A Shoyru's Flight
By BlueSoccerSwirl
Soaring high above Faerieland
Swooping down on Krawk Island's sand
Flying through the Haunted Woods
Snatching a few Lost Desert goods
Over Mystery Island with the most splendid beach
Soon Tyrannia feels within reach
Zooming over volcanoes
At the greatest of speeds
Then gracefully landing in a heap of weeds
Down for a quick but pleasant break
She hastily eats a Blumaroo Steak
Then prepares to take off for flight yet again
Hoping this journey will never end
Once in the air she changes direction
Heading towards Virtupets Space Station
A loudspeaker booms "Shoyru's, get out of sight!"
Giving this Shoyru quite a fright
Realizing she's not wanted here
She heads for a place with a bit more cheer
To Happy Valley—what place would be better?
But Terror Mountain's so cold,
She'll be needing a sweater
Swiftly she flies to the Neopian Bazaar
Knowing Uni's Clothing is a shop up to par
Buying a Flotsam sweater for 50 NP
She continues her flight to Happy Valley
Upon her arrival she begins a snow war
Until the other Neopets couldn't take it anymore
Shooing her out of their now disturbed place
She sadly wandered into the dark Ice Caves
Running into the angry Snowager
The horrible beast began to chase her
But that overgrown ice worm for her is no match
This Shoyru's got powerful wings
Nothing can catch
Then soaring up to the mountain peak
She sees someone else—why it's a Kacheek!
She approaches with caution noticing its hue
"This Kacheek is like me, she's all around blue!"
They played together and became great friends
Sadly, that's not how this story ends
She missed her siblings and had to return home
Taking off, leaving her friend all alone
She raced up to the clear blue sky
A tear resting in her mystical eye

My Day At Neopets
By Web98
At just about nine in the morning,
When I'm not at the schoolhouse and learning,
I would go brush my teeth
Without sickening grief
And at breakfast, for Neopets I'm yearning.
And at ten forty-five, just about,
If my family's not going out,
Then my desktop's turned on
While I sit there and yawn
'Til I go on the net with no doubt.
Then, the first place I click is the bank,
And I empty my till 'til it's blank
Then I restock my shop
'Til it's filled to the top
Which I checked on the Wiz for it's rank.
After that, I wait slowly in line
To be blessed by the Great Coltzan's Shrine.
I walked up to the crown
After that, I looked down
I saw food on the ground, which was fine.
I played some flash games for a while,
And I beat my high scores by a mile.
But I looked at the charts
And I said, "Well, that smarts!
Well, at least I had done it with style."
All defeated, I go to Tombola,
On the Island 'mid bunches of flora.
While I thought about dinner,
He said, "You're a winner!"
What I got was cans of Neocola.
Happy Valley was next on the list.
(Boy, I wish that the snow would desist).
And the feelings (a guess)
When I saw that big chest,
Was a state of emotional bliss.
I went back to the island to trade
For my pet wants a Scorchstone of jade.
But, as I expected,
They all have rejected.
(I got my pet some lemonade.)
Then my mom said, "Turn off the computer!"
Well, I did and hopped onto my scooter,
And I rode for a bit,
And you have to admit:
Don't you think that my day was a hooter?

Uni's Hair
By Sea_starr
In January, Uni's hair
Was like the wild mane of a mare.
In February, my Uni thought,
Just for a change she'd cut it short.
In March, my Uni painted it red
And stacked it high upon her head.
In April, she went to the Beauty parlour
to change her hair to a different colour.
In May, her hair grew long and big,
so she shaved it and wore a wig.
In June, when it had grew once more,
A rainbow ribbon Uni wore.
And in July, like other Neogirls
My Uni had a mass of curls.
In August, getting tired of that,
she combed it out and brushed it flat.
In September, my Uni's hair
had silver streaked here and there.
And in October, just for fun,
she tied her hair up in a bun.
November, Uni chose to spend
making her hair stand up on end.
And by December, Uni's mane
Had grown unruly once again!

The Choice
By Likuko
I will create a new Pet today.
I wonder who should I choose on this Friday?
Should I get a cute Acara?
Or should I get a weird-looking Zafara?
Maybe I should choose a cool Techo
Or a fire breathing Scorchio.
I don't know if a Uni
Can swim like a Tuskaninny
Or if a Quiggle
Can be cuter than a Poogle.
But I do know that a Chomby
Can accidentally step on a Lenny
And that an Elephante
Can do the same to an ant.
Maybe I should choose a non-legged Kiko
Or maybe a long-legged Nimmo.
I bet that a Pteri
Can capture any Faerie
Or that a Kougra
Can do the same to a Meerca
How about a nice-looking Flotsam?
Or maybe a mean-looking Jetsam.
I have decided!
I will be delighted.
I will choose a Krawk
Because I like his walk.
RESTRICTED?!
My choice has been evicted
Now my mind
Is eager to find
A way to get
My desired pet.

Poogle Races
By Lordess_chizzy
I look around and there are people betting,
Betting on how good I will do.
People are all around, telling me,
Telling me I cannot lose.
The Other four are there and waiting,
Waiting for the horn to blow.
Spectators are watching,
Watching and screaming Go!
The Other four, their heads held high,
Their heads held high in confidence.
My owner and the crowd, sitting,
Sitting on the watching bench.
My owner, he gives me a word,
A word, this will be a cinch.
The horn has blown, and we’re off,
Off on the long racetrack.
2 and 5 and 3 are behind me,
And only number 1 is not at my back.
I run, I run, as fast as I can,
As fast as I can, Thoughts I lack.
We near the end, I see my number,
My number beckoning for me to hurry.
One burst of speed, a splurge of fast is all I need,
A splurge of fast...I scurry.
Number One is right beside me,
Beside me and ready to win.
But I bring forth that burst of speed
And my toe goes down first...
The race is over, crowds are cheering
“Number 4 has won!”
I take my cup on the stand and wave,
Wave happily, happy to win.
And then I step back down, ready,
Ready to do it all again.
