Hot Dog Hero

In Neopia Central, on any given sunny day,
You can always find a line outside this stall.
People line up, willing to do anything to pay,
To get a famed hot dog, big or small.

Hubert the Mynci doles them out quick,
And the menu is more than your classic hot dog.
Some, like the Brain Hot Dog, make you sick;
Ordering multiple at one time and you’re a hog.

I like to be different and eat the jacket potatoes,
Or having a dipped corn dog on a stick.
Some are covered in veggies like tomatoes;
So many flavour options – how can one pick?!

Thieves are known to steal shipments from him,
Hubert has asked Neopia to stop them for good.
Imagining a hot dog stand empty is awfully grim,
Making it feel like the Neovia neighbourhood.

On Mynci Day, I raise a toast in Hubert’s honour,
Always a friendly face for a lunchtime meal.
If you’re too slow, these hot dogs are a goner;
Neopians everywhere know their appeal!

Mynci Beach Volleyball

To bask in sunbeams,
Feet firmly atop scorching sand,
With a smooth volleyball in hand.

The crowd watching in awe,
With each strike of the paw.
Yet none of them may truly know, 
What really sets the heart aglow.

The feeling of that first smashing spike,
As the force within my paw ignites
A flame which lights the passion in my heart,
But I know for this match, it is only the start.

Set the ball and set the pace;
Keep aiming for a service ace.
Pesky pawkeets try to ruin my flow;
Each point missed only makes my resolve grow.

Jump right back up with every fall,
From digs and dives to save the ball.
The sport's suspense presents a show;
"Just one more!" watchers shout in tow.

We play on this island of mystery,
To leave our mark on history.
In the beach volleyball hall of fame,
You'll proudly see this Mynci's name.

A Mynci Sits Upon A Branch

A Mynci sits upon a branch
High above the trees,
A tasty berry near his grasp
But barely out of reach.

He flails and flits and hops about,
The branches dip and rise,
But nothing seems to get him
Any closer to his prize.

"I'm so very hungry!"
Whines the Mynci from his perch,
"My growling stomach's clouded judgement
so I'm struggling in my search.

"Help me, fellow Mynci!" He cries,
"I'm caught in quite the pinch.
I'm so smart and strong and humble,
But I fall short by an inch.

It is very out of character
To ask for help like this --
and of course I won't *share* my prize,
but my thank-you won't be missed."

Another Mynci hears his plea,
Clever and nimble to boot.
"I'll get that berry down for you,"
And up the tree she scoots.

On a branch she perches high above.
Our hero chatters, "You're a peach!"
Then she launches out a Sticky Hand
And takes his berry out of reach.

The Maddening Mynci Bars: A Neopet's Lament

I bought those blasted Mynci Bars---
I thought they would be fun.
Yet I just didn't get too far---
My skills show when I run.
I tried to make my way across
The bars so many times,
Yet I was always at a loss---
I simply cannot climb.

I fell into a mud puddle
And ruined clothes and hair.
Bye-bye, my skirt of flashy tulle---
This really isn't fair.
I don't know how the Myncies can
Be nimble and so skilled.
O'er jungles leaps of monkeys span,
Their passion so fulfilled!

I guess I'll be a runner. So,
Just take the Mynci Bars.
They really are my greatest foe---
Impossible, they are.
If you're a Mynci, you'll enjoy
Them, but I never will.
I'll find myself some other toy---
Right now, I need to chill.

The Cellblock Escape

A legend of which you’ve heard tell
More fearsome than most
An unwelcome host
Master Vex, warden of the cells

He stands guard through the day and night
More than unwise to fight or flight
No hope of escape
Don’t get in a scrape
Or you will earn his righteous spite

It’s not all bad, so don’t lose hope
As a method to help you cope
Vex offers a game
(Rigged, but all the same)
It can help you try not to mope

Cellblock it is, it tests your skill
Although the battle is uphill
Five inmates you must beat
Plus three of Vex’s fleet
To have a chance at prayers fulfilled

If you can win against them all
Champion you will be called
Here, a trophy for you
Maybe an avatar too
And freedom, the best prize of all

Mynci Beach Volleyball Championship

You can feel the excitement on the sand—
The spectators clamour around the court. 
The Mynci Beach Volleyball champions
Are fending off a challenge in the sport.

A best of three contest— now in the third.
The reigning pair handedly won the first,
Then dropped the second in extra points;
Never before had their receive been worse.

The opposing Myncis entered the match
Without a perceived chance to win at all.
Now they’re tied up in sets and hope to
Seize the trophy of Mynci Beach Volleyball.

Several service errors and key spikes later,
The game is locked with the score 10 to 10.
First to 15 and win by 2 is all it would take
To finish the season, winning to its end.

An angle shot here, a stuff block there:
The Mynci pair take this advantage late.
The reigning champs adjust their passes
And match the score 12 to 12, straight.

One point is exchanged: a line shot leads
To a score, returned by a line shot back!
It’s 13 to 13, the underdog Myncis serving.
A freeball return leads to an open attack!

The score is 14 to 13, the titleholders one
Point away from first experiencing defeat.
The crowd grows silent as the Mynci serves—
An ace! The pair did it— a faerietale victory!

Content with the summer air. 

On Mystery Island,
Serenity is anything but illusory.
Another dream, filled with immeasurable peace,
He smiles, wrapped in a breeze.

Days are simple, 
Away from any muddling disquietude.
Tired of questioning;
Worries fade away.

With contentment and a smile on his face,
Towards the water he takes one step.
Look to the sky and trust,
Falling into blue.
