Excitement is spreading across the land, 

For today is a special day. 

A time to celebrate Chia's everywhere, 

A gathering without delay. 

 

These small and joyful characters, 

Bring their owners lots of fun. 

Playing, bouncing and being silly, 

Entertaining everyone. 

 

They come in a variety of fruits and vegetables, 

So juicy and very plump. 

Chia's are always in a good mood, 

And never ever in a grump. 

 

So, let's all cheer for these colorful pets, 

For they are truly the best. 

After all it is their birthday, 

If you haven't already guessed.

The Chia Colossus, Chiazilla

Us Maraquans may never hear from you again,
That thunderous roar reverberating like a tremor.
Your seaweed green skin continues to go unseen
Beneath the sea. Your existence is simply rumors,
The ruins of our dreams.

Your size is unrivaled, you seem unreal to us now:
The monstrous brute of a creature we call Chiazilla.
It’s been decades since you’ve contacted our world.
With that elusiveness and unexpected Chia charisma,
You are a being of lore.

As tradition, we leave you offerings every year,
Though we shall never know if they are received.
It’s guesswork to please a fanged enigma of a beast.
We solemnly discuss your absence when we convene,
Behemoth of the deep.

Maybe the currents whisked you away suddenly,
Or perhaps you wanted the freedom of new waters,
Uncharted for your privacy or gigantic spatial needs.
You used to be dually the predator and protector,
Valued for your heroic deeds.

Maybe you returned to Mystery Island after all,
To ask their king for his overdue forgiveness.
Admittedly, he should be the one with regrets,
Since he asked you to find the runaway prince—
An impossible quest.

One day, we anticipate you’ll return out of the blue.
Until then, we survey the ruins of old Maraqua and new,
Entangled in oblivion, an unknowing vortex in stasis:
We wonder if the waves breaking overhead could be you,
Our Chia Colossus.

Chia are friends NOT food

I am a Lupe,
Here to tell you today,
That Chia's are friends,
Not food,
Despite what the other lupes say.

Although it might be in our DNA,
To want to gobble them up,
I mean,
What pup could resist,
A walking fruit cup?

Chias can turn into:
Pineapple to tomato,
Peach to chokato,
Pepper to avocado,
The list goes on and on.

To make matters worse,
(To add to our hunger curse),
Our special treats are shaped as tasty chia,
Carrot, chocolate, strawberry,
More!
We will stand,
Beg,
Even play dead,
Just to have a a bite from its yummy head.

Oh dear,
I seem to have showed off the lupe's weakness,
When it comes to Chias today,
But I will say it again,
That chia are our friends,
And NOT food,
(although we are inclined to think)

Chia Day Friendships

Tip toeing through the kitchen,
The Chia are on a special mission,
Covered in chocolate and sprinkles,
They tread carefully over tablecloth wrinkles.

The Lupe below loudly snores,
As the Chia rush out of the drawers,
To become a snack is their biggest fear,
As closer and closer to the door they near.

You see Lupe and Chia cannot,
Be friends though it's a nice thought,
So on this very special day,
Their excitement must be held at bay!

Neither whisper nor laughter,
Can be heard in the rafters,
Of this cozy Neopian home,
Through which the Chia roam.

But then...

CRASH!

BANG!!

The terrified Chia scurry,
All in a terrible, awful hurry,
But to their dismay,
The Lupe is in their way,
Eyes sleepy and blurry!


He rubs his eyes, stretches, and yawns,
His fur a deep lustrous bronze,
Then startled he gasps,
Then quickly he asks,
Is it Chia day already?

All day I meant to wish you,
A Happy Chia Day, the only issue
Was I couldn't seem to find,
Any of you - I must be blind!

Happy Chia Day! He sang,
And then with a a sharp pang,
The Chia began to realize,
Maybe Lupe can be allies,
And in their troubled eyes,
The Lupe would never be the same.

From that day on,
Their fear of Lupe was gone,
For they realized the hate,
From which that fear was drawn,
Was a misunderstanding - vast and great.
Now together we can all celebrate!

The wait for Chia Day

The Chia waited patiently

First was the month of Sleeping, a month for the lazy

It all started with the start of year 20

He then hoped the sheered Gnorbu would not be grumpy

The Buzzes celebrated by flying fiercely

Then there a celebration for the lack of Sloth's victory

The Elephante celebrated by stomping around loudly

Then a day for all the Kacheek to bask warmly

Now it was the month of Awakening, the goal he could see

The Zafara all got around to celebrate the ability to become candy

Next, was a day for the best (at least in his opinion) fairy

Then a day rightfully earned for all Lenny

Coming up next was the day where every Neopet shared there love wholeheartedly

Finally it was time for the day he could be carefree

As long as no one found his chocolate shell tasty

Oh well he decided he should be fine and go on a spree

On the day for all Chias to be happy

Wandering again into the laboratory,
Chias are eager to tell the story,
of how they turned into a tasty
pleasant looking show of pastry.

Many owners made the math,
they conceived it won't be fast,
but to own a living chocolate,
they became constant and passionate.

Once before they told a myth,
you become the food you eat,
but after years of testing faith,
their poor pets just gained weight.

Chocolate Chias, the perfect combination,
of fantasy, reward and determination.
Such a charming faithful company,
it's a shame the sun's their enemy.

Fruit and Vegetable Chia friends

It would make me really happy,
I may even shed a tear
If I could have every squishy
Vegetable painted chia.

Little Avocados and Pears
are the Apples of my eye,
And Gooseberry and Thornberry 
Are just the smartest little guys.

Aubergine and Pineapple
So adventurous they would be!
But Durian and Blueberry
Prefer to stay at home with tea.

I would snuggle them in baskets,
Little fruit bowls full of joy!
We would read stories together
Each with their very own toy.

Playing together everyday:
The closest of friends they’d be,
Asparagus and Plum and Grape,
As close as a pod full of Peas!

Lemon and Lime are really sweet:
They‘d bring back every petpet,
From every corner of the land,
That Carrot asked them to get.

Few would be as competitive
As Orange and Chokato,
Every game would be a challenge
Against Pepper and Tomato.

Yes it would be a Peachy life
If they could call me a friend,
We would look after each other
And the joy would never end.
