"Good lessons, I try to provide,
But the gap between your A's and C's is wide.
Our poor orchestra has all but died,
Tonu, please put singing aside!"

With a heavy heart and sad eyes, the Tonu replied,
"I always sing with joy and pride...
But I guess it's another skill I've been denied, 
I guess I will let my songs subside."

"You weren't completely awful," The teacher lied,
"You could always give music another ride."

"Truly?" The tears on the Tonu's face dried

"Yes, Tonu, I will teach you in stride,
As long as a pair of ear-plugs will be supplied."

Tonu Ball with a Twist!

After indulging in a hearty meal
A fun-loving Tonu seeks out thrill
He scours the jungle for a friend
In hopes they'll want to play again

He happens upon a familiar face
Nearly knocking into his friend in his chaotic race
The other Tonu greets him, beaming
"Hey, you! What brings you? What's the meaning?"

"I want to play a game of ball!" 
Tonus love this type of play the most of all!
The Tonu friend grins a massive grin
"Sure, I'll play - even if I don't win!"

The two friends scour the nearby land
On the hunt for a ball to finalize the plan
The friend finds one upon the ground, excitedly showing it to the other
"Let's play a game of Tonu Ball and then another!"

The friends run and whack the ball back and forth
They throw that ball with so much force!
When all of a sudden, a mysterious sound...
The Tonu friends, puzzled, glance around

What could it be? What does it mean?
The ball is making a... familiar ring!
Suddenly the ball cracks open and the friends see it - a Tonu's leg!
Why, that was never a ball! It was a Baby Tonu's egg!

This year on Tonu Day, let's honour the well known
of the species who have made us grow to love them.
Over time, it's a species that has really grown
on each and every one of us, partly because of them.

General Dacon commands the forces in the city
of Sakhmet, keeping Princess Amira safe too.
He's loyal and fierce, willing to get into the gritty
details to keep his city safe and sound.

The Magma Pool Guard stands watch over the pool.
He does his best to ensure that only citizens of Moltara
have access, though he does doze off during his rule.
Lucky for us, it means limited access to a precious place.

Professor Hugo Fairweather is esteemed among all,
but that wasn't true. He was once the laughing stock 
of The Seekers, but after his success, he was able to stand tall.
Now thanks to his discovery, we have gigantic petpetpets.

Last but not least, Wila Benne has been a loyal member
of the Tyrannian Altador Cup team for many years.
She's a star as their forward, someone all will remember.
She's even rescued Gruslens, which the team adopted.

Day and night he practices,
That's what he would say
When someone might ask him
How he beats even AAA.

This Tonu fills his shelves
With many trophies of gold,
But also bronze and silver,
He upgrades them fast, we're told.

Would he pause for a moment
To celebrate Tonu Day?

Every day was the same:
Eat some food, play a game
Dr. Grumps had a constant routine 
Day after day, he would just repeat

There is, however, one day a year
When Tonus everywhere come to cheer
The 21st of February is the day to celebrate 
But from his routine, Dr. Grumps won’t deviate

This Tonu Day, though, she hatched a plan: 
The little blue Cybunny, and with it she ran
She welcomed Lord Briartree into her crew,
Mr. Black, Sir Hefferton, and Lord Splunch too.

A party they’d throw together, they schemed,
To give Dr. Grumps a Tonu Day he’d only dreamed.
Splunch ordered food, the Cubunny made a cake,
But their Club Bowls game invitation was just a fake

On the 21st day of Awakening, Dr. Grumps arrived 
To play the game at which he was a mastermind.
He didn’t expect anything out of the ordinary,
But he was greeted with a sight full of merry!

Balloons and streamers decked the halls,
They’d spelt “HAPPY TONU DAY” out of game balls 
“This was unnecessary” he said, in true grumpy style,
But under that facade, Dr. Grumps cracked a smile. 

They ate, drank, and celebrated into the twilight,
But finally the time had come to say good night.
“Thank you for this,” Dr. Grumps said, his face aglow.
“But you owe me a real game—same time tomorrow?”
