I hate to take a bite of this
Most appetizing treat.
I love to gaze upon its face,
So "Kougra," kind and sweet.

Its eyes are large and wondering.
Its nose is broad and round.
Its smile is wide and genial,
The finest ever found.

The Cookie's topped with frosting, and
It melts within my grasp.
The face is warping, softening!
I'm startled, and I gasp!

Apparently I have to eat
This Cookie speedily!
I cram the Cookie in my mouth
And munch it gleefully!

Oh, how delightful it does taste!
I lick my fingers clean!
This Cookie is the very best
Of sweet, dessert cuisine!

The Kougra Commander

Stern expression and a heavy-set jaw
He puts other leaders to shame.
Unwavering presence and perfect posture
Commander Gormos is his name.

Steadfast and unfalteringly loyal he was
Or so was Dr. Sloth’s impression.
Thus he was bestowed a weighty duty,
To serve by leading Sloth’s battalion.

The Kougra Commander took on his role
More seriously than he thought possible.
As a faithful follower of Dr. Sloth,
He yearned to attain his approval.

Day and night he led Sloth's troops,
With only victory in sight.
He earned a strong and worthy reputation
Of being cold and precise.

Then one day his master sought his aide,
To “do away with those two pests!”
Gormos took one look at the victims,
And knew he was facing a test.

Gorix and Cylara pleaded and begged
For Gormos to spare them their lives.
And the Kougra Commander flinched,
For the first time since he'd arrived.

Not one to waste time with decisions,
Gormos swiftly made up his mind.
“Run, run, and don't look back!”
And with that, Sloth had been defied.

The Kougra Commander was a leader,
One of the best leaders ever known.
Indeed, he worked for Dr. Sloth,
But he still had a mind of his own.

Kougra Day

the sky is blue.
Today is a huge celebration,
there is so much to do.

Today is full of laughter,
of joy and of fun.
Today is a very special day,
the brings Neopian's together as one.

Everyone is happy,
and cannot help but cheer.
For this very special day,
only happens once each year.

All over Neopia you hear folks say:
"Hooray, Hooray."
Everyone is celebrating,
its Kougra Day today!

New Kougra paint brush colors,
will hopefully come out today.
Hopefully something new and different,
like candy or marble gray.

New items will also be released today,
probably wearables and food.
Maybe  a pretty dress,
or shoes with lots of attitude.

Whatever today brings,
will be full of magic and fun.

The Marshmallow Kougra: The Mirage Whom I Long For

That Kougra of Marshmallows, sweet,
Shout be the newest hue,
Yet this pet of yummy treats
Is false. I really do
Desire this cat of brightest moods,
So tasty and divine.
Yet he wouldn't be my food—
He'd be a friend of mine!

His fluffy body, sure to please,
Would help his lovely dance
Acheive pure whimsy. Grace won't cease
When mallows boost his prance.
Imagine him—his dash o'er clouds
Would thrill me to no end.
His statement would be very loud.
Too bad he's just pretend!

I long for Kougras made of fluff,
Yet only Grundos will
Bear Mallow hues, That's not enough—
My soul will surely fill
With gloom that's never going to fade
Until this cat befriends
The Mallow Grundo. Moods of shade
Are what new pals would end.

The Wraith Kougra

I simply do not see the appeal
Of painting pets Wraith, what's the big deal?
They're eerie, evil, downright criminal,
With their frightening smiles and flailing tendrils.
Except for one, they're too much trouble.

The Kougra is different from all the rest,
His grin is adorable, I must confess,
His eyes slant forward in innocent cheer,
His tiny paws inspire no fear,
Really, the Kougra is just too dear.

Whoever created the chilling Wraiths
Must've made the Kougra on a happy day.
Look at his ears, so swirly and large,
He is the cutest Wraith by far,
To think I could own one? Be still my heart!

He looks like he'd be the playful type,
Pouncing and prancing day and night.
Anything you throw, he'd fetch with glee
Anything you cooked, he'd happily eat.
"Who's a good boy?" "Yes, it's me!"

With Kougra Day approaching, perhaps I could
Conquer my fear of Wraiths for good.
A cute little canine to be my new friend,
I'll paint him, love him, and maybe then
I won't be so scared of his Wraith brethren.
