Illusen's Glade in Spring
by cookiez101

This crisp, crunched winter sepulchral broken
with veins of shimmering lime glow. A creaking
scratchy boarded treehouse like a world anew.

Squiggled transparent lines through paper, seeds splitting into dirt
welcomed by calloused hands, this magic that guides us through seasons.

But why not begin with the tree leaves – the Cherry Blossoms and Birch?
And what of the Sunflowers, sleepy in their onyx hollow?

Illusen will shake her head, raining dewdrops from copper hair.
First, the moss begins to twinkle, shifting in its loamy fortress, shaking its furry arms.

Then, the wispy curling of Dandelions, followed by songs of Daffodils, Crocuses
belting from rich yellows and purples and clapping stiff hands.
Grasses tiptoe to edges of brick stairs, garden edges, venturing cautiously.
And up and up, and so on and on.

Then “why” will escape you,
eyes feeling as if they’ll burst with pigment
all the greens ever imagined
held in shadow, sun, and nostalgia
from toes and up and up, and so on and on.

Ode To Dice-A-Roo
by midnightsmores

Far off in Neopia on Roo Island lives a King
A sweet, jumpy fellow by the name of Roo
He challenges all with a fun, easy game
Though those who win are very few

Begin by paying 5 Neopoints, if you please
Then a roll of the dice, a simple feat
5 colours to play through to win
Don't be discouraged if you are quickly beat

A game of chance, that's all it is
Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, and Silver
Aim for the jackpot on the final die
And you could be the new winner!

"Take the money!" You'll be tempted
But hold out for something better
Foods dropping and lottery tickets to take
You want to play a game of a veteran bettor

With an avatar to unlock
and plenty of food to grab
A long round of Dice-A-Roo
Will leave you feeling fab!

Blumaroos love Nachos
I bet you didn't know
Maybe you can distract them
And watch the jackpot grow!

'Boing!' go the Blumaroos all around
A secret sixth dice could be the ultimate win
Don't let them tempt you to take the money!
Otherwise you'll never know what could have been!

The End of Flash
by p1sideshow

Hark, the end of flash
Games played every day
Daily dare challenges smashed
Beating high scores
of 200m peanut dash

Grappling hooks of warrior royalty
Naughty petpets stealing gems
Herd that Noil, gee!
Ugga smash against friends

Bouncing Hassees on long seesaws
Avoiding mint chocolate chip
Racing chariots, yeehaw!
Guide some petpets home
just take a dip!

Held breaths and racing hearts
that trophy would look so pretty
Glued to the computer, hardly apart
Is Meepit juice fizzy?

Sweaty fingers on keyboards
shooting for high high scores
Clicking away at mice
Game over? Darn it! Not quite

Behold, the end of an era
many fun times were had
Mystery Island to Molterra
Shenkuu and Krawk Island
all those memories, über Gadgads

Goodbye Flash, you've paid your dues
You'll be fondly remembered
By those of us who choose
to hold on to nostalgia, how tender!

My Turmac Roll
by snhardy

My Turmac's roll time:
She's missing and leaping --
a moment, all mine.

To roll -- yet wait;
our keyboard's faith.

She jumps in, to jump out
Berries of fish, fire, and clout.

But it's not the score upon the board,
It's colour, the rush to the gord.
A wild workhorse running into the sun
A cog in the machine, falls off to have fun.

I'm rolling, rolling, rolling --
On Neopets.com, man I love berry bowling.

Ultimate Bullseye Discovery
by roxanna203

A long time ago, a Turtum had a thought.
He wanted to host a game, so out he sought.
During his journey, he ran into a Buzzer,
Together they formed a team, like no other.

The Buzzer, whole-heartedly, was on board,
For this game will surely set a new record.
First and foremost, where would it take place?
Has to be somewhere with a lot of space.

That's when they discovered Meridell,
Turtum said, "Yes, this will do quite well."
They built a game called Ultimate Bullseye,
And came up with the rules to go by.

