Have Courage
by Parahoy
In the Battledome
They will fight for your honor
So equip them well
Achieve victory
In your opponent's defeat
Give your battle cry
You need to rest now
So visit the Healing Springs
Bow humbly for aid
And you shall receive
Health points or potions for them
So they may fight on
Lay your honor down
Take up arms, throw your snowball
Keep up your defense

Is It Because I'm Slimy?
by Everklena
Is it because I'm slimy?
Was it because I was slimy?
Being a Slorg has its ups and downs,
Its highs and lows and smiles and frowns.
But what is a Slorg without its slime
And its gooey trails of glorious grime?
Oh, timid Neopet, I beg of you -- don't flee!
Oh, why must you always run away from me?
I'm quite harmless, can't you see?
Is it because I'm slimy?
Was it because I was slimy?
I went to the park to make some friends,
"You're not my type, I don't mean to offend!"
Was the response I received
On the cruelest of days.
And so, I cried tears of slime
As I crawled away.
Oh, fickle Neopet, why won't you hear my plea?
Just for a day, can you be friends with me?
I'm quite harmless, can't you see?
Is it because I'm slimy?
Was it because I was slimy?
Alas, it is hard living at peace with this slime.
I can only wait for and dream of a happier time
Where slimy and slime-less will unite as one.
A Slorg's utopia: no judgement, just fun.
Oh, clueless Neopets, one day you will see.
There shall come a day where
You'll want to be friends with me.
I'm quite harmless, can't you see?

A Guide To Safely Traverse Neopia
by Salistina
Many a hazard to be found,
Many to be seen,
When you wander around unsavory places
Or put your trust into a fiend.
No villain in Neopia
Compares to Doctor Sloth,
Not even that Jhudora,
Who brews up poison broth.
Then comes vile Vira
And her melancholy stare;
She'd look more impressive
With a healthy head of hair.
What about those dark faeries?
Old as old can be...
Is their power worth the taint?
Not to you or me.
What about Capara?
That naughty Kyrii cheat.
Not really an evil villain
And quite easy to beat.
Balthazar a villain?
No, he's just misunderstood.
He keeps those faeries behaving,
Or they'd all be up to no good.
No villain list would be complete
Without a scurvy dog;
One like Captain Scarblade
And his scurvy pirate grog.
Then there's the most evil
Evil of them all,
The tallest poppy of evil
Sitting on the evil wall.
This one is so evil
I dare not speak the name,
But you have just been mind-controlled
By my evil master brain.
You fell right into my trap,
The plot twist has occurred,
My magic has been working on you,
As you have read every single word.
Now you are my servant, too,
My little minion, YES!
I bet you didn't see this coming,
I bet you didn't guess!
I'll show you rotten Neopians
To make a parody of me!
Lord Faerigan? FAERIGAN?!? The nerve...
I'll smoosh you all you'll see!

The Horrors Of Half Price Day
by Mike11695
Shelves laid stocked with dusty bottles
And the till was ever-so-empty.
But it was the 2nd of the month, soon the 3rd,
The restockers would be getting ready.
Kauvara ran quickly to stock the shelves...
But it was too late,
The restockers began pouring in.
"I OFFER 34,785 NEOPOINTS
FOR THAT POTION!" was cried out.
"I accept your offer!" she chimed with a grin.
The others were not happy, though,
For missing the potions...
They began pressing Kauvara like mad,
No stopping in mind.
"What are you doing?" she whimpered,
"Why are you poking me?"
"WE'RE REFRESHING, WE NEED TO CLICK YOU." The restockers pined.
"I'm sorry, we're sold out
Of everything!" she cried.
The restockers had been banned,
The night had ended.
"Let's go clear out Battle Magic!"
And away the restockers headed.
The store was a mess, bottles shattered.
Potions spilled and Neopoints scattered.
Kauvara sighed
And began cleaning up the mess.
"I fear for next month,
The 3rd always causes stress..."

My Last Day On The Ground
by Flufflepuff
Soon I will sail the vast uncharted sea
That shows itself at night. Need I remind
You that you are not fit to come with me,
And so, with heavy heart, you’ll stay behind.
Just listen to that wondrous engine growl!
It’s not unlike the oceans where I’ve sailed --
Fear not, for I am calm in weather foul
Enough to splinter vessels. Yet I’ve failed
To soar, explore the deepest reach of space...
Until now. Have you come to help me pack?
Be quiet. I appreciate your grace.
But honestly, there’s nothing that I lack.
You say you’re well prepared to come along?
Maybe so. However, I can’t allow
Others to delay me and steer me wrong.
It’s true we’ve had our escapades, but now
You’ve your adventures and I’ve got my own.
I don’t mean to be cruel, but to be kind --
I know I could not face my curse alone:
Not Ta-Kutep combined with snow and wind.
You freed your people, child. With them is where
You belong, not on lonely Kreludor.
For one thing, speed is vital. There’s no air
Outside the suit I’ve packed and little more.
What’s more, the rough terrain is not for you,
Nor can you tear apart the robots tall
Enough for me to scale (not to go through
And annihilate!). You’d certainly fall
Off of ledges and may not recover.
I will not risk your life for Kreludite.
I’ve enough to face without another --
In fact, I bet you came here out of spite.
No, I’m not afraid. How dare you suggest
Such a wretched thing! I’m not pale from fear
But excitement. I’m putting to the test
My wits and experience I’ve gained here.
Enough of that. You’ve probably been bored
By all my talk about the risk of mines
And space. Take a look at what I have stored
In this locked box. You’ll notice that my finds
Are rare and beautiful. Don’t you agree?
This large red gem is from the very caves
We traversed together. Please think of me
When you see it. It’s yours. I hope it staves
Off the resentment you have toward me.
Your deeds are noble, young one. You must stay
Where Bori need you. It’s my fate to climb
Past Neopian legends, far away
Before I am no longer in my prime.
