Today we celebrate the beloved tonu,
A neopet born from an egg and slowly grew,
Mighty long horn, and majestic mane,
To have one as a pet, a magnificent gain,
Don't feed them neggs or they will be sick,
You'll have to take them to the hospital quick!

Their skin leathery and legs are quick,
Their tail hair's not particularly thick,
They come from Tyrannia, an ancient land,
The Tonu has four legs on which to stand,
Famous Tonus of the land stand only few,
But celebrate them we will, and give their due.

Hugo Fairweather of the Seekers is smart,
To find the Lost Isle he chose to depart,
At the Wheel of Extravagance a tonu is guard,
To spin it a lot of neopoints we have to discard,
Will you let us in, guard of the Magma Pool?
To paint our pets magma, a color so cool!

Tonus love to play games and run around,
From here to there they dash across the ground,
Enjoying their food they may consume too much,
But the fruit called negg they won't touch,
Today we gather and celebrate,
The Tonu of Tyrannia, a species so great!

This is the story of Ness the Darigan Tonu, 
Who had a strange problem that very few knew. 
He hardly ever left the comforts of his own home, 
Not even when his friends invited him to go out and roam. 
Often times, he pretended to have the Neoflu. 

You see, he was required for an avatar: 
One that involved participating in a spar. 
Unfortunately, Ness loved peace and hated to fight. 
His rejections to the endless invites were always polite. 
Then one night, he made a wish on a shooting star. 

The next morning, he suddenly had a notion 
To change himself using a transmogrification potion! 
Unbeknownst to him, mutant tonus are no good, 
Because now everyone will send him poisonous food. 
The curse of another tonu avatar is in motion.

Trial of the Tonu

As the day's first light
wakes Tyrannia's life,
A brave, young Tonu
Prepares for a fight

She knew this day would come
The great rumble of her kind
Out of all the contenders
victory can go to only one

She sets out that morning
with her humble sack on her back
as she said farewell to her kin
the Tonu promised to come back smiling

Into the jungle and ready to start
She observed her fellow Tonus
they were all ready to get started
She could feel a powerful beating in her heart.

It's off they go as the sun peaks from the trees
She fought wildly and held her ground
but she was tackled from behind, sour defeat
Her spirit crushed as time seemed to freeze

Downhearted and feelings hurt so vile
Her family reminds her that its not about winning
That they were proud of her, that's no lie
And as she had promised, she came home with a smile.
