Pteri Day

A flock of Pterii gather around,
for the annual flying race.
The judges give the starting sound,
and off begins the chase!

To see which Pteri is king of the sky,
they challenge each other with speed.
As the flock of Pterii continues to fly,
only one will be in the lead.

As the race continues they begin to tire,
as the weaker struggle to stay.
The stronger just keeps flying higher,
The weaker Pteri call it a day.

Soon enough only one Pteri stands,
the finishing line is near!
The king is crowned and surrounded by fans,
the others will have to wait 'til next year.

Pteri Day Is Finally Here!

I may not be a baby Draik,
A Shoryu, Gelert, or Faerie...
But I fly higher than them all-
I'm a simple plain red Pteri.

I'm lifted through the wind with ease
My feathers ruffled by the breeze
From high above, the Pteri sees
Neopia in all its splendour.

Terror Mountain's freezing ice
From bird's eye view looks pretty nice, and
The Haunted Woods' foreboding trees
are a place to rest my tired wings.

From the Mystery Isle to outer space,
The Pteri's home is any place,
Soaring through the clouds I race
the light of sunset and of dawn.

Our day has come, all Pteris proud,
Beaming at the crowds around
from recognition that's coming near...
Pteri Day is finally here!

Today is not just any day,
Oh my! Today is Pteri Day!
Pteris 'round the world rejoice,
Singing with their high-pitched voice.

They fluffed their feathers and their tails,
And sharpen up their pointy nails.
They put on clanking armour suits
And polished, shiny leather boots!

With a quick glance at the mirror,
They strode out crest up without fear.
They headed off to Tyrannia,
Where all the Pteris gathered there.

Pteris painted red and green,
And even some are Halloween!
They lined up on a classy stage,
All of different heights and age!

Bang! The pistol gave the cue,
And all the Pteris proudly flew.
Towards the little red flag pole,
Must get there first! It is their goal.

The crowds went wild and cheered them on,
Someone even waved their wands!
The audience's hearts did skip,
Who will win the championships?

Really, how could this be boring?

The big day is now here
There's sure to be lots of fun
Flying in the sky
Up there close to the sun

The race is almost over
One more lap around the track
Got to give it all
Be the leader of the pack

Swirling through the air
Passing everyone low and high
Looking left and right
Waving, devilishly goodbye!

Here comes the end
Oh, it's so near
I'm about to win
I had nothing to fear

Now I am the champion
Too easy the race did seem
What!? Please don't tell me
It was all a dream

Had the race really started?
NO!
Then what are we waiting for?
