Noblesse-Oblige By Skittlekit

"Don't tell me what to do,"
the Aisha sneered and twitched an ear,
"I'll none of all your plushies
and barbaric battle gear...
I'm practically a princess,"
huffed the Aisha with a frown,
"My great-grand cousin twice removed,
Carbunkle, wore a crown.
And none of what I say and do
will reach you common fools."
Indeed, her glance was perilous,
her eyes flashed like rare jewels,
her face was set like granite,
and her head was fixed just so
like diadems perched
on the scalps of sovereigns long ago.
"You cannot understand me,
and we try to, but we can't..."
(her pronouns waxing regal
like some royal sycophant)
"...debase ourselves by acting
like a common less-oblige.
It's up to us to bear
the weight of history, prestige.
And so you see, of course,
that I'm no ordinary thing,
but equal in magnificence
to any prince or king."
Contented with her diatribe,
she grinned into my stare.
She proudly, deftly stretched herself,
and then fell off her chair.

The Nose Knowses By Friedrice88

The new Tonu's nose is quite sharp and shiny,
While a green Mynci's nose is little and tiny.

The Krawk has a snout for chomping and biting.
An Eyerie's nose is really excellent for fighting.

The Kacheek's little nose is as cute as a button,
And the Skeith's rolled-up nose
Shouts out, "I'm a glutton!"

A Blumaroo's nose stands out from the rest,
Cause it put a sock on its face
When it decided to get dressed.

A beak is the chosen nose for the Lenny,
Poor Chomby is crying 'cause he hasn't got any.

Buzz has his mandibles, Elephante his trunk,
Acara's poor nose is a little bit shrunk.

These are the 'Pets sniffers, smellers, and noses.
What will they smell next? Only the nose knowses.

Interior Decorator By Picperfect85

When I heard the smart Neopia guys
Were giving away strange Gnomes as a prize
And creating all sorts of pretty home garden beds
I cowered back with certain dread

For you see, I knew the truth of this plot
If you beautified your outside lot
What about the inside of your place of rest?
Should it not, too, be made to look its best?

So with a heavy heart
I hired a home decorator to do his part
In dressing my house up
And giving it a trendy flair
"I want a new interior style!" was my declare

Federico Galliano came at noon, an hour late
Kissed my cheek and said
He'd charge me the regular rate
The green Mynci sipped a Banana Java
And wore a pink silk shirt
With a pattern of tiny guavas

He glanced around my home with disgust
The Mynci snorted,
"Getting rid of these curtains is a must"
He said as he took a peek into the lounging area
"When you bought that couch
Were you having a fit of hysteria?"

Then Federico went into the bathroom
He sniffed, "You are color blind, I assume."
Next he shouted as he examined my master suite
"This whole bedroom is a disaster fully complete!"

Finally Federico Galliano
Set about measuring and cutting
Hammering in nails and gutting
It took all of an hour for him
To finish sawing and staining
And I could eagerly see
What was left remaining

My house was an utter disaster!
The walls were covered
In shredded wallpaper and plaster
The carpets were ripped and pulled up in chunks
Lamps were broken and sheets were shrunk

Federico smiled at me smugly
And began to speak,
"Viola! I call this Garbage Bin Chic!"
Then the Mynci dusted off his expensive silk shirt
And flounced down my front path made of dirt

Didn't I tell you
Nothing good could come with Gnomes?
Darn those NeoStaffers
For making me ruin my home!
If I had my way
I would lock them all up without any pardons
Now I must sleep outside in my garden!

Battle Sonnet By Nikyu

Passing through the gates of the Battledome,
Equipped with weapons of the best array,
To compete in this battle monger’s home.
Many a struggle to be fought today.

Those who win get brief glory for the day,
And they, who lose, move on with knowledge new,
To Healing Springs so they may again say,
“Prompt, I am, for the next bout to ensue.”

Again, the combat cycle begins.
Attack, heal, wield, freeze, pursue and assail.
An arduous clash for both sides to win.
Down to their last hit points, one must prevail.

But in the end, all are true champions,
Courage is needed for competitions.

The Brain Tree By Satune

My Shoyru was at my side, quivering with fear,
Nothing was moving, as far as we could hear.
The dense mist was too thick to see past,
I quickened my pace, we had to get there fast.

I was already in deep, deep trouble,
All I needed was to be late
And then I'd look stubble.
As my pet clung on to my icy hand,
He muttered, "Mummy, will he
Shoo us off his land?"

I didn't bother to reply this time,
I was already imagining my death bell's chime.
My baby did not persist,
We were both wishing we didn't exist.

Leaves crunched underneath our feet,
For the Brain Tree we had to meet.
Twigs snapped as we quickly walked,
I kept looking back, as if we were being stalked.

We passed the stalls with frightful things,
From moulding claws to Pteri wings.
Finally I found my way to the Brain Tree's roots,
I fell to my knees, he was a dead old tree,
No fresh leaves or fruit.
"Oh great Brain Tree..." I stammered,
My hands clasped together,
"I could not do my research,
I should be banished forever."
The great tree had set me a task,
To find some information about someone,
It wasn't much to ask.

The tree's sunken eyes
Swivelled from me to my pet,
"Alas, your pet will need a well trained vet."
These were his words, I didn't understand,
He raised his shrivelled, rotting hands.

My darling suddenly squirmed and screamed,
It gave me a fright,
His blood curdling shouts pierced the night.
The Brain Tree was not
Meant to punish this badly,
"No, please stop!" I cried,
My arms outstretched sadly.

My pet only just pulled through the attack,
And since then I've never been back.
I went to visit my poor pet
In the hospital and he said,
"You know the person we couldn't find?
He's here in a book I've just read!"
