Happy Ogrin Day!

You rarely hear Neopians talk about Ogrin's,
which is strange as they are really great.
With there kind eyes and fluffy hair,
there is nothing about them to hate.

So lets take a moment to think about Ogrin's,
they are special in so many ways.
Today is Ogrin day,
I wish this celebration could go on for days.

I wonder what special things today will bring,
Maybe they will release new Ogrin things.
Maybe it will be new paint brush colors,
or maybe wearables like rings.

Whatever today has in store for Neopia,
im sure it will be lots of fun.
There will be cheer all around,
as well celebrate every Ogrin under the sun!

The Elderlygirl Ogrin

The Ogrin sits in rocking chair,
Her hair a snowy white.
A lustrous coat of silky main,
And glowing sapphire eyes.

A violet frame sits upon her nose
- Through which, the Ogrin sees the world. 
Her sight's somewhat impaired 
Though she's not at all despaired 
- As she knows she's an Elderlygirl.

The Ogrin's seen the years long past,
And through them, she has grown. 
Both in body, spirit and mind,
Where memories have been sown.

She looks upon the past with joy, 
And to the future with hope.
Thus she lives each day with smiles, 
Rather than frown and mope.

The Ogrin Poet: An Ode to Fashion

Forsooth and prithee
You may as well say
If you wear Ogrin Poet gear
On this Ogrin Day.

With Poet Hat donned
And Beard well in place
You can ponder in couplets plus
Write lines full of grace.

Seize your Quill and Parchment
To jot down some verses!
Try penning thrilling adventures
Of rogues plagued by curses!

Ruffled Shirt, Trousers, Shoes:
It's all part of your look.
For you must appear in fashion
When writing your book.

Though words are crucial,
And rhyme is your tool,
Your Poet outfit, dear Ogrin,
Will make you look cool!

The Elderly Ogrin

Many things, in your youth, you have seen
Winters, summers and in-between
Ogrins are wise and accept the slow march of years
There is no need for tears, only cheers

Another birthday, another chance to recount
Joys that you have experienced in such amounts
"Why envy the young !" you always say
When they can't rest and must pave the way

The adventures and peril, you leave to others
Even if you'll never give up nature's wonders
Like all Ogrins, your words remain gutsy
A proof that old age does not mean apathy

Outside, the snow is crisp and the wind strong
You, cozy in blankets and singing a song
Family and friends soon join in
"This is felicity", you think with a grin

The Master Ogrin’s Ode of Lessons

I see more than others see,
although much stranger;
what my eyes do not witness
is what my ears always hear, 
my nose often smells,
 and my feet’s regard of daily danger.
My sight is at a blank,
but the rest of me is at my best;
though I’m short-handed by a fifth,
the rest allows me to live life’s test:
how else does one know smooth silk
 besides a stroking touch?
Honey smells and tastes as sweet,
not seen afar on a branch perched!
Yet what sorrows these ears have heard
from the Naleap’s nightly dirge!
My senses are my brush,
painting a palette of passions;
a fruit dish for the soul’s rations.
Though life is brief, there is much joy
in finding what Neopia supplies.
If any lesson comes from this,
is not confuse these life differences:
throwing caution to the wind
and taking life in strides.

The unfortunate Ogrin

Some poor pets just seem
to get all the bad luck
Things just get worse and worse
and hits like a truck

He's been the victim of Boochi
And has had his colors changed twice
And the one time he got married
it turned out to not be nice.

His businesses don't seem to succeed
and as such, his wallet is never full
and recently he was taken and
almost eaten by cannibals.

What disaster will befall him
When this year rolls around?
The Advent Calendar will tell us
when the twenty-eight comes round.

Will he escape the captors he had
or worse, will he fail?
Will he be able to escape only to
wind up in super villain jail?

All that we know is that
the story won't end well
for this poor Ogrins luck
makes his life a living Moltara.

The Swamp Gas Ogrin

I must admit, I laughed out loud
At this most sorry pet.
It looked so silly, ludicrous.
I giggled, with regret.

The Ogrin is a lovely pet
With such a sweet, kind face.
Its mouth is curved into a smile.
Its eyes are full of grace.

And yet, the Swamp Gas Ogrin is
A pet most laughable.
Instead of being small and cute,
It looks quite damnable.

It's graced with olive stink lines that
Waft upwards from its ears.
Please hold your nostrils closed, because
Its stink will give you tears.

Its color is the darkest green,
Evocative of slime.
Its eyes are dark and oozing, and
So crusted with green grime.

Its muff, which ought to be so soft,
Is dank with mildew, mold.
It's gooey and so very wet,
So creepy to behold.

Please pity this poor Swamp Gas pet.
It wants your love and care.
Despite its spooky, eerie looks,
It doesn't mean to scare.

It's Ogrin Day, so please create
An Ogrin that you'll love!
Perhaps the Swamp Gas Ogrin is
The pet you're dreaming of!

An Ogrin Morphing Potion

Within the walls of Magic Shop,
At shelves they do await.
To grab the potion, vivid, bright,
Before it’s not too late.
With baited breath, what will it be?
Please stock! They do implore!
The hue doth matter less and less,
An Ogrin they wish for!

There, at last, the potion sits,
And bought with lightning speed.
At last the magic, brilliant brew,
That fills that Ogrin need!
A merry sip- now hold your breath,
What wonders may unfold?
Watch the transformation, grand,
As magic takes its hold.

Four shiny hooves to clop the path,
A tuft of frenzied mane.
Stripes ripple down the creatures back,
A wonder- can’t explain!
The ears do lift above mane’s tuft,
The gangly legs, so thin.
And there the flash of magic, done,
With one bright Ogrin grin.

No more the waiting in the store,
For now, an Ogrin pet!
The paintbrush choice remains unseen,
There’s lots to think of yet!
A rainbow beast? Or maybe spots?
The shine of crimson bright?
No matter what, my Ogrin choice,
Was without question right!
