Today it’s a fifteenth anniversary celebration
Fifteen years ago they were still in the nursery
We celebrate one of the most resilient
Ruki are simply brilliant!

They can survive in extreme weather
Did you know they tend to group together?
Which is unique for a pet available in such a limited numbers
You most certainly can find them in lost desert summers!

Born and bred in the land of the sand!
You don’t do them a favor with a walk in the wet land! 
A very long hike on the other hand, is really their cup of tea
Speaking of tea, that’s really Anshu the ruki his speciality!

He is a famous ruki far beyond the Cydrake’s Gaze
Known as a good doctor, medicine expert. Everywhere he goes he receives praise!
He is probably the most famous of his species so I raise a glass to him as well
I admire him, in case you couldn’t tell!

The Ruki Wanderer

In the arid desert,
Occasional stillness,
A Ruki on alert,
For oasis to witness.

Gusting sandstorm rages,
And unrelenting heat,
Discovery for the ages,
Proves a rewarding treat.

Not all that meets the eye,
Are what is truly there,
The Ruki ponders why,
Confused and unaware.

For the oasis he sees,
Is just a camouflage,
Merely sand, not trees,
In the end, a mirage.

Ruki Wanderer

On Ruki Day, we get a break
From all the fur and feathers--
Instead I think about a ‘pet
In Legends and Letters.

Ruki Wanderer, a nomad,
Armed with an old compass--
He manages to traverse the sands
With his Desert Toughness.

One day, he stopped in town again,
To restock his supplies--
A local approached and stared at him
With worried, weathered eyes:

“Are you the traveling Ruki,”
She began to ask at last--
“Who makes the maps by voyaging
 Through the desert so vast?

“Beware that in the desert’s depths,
There is magic so drear--
In gets inside your heart and soul
And manifests your fear!”

“I’ll be okay,” he said as he
Walked bravely out of sight--
But still, he couldn’t help but ponder
The ghost he saw last night.

Ruki Round Up

If you want a pet that's tough
A pet that don't mind playing rough
A pet that knows the world at hand
A Ruki is where you oughta land

The Rukis love to travel far
From the seas till the most distant star
They're hardened both inside and out
They know what Neopia is all about

The Rukis are great in the Battledome
Opponents flee when they hear them roam
Rukis will make their owner proud
Chanting and cheering will be heard from the crowd

The Faerie Ruki

His head turns to stare,
His eyes a gentle gleam.
He half smiles, lazy and slow,
His wings a glossy sheen.

He floats as if in a dream,
Across the windswept plains.
Catching the light of the setting sun,
And the delicate drops of rain.

His song is a lullaby,
A perfect sweet tune.
As he sings the world stops,
In the golden hours of the afternoon.

The faerie Ruki, his heart of gold,
His glittering pinks, pale and bright.
His deep purple, royal and glossy,
Shimmering in the last of the sunlight.

Through the white clouds he floats,
His head held up proud and high.
He gazes down upon the worlds,
Before ascending higher in the sky.

Riley can Fly!

Riley the Ruki has a lot of bad days,
She always seems to have it rough.
Everyone looks at her and runs,
Looking like a big bug is tough.

All the others are always so scared,
Even though she's as friendly as can be.
She likes to have fun, run, and play,
Just give her a chance and you'll see!

Her legs are so strong,
She can beat anyone in a race.
Today is her day to shine,
There are Rukis all over the place!

She met so many new friends,
She can't even believe it!
So when you're down, just think good thoughts,
And no matter what, you can achieve it.

Just like Riley, she never gave up,
Even when nobody else came by.
Now with all her new friends,
She feels like she can fly!

Ode to the Second-Hand Shoppekeeper

In the Neopian Plaza, a little tucked away,
Is a gem of a place you should visit any day.

It’s the Second-Hand Shoppe and it’s quite a find,
On occasion you might find an item that’s divine.

You never know what items you might get,
It could be a pile of dung or a potato sack dress.

But if you have patience and maybe some luck,
You can find some great items that don’t cost a buck.

Who makes it all happen, you might ask,
There’s only one Ruki who’s up to the task.

The Second-Hand Shoppekeeper runs the show,
Although his real name no one knows. 

Still, he works hard day in and day out,
To help less fortunate Neopians out.

It’s this young Ruki’s dedication and hard work,
That make him such a reliable store clerk.

It’s a thankless job, that’s for sure,
But despite it all, the shoppekeeper endures.

A shout out on Ruki Day is the least he deserves,
So let’s say thank you from all those he serves.

Thank you, Second-Hand Shoppekeeper man,
From all of Neopia and from me, your biggest fan.

A Rukis Work Day

Come sun or rain, on any day
little rukis rather work, than play
Digging and cleaning through the dirt
who said hard work and toughness had to hurt?

It's easy to travel for this little guy
his shell protecting him from the sun in the sky
He will not tire till his job is done
for there is nothing else he'd like to do for fun

Making deliveries of all kinds
to digging deep into neopias gold mines
Or maybe even selling different goods
to all the many neighborhoods

Any job big or small
this little guy can do it all
Of course there is always a cost
neopoints that is, or he will tell you get lost

The sweet sound of coins, in a satchel at his side
is something that fills his heart with pride
To know he earned it all in a day
All from hard devoted work, and no play
