Beneath the Tonu Constellation

It is midnight in the northern fields 
That rise above the lowland jungles
Of Tyrannia. The village light pollution
Is barely marginal to that yielded by
The stars overlooking the small bundle
Of Neopets beneath the Tonu Constellation.

The seven stars are shaped like a horn:
The identifying mark of a Tonu charging
Forth in this land, their prehistoric domain. 
Herds of the Tonu graze as a newborn
Appears in the field, like a star falling
From the sky in search of a new reign.

The steady crunching of grass is broken
By the baby Tonu’s attempt at a noise:
A precursor roar, then the herd’s approval.
Under their constellation (perhaps a token
Of the baby’s origin), the newborn is poised
With a navy hide and gold stars, all fiducial.

The Tonu Constellation gleams all night—
The Tyrannian village stirs awake at dawn,
Pre-lit by an alleged fallen star in the fields.
When the Tonu migrate during the daylight,
The wild land welcomes its newest spawn.
As above for Tonu, so below their star yields.

A contest so thrilling, quite the spectacle back then.


Guileford inspires many, he has not always been at the top.
In fact, his career started at the Neolodge- as a humble bellhop!
Eventually he rocketed to stardom and fame.
Scoring invites to exclusive venues was his aim.


Aside from working up the social ladder of prominence,
He's also worked to achieve financial dominance. 
It's true: Guileford is known for earning cash,
His wise stock market investments are never rash.

All because he buys chic clothing from all over the globe.
Since of course he must stock his elaborate wardrobe!
This Tonu day we recognize a true fashion icon, always avant-garde.
His reputation so notable and pristine, it can never be marred.

All of a sudden you hear a really loud sound.
Wow!! its the magma pool but wait,
Who's that guard?.. it looks like a stalemate.

You ask him his name to be polite, 
That's when he tells you the start of his plight.
Unnamed and lonely he is,
Remembering his life is when his anger starts to fizz!

"Only those well-versed in the ways of Moltara are permitted to enter the Pool"
You start to feel like an unprepared fool.
Leaving the caves you feel so sad,
Why did no one give a name to this fiery lad?

Deep in thought and tired from exploring,
Perhaps if the Tonu had a name he wouldn't be roaring. 
Maybe you can sneak past him next time he is asleep,
Your Neopet will be happy with their new colour for cheap.

A Tonu's Tale

Since the start of time, I wanted to be like them
The warrior's rhythm and rhyme, I wanted to be like them

My mother had nothing but pride for our species, and tried to get me to be the same
She read to me the stories of heroes in nursery rhymes, I wanted to be like them

My level was zero, I was far too young to fight
I played with the other kids, rough faces covered in grime, I wanted to be like them

On my first birthday, I met a few Battledome pets
I wanted to climb, to climb, and now I wanted to be like them

Those warriors, unafraid of nothing, a myriad of feathers on their helms
Who would have thought that I started to work full-time because I wanted to be like them?

I put jewellery on my horn, I stomped my hooves into the sand
The types I imitated were a dozen a dime, yet I wanted to be like them

I began to work, my strength grew and I achieved my goals
And I still envied the strong ones in my prime, I wanted to be like them

So here I stand, my one final task, remembering who sent me here
Those warriors who inspired me to tighten my personal paradigm, just because I wanted to be like them

So I promise to teach the tonus who follow my tracks
Lend a hand with a smile as I look back on the times when I wanted to be like them

A Tonu and His Tulip Garden

What a pleasant day he thought,
Pulling up weeds to make room for the tulips,
The Woodland Tonu whistled as he brushed off the frost,
While grabbing for a heavy bag of potting soil and extra woodchips.

The sky was bright blue with not a cloud in sight,
The Tonu gave pause to take a glance towards the sunlight,
His brown eyes closed as he took in a deep breath of fresh air,
He looked back down at the soil and made sure to give it much flair!

He walked over to get his basket and felt something sour,
All around the Tonu was a dusting of a surprise snow shower,
He gave a sigh of disbelief as he screamed out for his mother!
