Elephante Day Special

The Hospital Elephante

I am lying here, sick and tired in bed,
With the one very thing I’ve come to dread.
My head is throbbing from the aches,
In or out of the blanket, I’ve got the shakes.

Is it my seasonal allergies acting up again?
My eyes are puffed up, my nose is in pain.
Is it the flu, or something much, much worse?
Have I got the infamous Kikoughela curse?

Off to the hospital I go, for my checkup.
I’m certain I’ll be scheduled for follow-up.
I am formally diagnosed with Achy Head.
Need medicine to avoid the disease spread.

A short walk, and I’m at the Neopian Pharmacy.
A kind and gentle Elephante is awaiting me.
The shelves are lined with potential cures.
Looking up and down to find yours.

She ushers me to the section of creams.
Finding the Magic Goop, she positively beams.
We walk back to her counter to finally checkout.
I’m hoping this cure will help my poor snout.

Once every 6 hours, she prescribes to me.
Drink lots of fluids, including herbal tea.
Before I know it, I will be good as new.
I am sure glad this Elephante knew what to do!

Poem for the Guards from Grand Theft Ummagine

Our duty is to Sakhmet’s Queens and Kings
who delight in all kinds of splendid things—
whether gems or coins or other golden loot,
or avenues lined with exotic fruit.

Tcheas, baggusses, and sweet cheops plants
patrolled by our platoon of blue elephantes.
Ummagines, melons, and prickly puntecs
are the Desert’s treasures we swear to protect.

Our legs may be short and our wings may be small,
but elephantes make the best guards of all:
with ears that detect the slightest of sounds
and a snout that can trumpet when a thief is found;

Leather-tough skin and imposing size,
and speed that catches all by surprise;
Brave, honourable, and fiercely loyal—
is it any wonder we were chosen by royals?

Next time you admire our lush boulevards
give a wave and a smile to the elephant guards.
And if you crave a fruit to quench your thirst,
there are plenty to choose from--just pay for it first!

Celebrating Elephante Day!

Today is a wonderful, happy day!
It's a day to look at and celebrate
a species so unique, fantastic,
and all around so very great!

Of course, it's Elephante Day!
Twenty one long years ago,
we met the species that
we've come to love and know.

They're most well known
for their long trunks and ears,
but their fluffy little tails
are also worthy of cheers.

They even have petite 
wings tucked away on their back,
that help them hover some,
but flight is something they lack.

Native to Neopia Central,
but often found traveling about,
if you see an Elephante today,
be sure to give them a shout!

The Sneezing Elephante - An Ode to 200m Dash

In the glade there stand an Elephante
With a face red as a beet
Is he mad?
Is he sick?
Is he doing a trick?
Or melting in the heat?

No, sir, it's a game
That's been making a splash
Dating back to the days of yore
Down here in the clearing 
The time is soon nearing
For the world-famous Peanut Dash!

He'll launch a nut with his trunk
At ridiculous speed
With his Puppyblew friend in tow
Like a crack of a whip

He's at a good pace

Eyes ahead - mind that tree!
You've still got a prize left to seek!

Ahead, ahead, the peanut's in sight!
Just don't let it fall to the ground!

Past the logs, past the streams
(and past Meuka, it seems)
With a backflip to dazzle the crowds

He's done it! 
He jumps, with peanut in mouth
Yipping and yapping with glee!

We're done with your dreck
Time to pack up your bags and fly south!

It's a great time, I'm sure you'll agree
Its skill level is vast
It's fun, and it's fast

E for Elephante

The elegant Elephante,
per empirical fact,
is ever so elite;
their excellence enrapts.

So I shall explain
with these words exact
why they have no equal;
what enjoyment they enact.

Of them I am enamoured
of their ears, their tusk, their smile.
Their existence makes redundant
everything erstwhile.

Their energy unbounded!
Their endurance, it excels!
I do not embellish
that they're cut above all else.

No other being exotic,
eldritch or enigmatic,
might encroach upon their ilk;
of this I am emphatic.

I embellish upon this essay
to achieve explicitness:
I encourage you, exult
in their exquisiteness!

This euphoria I express,
and that you experience,
can be excited by none other
than elegant Elephantes.

So endeavour now today
to endear yourself to one
such creature so elevated
and have some Elephante fun.

Ode to the Elephante

Ground shaken under giant feet,
as the being moves down the street.
Dust fills the air around, 
and as it settles what is found?

A large creature, glistening in the sun.
But sure as Fyora it can run.
The Elephante stands proud,
trunk swaying, sure to draw a crowd.

A golden hat sits upon it's head,
ingrained with a glorious stone of red.
Delicate wings one can spy,
but one must wonder, can it fly?

A swift creature, remarkably fast,
guaranteed to make it past. 
Of note a talent an employee,
to guard the fruits of royalty.

Such bravery to challenge,
the one who tries to scavenge,
the Ummagine of the man,
the fruit thief Stan.

The foolish thief cannot escape,
cannot even get a sand grape.
For the great Elephante is on the case!
Always sure to give chase.

What a creature the Elephante!
Proud and strong as can be.
What a day to celebrate,
and rejoice for who could hate?
The wonderful Elephante!

Owning an Elephante

Though you may try, you can't look away
Your pet now stands tall as an Elephante
...Better get used to this new development

They may look big, but have no fear!
They're surprisingly lighter than they appear
Though flight is not possible with wings that size
They can use them to glide to everyone's surprise

An Elephante is known mostly for their hats
A hat so special, they're jewel encrusted at that
Only they can wear them, so they are pretty special
If you try to take it though you're in for a wrestle

With a trunk that large, you're in for a fight!
An Elephante has both the might and height
They like a good tussle so you better be ready
And with feet that big, they'll knock you unsteady

You'll notice their ears are bigger than most
They're proud of their hearing; they love to boast
Aside from their ears, their tails are pretty poofy
An Elephante grooms them nicely. As if that's their duty

I hope you have the budget; you're buying a lot of nuts!
They're an Elephantes' favorite. No if, ands, or buts
"A peanut a day, keeps the doctor away" they say
Though you're sure they're lying just to get their way

As you can see, this'll be a lot of work!
From head to toe, they sure have their quirks
It's fine though, it's all apart of their elegance
