Lutari Island (Lutari Day)

Tucked away nicely,
far out into the ocean.
Never in the same place twice,
is an island without a lot of commotion.

It is covered by a deep fog,
so intriguing indeed.
A storm has been raging on the Island for quite some time,
no Neopets are aloud to proceed.

There are whirlpools and water spouts all around,
and lightening in the sky.
Even sea life is avoiding this Island,
that you cant go on no matter how much you try.

Everyone is hoping,
that today is the day.
The day the storm stops raging,
and to the Island Neopia can go and play.

The island is inhabited,
by Lutaris and that is it.
Since today is Lutari Day,
maybe the storm will finally split.

If this finally happens,
all of Neopia will be full of cheer.
To Lutari Island they will head,
to celebrate this special time of the year.

Come to Lutari Island to play
I'll tell you the gist
Of what lies 'neath the mist
Like the beaches where the lutari lay

Trees to climb up and the sea to swim in
And wading pools if you just want a limb in
Food fit for faeries
Like fruits and berries
It's the happiest land I have been in

So you're all ready for Lutari Day?
Grab your lutari and come out to play
Just be sure of your plans
And don't let him change hands
Or you will find that he's run away!

Lutari Paint Brush: Beautiful Yet Unusable

Lutari Paint Brush can't be used.
Too bad--it's certain to amuse.
The hues so bright are whimsical;
The patterns are quite mystical!

The swirls of yellow, blue, and green
Are something I have never seen
Before in any paint brush hue.
Of others, I have not a clue.

The feathers are so soft and bright--
They please the touch as well as sight.
The fibers, topped by shiny beads,
Are just what grumpy, sad pets need.

I wish that I could paint my pet
With this amazing brush. Not yet!
Lutari Island's look is grand,
Yet pets know little of this land.

For something to see
The Lutari are floating
Come watch them with me

They've been playing all day
Just splashing about
Now they need rest
Cause they're all tired out

Down through the river
They're all floating by
They're peacefullu napping
Their heads in the sky

They just look so rested
I wish i'd join them too

Being fooled by the fog
I finally set my boat

No one was to be found
And I sighed in disbelief
As the fog thickened
And my sight became so brief

Suddenly I was so blind
I couldn't know what was going on
And when I opened my eyes again
I was in bed, in my home

Was that just a dream?
Seemed so real I can't say
But one thing I'm pretty sure
I'm going back some day

We can still debate.
Most likely from the island, of course
So claims the most important source

The island pet is called Lutari
And their homeland is mystique
They can be painted Zombie or Starry
Or 45 other colors you might seek

They are friendly and furry
Quite alike an otter
They are great, don't worry
Run the fields and the water swatter

You'll be lucky to obtain one
Make sure it doesn't disappear
Then you'll feel like your all alone
Without having your friend near

This was the way,
And so long as she had
The ocean as a comrade

And the elements,
Temperaments,
And breath steady,
Always ready 
To face what would come her way,
She would stay,
Face challenges when all seemed grey,

See the beauty
As herself the Happy
Furry
Little Lutari
In the sun and rain,
The cycle starts again,
And all smiley

She will be
Happy
Furry
Little Lutari.

Larry's Contest

Larry the Lutari had a secret to share,
No matter what he couldn't hold it in.
He had to find someone to tell,
Someone to be able to share his win.

You see Larry had entered a huge contest,
Even though nobody even suspected.
He always dreamed he'd come out on top,
Imagining the gold was what he reflected.

He had his other draw him while swimming,
Since that was how he loved to be.
And enter it in the Beauty Contest,
Just so everyone else could see.

Larry looked splendid,
He was so happy and proud.
And the more votes he got,
The more his cheers grew loud.

It was nearing the end,
And his eyes couldn't believe it.
Larry came out victorious,
Thanks to all who helped him achieve it!

Ode to Lutari

On the 19th day of the Month of Eating
there shall be no species more worthy of meeting.
On an island you may find
a new aquatic friend - the very best kind!

Worthy of affection, they will love you back
they're always willing to share their snack!
They're amazing, wonderful, and they're sly
(and if you ditch them things may go awry)

There is no better pet,
forever I will be an advocate!
So please join me when I proudly say:

Lutari Island

Floating in the distance, 

There is a mysterious land. 

Surrounded by heavy fog, 

This island looks quite grand. 

 

Forever drifting along the current, 

Never staying in the same place. 

Lutari Island is beautiful, 

And has a certain grace. 

 

But do not be fooled by its beauty, 

For this is a dangerous land. 

The winds are blowing a gale, 

Kicking up debris, rocks and sand. 

 

The thunder claps so loudly, 

As lightning illuminates the sky. 

These storms are truly dreadful, 

Poor Lutaris, all they must do is cry. 

 

But maybe once the storm settles, 

Whenever that maybe. 

Lutari Island will be amazing, 

We will just have to wait and see.

One sunny afternoon, I headed down to the bay,
To sit back and watch the Lutaris at play.
They'd float on their backs and dive down for kicks,
I'd watch them perform all kinds of tricks.

Watching them swim is a form of art,
You can tell that the water speaks to their hearts.
They glide through the swells with the utmost grace.
Against them, I wouldn't win any race.

If you catch them on land, they'll certainly play,
But swimming is how they spend most of their day.
A happier creature you surely won't find,
Even if you wrack the depths of your mind.

You can't abandon them or they will run away,
So be sure to note that they're here to stay.
There I sit longingly watching them swim,
Wishing that I could go join them on a whim.

In a land with strange creatures,
Who possess strange features,
With their cheeky smiles,
They'll make it worthwhile.

Lutaris and their sharp claws,
Oh wait, or are they paws?
With their underwater skills,
One would think they had bills.

A shame that there are so little of them,
These creatures certainly are a gem.
However, once a year they'll multiply,
Their creation brings a wondrous cry.

Let's celebrate this island and its wonderful beasts,
Perhaps with a magical feast?

The Secrets of the Lutari Talisman

There is one trophy,
That everyone has.
It’s purpose remains a mystery,
It’s origins are in the past.

Coloured feathers ornament the charm,
In the middle are empty spots,
For mystical beads,
Held in place by simple knots.

The beads are red, yellow, blue or green
Improve strength and luck in unknown ways
But present-day,
They’re nowhere to be seen.

There might be one,
That understands the knickknack,
But alas, this Lutari is also gone.
The Island’s guide left,
With the secrets of the artefact.
