EYRIE DAY SPECIAL

The Majesty of an Eyrie
by binky1260

A draik or pteri on the wing
Is such a lovely sight,
But none compare to the majesty
Of an Eyrie in full flight.

Each downbeat of her sweeping wings
Carries her ever nearer
To ethereal clouds of gossamer
And crystalline clean air.

And now, so high above the land,
She calms her outstretched wings,
And soars above the lush landscape
Of peasants and of kings.

For, here above the fray of life
Her freedom is complete;
She will close her eyes to better feel
A sense of perfect peace.

On Eyrie Day
by alynda

On Eyrie Day, come one come all,
To the tropics, way up high.
These creatures live up in the trees,
Their wings do help them fly.

On Eyrie Day, let's celebrate,
Make memories with friends.
Let's share all of our wisdom,
So our knowledge never ends.

On Eyrie Day, let's do a jig,
Whether you're young or old.
For there never was a Neopet,
More inquisitive and bold.

On Eyrie Day, head to the pound,
And adopt one for your own.
You'll not regret it for a bit,
Nor the love you will be shown.

Eerie Eyries
by missynom

It can be a tad alarming
though some claim them to be charming
to encounter unexpected
half an lion, half a bird

Both these halves are joined together
And they've been around forever
Been through changes big and small
Most were converted but not all

These creatures are delightful
Although some would think them frightful
They can walk around, four legged
Or fly around, horn headed

Whether you admire and revere them
Or dislike and find them fearsome
You can't help but to admit
Eyries are eerie and that's it

Sir Eyrie Says
by secant

I met an old Eyrie the other day
Walking home from neoschool;
He wore a top hat and a suit of grey
And sat upon a stool.

"Young lad," said he, "listen, have I
Got a great tale for you!"
And in the blink of an eye
He was telling me all he knew

Of every great Eyrie in the land,
From Captain Threelegs to Lord Kass.
(Though Lord Kass is not particularly grand,
But then again, I digress.)

Said Sir Eyrie, "I've met Eyrieki
In the hushed dead of night.
He was a delightfully dreadful mummy,
And had given me quite a fright!"

With monocle in hand, Sir Eyrie huffed
And said, "Now ends my tale of woe!
I hope you gleaned a whole bunch of stuff
About the most wonderful Neopets in show!"

And to this day, I still remember
Sir Eyrie and his top hat and suit,
Sitting atop the stool like a charter member,
Retelling his tales, astute.

An Eyrie Daughter
by cosmic_major

My back, my wings,
My tropical feather forge--
Are, for you alone.

For though my eyes
Wander to the great cloud,
And witness wonder;

Claws trembling cold,
Wings in clenched paintings
Of anxious dreaming;

My mind sparking,
In itself, a rainbow swath
Of gorgeous mist;

Distant Faerie floor,
Beautiful as it may be,
Is no family of mine.

Stone Shenkuu tower
Quivers with chills in
The falling night,

While we sit
Warmly,
Together.

Branston the Eyrie: Dance Floor to Cheat
by outlander_

Branston the Eyrie,
King of the dance floor,
Music flows through his veins,
He dances with passion,
With nothing else on his brain.

One day,
After dancing the night away,
He happened to stumble on a game,
A game with as much passion as he,
He just had to stay and see.

Cheat,
The name of the game,
Was played by Carpa,
And Little Timmy,
"Would you like to play"
They asked Branston,
With glee.

And so after playing,
The first game,
Branston was hooked!
Now dividing his time,
Between his two passions,
Dancing and Cheat.

Eyrie Colours
by sky_lady

Electric, unique as the sky.
Perfect for all the Eyries,
unless they are really shy.

Yellow, as shiny as the sun.
It is such a basic colour,
but they still have fun.

Royal, the prince and princess.
They can be very spoiled,
most of times in excess.

Island, the exotic paint brush.
Think twice when choosing,
you don't have to rush.

Eventide, we are still waiting for.
It is just a pretty colour,
but there are a lot more.

Jahbal
by guineadan

A hulking frame within a solitary crypt,
of Circle of Twelve title stripped.
Grotesque talons grip a staff of oak,
White fur jutting from a crimson cloak.

Though this hair is as white as snow,
Verdant eyes full of woe
Pierce the acrid air of malice
Emanating from the halls of the Two Rings Palace.

"And for what?!" the Eyrie shrieked,
Through a jagged beak his breath reeked.
"Cadaverous sorcery, I did bring
To quell the revolt at Kal Panning."

"Oh blissful terror", grinning with malign
Over the languid soul of Faleinn,
Traipsing restlessly through a city demolished;
A trophy of resistance abolished.

And with a huff, his bones groan to life.
Ice cold blood runs through his veins;
His oaken lifeline,
Casting spells of shock,
Fire,
And ice,
Conjuring creatures from his abyss of
Dejection,
Of years bygone.
Freedom
Seeping through palace walls,
Sent to constrain,
Sent to demolish,
Sent to destroy.

And yet Jahbal lies in incarcerated existence,
Trapped in his prison with the insistence
That the most powerful seer
Will one day reappear.

Creature of Old
by ladygaladriel213

A figure is shrouded in the finest of mists, a shadow amongst silvery threads.
His talons click loudly, his head lifts proudly,
And like a phoenix his giant wings spread.

A sparkle of light brightens the fog, sprinkling dappling coins of gold.
His looming presence draws near, those around tremble in fear,
Before this well-known creature of old.

The cliff is silent all around, his eyes as sharp as blades.
A soft wind is moaning, the rock-face is groaning,
As slowly the sunlight now fades.

She hides her face behind a mask of cloud, lingering where none can see.
For she caught sight, of the creature's awesome might,
And immediately turned to flee.

He controls steady breaths quite easily now, his nostrils flaring with power.
He lunges forward with a dive, and spreads his wings wide,
Leaping off of his cold stony tower.

The air skims his body as he soars, tingling all over with the scent of being free.
Nobility clings to his every dip, his every tuck, and turn, and flip,
Lavishing in being an Eyrie.

He looks below at the patchwork land, sewn together with caring hands.
He dives low to touch the water, to smile at the Ocean's daughter,
And feel the heat from the tumbling sand.

Climbing higher now to watch the forests, leaves trembling as he approaches near.
He brushes their shivering stems, taking care with these emerald gems,
Casting away all of their fear.

He surveys all the kingdoms from his vantage point, lingering along his way.
He has tasted and seen, of his world so green,
In his celebration of Eyrie day.

With Love - Ode to the Eyrie
by handuran

Eyrie, Eyrie
Glide, glide, glide --
Into the diamond filled night.
Eyrie, Eyrie
Dive, dive, dive
Into the puffy clouds, so bright.

Swooping gracefully, like a feather
Griffin-like beast, released from its tether.
Dipping over the coast, soaring past trees
In the midst of it all, this Eyrie is free.

Eyrie, Eyrie
Sway, sway, sway --
Put on your sky circus parade.
Eyrie, Eyrie
Loop-de-loop, de loop --
We will join your sweet serenade.

Landing to a flow, flickering to the ground
Cheers followed, from all around.
Dear Eyrie, why thank you, for being so glorious
With love from Neopets, and all of us.