Punchbag Bob stumbled upon their team,
Deciding to join, with joy and gleam.
That's how this trio made an amazing game,
Come join and play, but don't forget to aim!

A Light in the Fog
by dweebchan

Heads hung low and shoulders shook,
Tears rained down for all the games that time took,
Tombstones appearing wherever we look,

Grey walls closing in, though some colours peek through, And through between sighs you notice, someone's waving you?

Don't be alarmed, for that isn't a ghost! It's someone with good news, a game's found its new host!

"Not all as been lost!" You cheer as you dash, to embrace the return of games lost in a flash,

You wonder, is it's mobile-friendly, perhaps? A soft smile spreads, it responds to your taps!

Kass Bashin'
by exanomaly

So it’s half past three,
I’m heading down to the tree
with an old stick of bread
and a Kass plushie --

y’know, life can get rough
as a Grundo plush
when you’re doin’ it tough
filling vats up
at the Freaky Factory.

So I came up with a plan --
when I can, I’m a fan
of whacking a toy ‘cross this beautiful land --
and if you bash a Kass
(though it may seem crass)
I’ll bet in a (RIP) flash
you’ll be flying, free-wheeling, and feeling groovy --
and when you wear yourself out, grab a Lemon Blitz Smoothie.

So give it a try, it’ll keep you chirpy and spry
(and you can trust me,
I’m a straight-up guy:
never made any other Neopet cry.)
But as for the toy Kass --
it can take a good bash,
and when the wind blows by
at 9 meters per second --
well, watch that thing fly!

So if you need a chill time,
no need to sweat --
just grab a club, a stick,
or a big baguette --
march on down to that tree
and I bet you’ll be
a mad dasher,
a toy-thrasher,
the highest-scoring, smoothiest-pouring,
Kass Basher yet --
I, for one, have zero regrets.

Ode to Old Bessie
by fox_confessor

A Wocky with a feathered cap
Stands upon a grassy plane
Chest aloft and puffed with pride
With neither title nor name

He works upon a humble farm
Or so the tales tell
Growing marrows full and sweet
In peaceful Meridell

Each day he rises with the sun
Upon the Croakabeks’ call
Castle pillars in the distance
Standing firm and tall

Beside the winding creek
Mortogs wade through mist
Watching the Wocky on his way
Warry of being kissed

Up above the grassy plane
Rests a gentle mound of earth
Upon which sit the Wocky’s best
Marrows of great weight and worth

But of all the marrows grown
To the Wocky, second to none
Is beautiful, bountiful Old Bessie
And all of her hundred tons

So large was dear Old Bessie
That farmers still proclaim
No marrow was ever greater
And all still laude her name

None compare to Bessie
But though her race is run
Marrows are grown in Meridell
For eating and for fun

The best part of a marrow
The Wocky could not say
Whether the sweetness of the fruit
Or guessing what it weighs

So visit the kindly Wocky
Should you be in search of fun
To guess the weight of each day’s marrow
And see if you have won

Haunted Home
by mon1496

My toothbrush is floating,
my fridge is oozing,
and my garden growls,

We got Meepits galore,
better Feed Esophagor some more,
and the fair scams are always going

Our food stares back,
and our furniture is known to attack,
but the pastries sure are good.

graveyards every turn.
or a random urn,
also our candy corn attacks.

stay on the path,
avoid strangers wrath,
and leave the fair before dark.

the haunted woods my home.
but I'm not here alone.
my pets live happily besides me.

Wheel Haikus
by sdavidson915

Wheels are the best games
Each wheel is uniquely fun.
Let me explain them.

***

Want to know what's slow?
The wheel of monotony.
It just spins and spins.

***

Mediocrity.
The wheel is really quite plain.
At least it is cheap.

***

Wheel of Excitement?
There is so much I could win!
I just won a prize!!

***

Books and scrolls galore.
The Wheel of Knowledge will give.
Just give it a spin.
