

The Ghost Lupe walks on silent paws
when he’s out and on the prowl.
If you’re one of the truly unlucky,
you’ll shudder at his growl.

As darkness descends upon the land,
Barbats will shriek and swoop.
Make sure to always check behind you,
and hide your pets from the Ghost Lupe.

When you enter each trick-or-treat shop,
remember to ask for a treat.
If you forget and are rude to the owner,
your Chia the Ghost Lupe might eat.

Scholars have tried to figure him out.
Sylva might have once been his name.
He might have lost his young bride too
and now is cursed to remain.

They don’t know much else about him,
except for his last journal script:
“They were captured during the night,”
the whole fabric of his life ripped.

Now he haunts his resting place,
merciless and wracked with despair.
Your Neopets are never safe,
though few he chooses to spare.

He was shipwrecked 200 years ago,
but you may just find him near.
Not just on this Halloween night,
but also on any other day of the year.
