Remembrance of a Schoolgirl
By ktempest

She was a little girl when I knew her,
Purple hair pulled back in pigtails,
And a light green dress with purple flowers.

She was also a schoolgirl, I remember.
She used to sit in the back of the class
And stick gum in the little girls' hair.

With soft purple eyes, and a sly smile,
She used to play with her sisters,
And break their dolls for amusement.

Sitting in the sunset, black wings behind her,
She used to wish for more than this,
She used to wish for something like love.

It's been years since I last saw her,
And I think of her everyday.
And even though I haven't spoken to her,
I often wonder what became of little Jhudora.

Meridell
By neoashia72

I look up into the cloudy sky,
All kinds of birds pass me by,
I am lying down on a hill so steep,
Then I saw it flash past me,
It was some dung cheese,
I get up and look about,
A fire Chomby is rolling it down.

I run down the hill,
And beat the cheese,
I wander about and think "where am I?"
I see a yellow Wocky near a huge marrow,
He looks at me and says,
"Can you guess its weight?"
I shake my head and say "32 pounds",
He giggles at me and says,
"Nowhere near. Well, at least you tried".

I wander again and I see a yellow Kacheek,
He is standing there near a hill of potatoes,
A pink Poogle near him says "34"
and the Kacheek shakes his head,
"36" The Kacheek answers.
I am worried now, where was I?
I see an Earth Faerie she looks at me
and says, "Come here."

I go over to her and she asks me
to get her a burger,
I return with it and she gives me some cookies.
I say thanks and then walk off.
I think I know where I am,
and then I see Bullseye,
I look around again, I see Shapeshifter.

I stand and think for a moment.
I then see Merifoods,
I also see Ye Olde Petpets.
A light bulb comes over my head.
I laugh over all this stress!
No need to call in the press,
After all it's only...

Vending Machine
By relanga

Those aliens must be crazy
They're surely 'round the bend
What is it with this vending thing
That large machine they tend?

It's big and red and glitzy
With buttons, cranks and stuff
Those nerkmids sure are pricy
But are the prizes good enough?

I tried it once, you see
Hoping I'd get something great
I jiggled levers, pulled on cranks
I simply couldn't wait!

When with a whirr and one big "THUNK"
My prize came rolling out
I gasped, I reeled, I staggered 'round
How had this come about?

For what sat there, my dear friends
Wasn't good, nor was it bad.
T'was a nice fine chocolate duck rump...
Yet my goodness! I've been had!

In righteous indignation
I snarled and kicked it high
Then stomped off to the Aishas
To ask them, "Why, WHY?!"

They blinked at me, befuddled
And then they asked me what-
Which special, shiny Nerkmid
Had I slid into the slot?

I blinked all in a tizzy
Then finally replied
"A Basic Golden Nerkmid."
"That's the problem!" they cried.

"Read the rules next time, sonny
For there it clearly states
'The better the Nerkmid, The better the prize'
Don't blame us for your mistakes!"

So learn this lesson too, my friends
It isn't right to accuse
Others for your own silly mistakes
When in fact, the trouble was -you-!

Caption Contest
By tiandrea

You look at the scene before your eyes
And wonder what to do.
This silent picture needs some words,
And they are up to you.
But why is it suddenly so hard
To think of something witty?
If you don’t at least take a chance,
It would be a pity.
So you think for a moment,
And come up with something great!
You type in your clever words
With a big smile on your face.
Then later you check nervously,
To see if your caption made it in.
It did! Oh, wow!
Maybe you can win!
You check back constantly to see
How many votes you’ve gotten.
And the old “voting for yourself” trick
Will not be forgotten.
Then at last that day comes
And the contest is done.
You feel great and proud
When you see you’ve won.

Flotsam and Jetsam
By sugarnhoney

Flotsam and Jetsam,
Deep beneath the rolling sea,
One very benevolent,
The other,
Hmm,
Lets see.

The Jetsam lurks in water black,
He is vicious, mean and cruel,
To get on his wrong side,
Is being a silly fool.

But if you can befriend him,
He will be loyal and quite true,
But if you if you fail in doing so,
His anger befalls you.

Flotsam and Jetsam,
Deep beneath the rolling sea,
One very malevolent,
The other,
Hmm,
Lets see.

The Flotsam loves the sunny skies,
He frolics to and fro,
He dances on the waves,
As fast as he can go.

He smiles and laughs the whole day long,
He likes to see you smile,
And what he likes to do a lot,
Is sing a happy song.

Flotsam and Jetsam,
Deep beneath the rolling sea.
Although they have their differences,
As friends they are meant to be.
