GNORBU SHEARING DAY SPECIAL

The Silent G
by Xo_dearjamie

There's something special about Gnorbu,
Something you can certainly see.
Though you might not say it aloud,
I'm talking about the silent "G."

It's similar to a gnome,
But not the kind in Wingoball.
Look at the first letter,
Cute like a baby Gnorbu doll.

Gnorbu and Gnar have it in common,
Though Gnorbu aren't nearly as scary.
Once Shearing Day is over,
They're also not as hairy!

Silent, but deadly.
Maligned, or benign?
The silent "G" bewilders us all:
It's by syntactical design.

Gnorbu can be mysterious,
Like Vandebart Biggsby.
But you won't get gnarled or gnawed
If you respect the silent "G."

The Gnorbu Sheriff's Town
by Sugarypixiestix2

Neopia Central is his appointed town,
he accepted this duty without a frown.
His valour and chivalry are unmatched;
in feuds he is able to stay detached.

For this and many other just reasons,
he's kept peace through the seasons.
As a sheriff he must stay open-eyed,
never knowing what's waiting outside.

Citizens always tip their hat to him,
greeting him with admiration and vim.
They know he keeps their town secure,
free of anything malignant or impure.

The sheriff's jail is in tiptop shape,
to make sure no criminals can escape.
Though not many crimes are committed,
he has made sure none are permitted.

This Gnorbu knows his public by name,
treating them all properly is his aim.
Making Neopia Central full of smiles
and without transgressions or trials.

Gnorbu Mane Care 101
by Geneames1

You think you have it difficult,
tending to your hair,
brushing, washing, curling it,
you say that it's not fair.

I wish you had MY regimen,
dubbed "Mane Care 101."
It takes four hours every day
and isn't at all fun.

First, I have to wash my mane
in apricot shampoo,
then blow dry on the lowest setting,
which takes an hour or two.

A curling iron is needed
if I want ringlets, too.
A mane brush is sufficient
if I want a simple straight mane 'do.

We Gnorbu carry off our style
with elan and with grace,
but looking good is hard work,
even with a pretty face!

Heated Words
by Trubiekatie

I venture to Moltara,
When I can brave the heat.
I seek some fiery wisdom
That just simply can’t be beat.

Tucked away in a cavern
Lies the friendly Igneot!
Gathered around his table;
To fit, we both must squat.

I’m here to ask a question
And seek his wise reply.
He must answer hundreds,
Since all Neopians can drop by.

His cavern is quite hot,
As this Gnorbu himself is coal.
A fire glowing at the side,
On his shelf is an abstract bowl.

He smiles as he speaks,
“The fires say it will be so.”
I am marveling at him now;
How can he possibly know?

Whatever his magic,
Thank you dear Igneot.
I came with a question,
Now I leave with what I sought!

Apple Bobbing Gnorbu
by Treeword

If you travel through the woods,
You’ll come across a Haunted Faire,
Where you’ll see a barrel full
And a Gnorbu standing there.

You’ll think him fairly strange
When you glimpse his attire such,
Striped vest, patched pants,
And a hat you shouldn’t touch.

He’ll say his name is Bart
And, at first, he seems quite nice,
But take it from me,
You’ll eventually pay the price.

For his game of apple bobbing
Looked quite fun and easy,
And I agreed to play,
Though I thought it rather cheesy.

This Gnorbu promised prizes,
He guaranteed a treat,
Yet the only thing I wanted
Was a shiny red apple to eat.

I immediately regretted
The fiasco of my poor decision,
For the only thing I ended up with
Was a dose of Blurred Vision.

Shorn Gnorbu Plushie
by Indulgences

I have an idea for a plushie that's new.
It features a new look, a brand new hue.
Every Gnorbu Day, our Gnorbu get shorn.
There should be a plushie
That celebrates this form.

The look of pink skin is so shiny and fresh,
And celebrates the look of hairless flesh.
The shorn Gnorbu is glowing and bright.
A Shorn Gnorbu Plushie
Would be such a delight.

I've searched and I've searched
For a Gnorbu item
That celebrates my own particular whim.
No books or wearables, no furniture or foods,
Celebrate the shorn Gnorbu, I sadly conclude.

So, since it's Gnorbu Day,
And more items are made,
Please, TNT, make a plushie, I beg.
I'll be crossing my fingers
For a Shorn Gnorbu Plushie,
So much more important
Than books or a slushie!

Gnorbu Grooming Tips
by Chavo_guerrero

Of such a long and pretty mane
The Gnorbu takes some care,
So there's lots of different items
For helping with their hair.

First, you'll need a Gnorbu comb,
Perhaps a Gnorbu brush,
Don't forget conditioning shampoo --
If you're not in a rush.

But if you are, it matters not,
Just use some Gnorbu Gel,
Although it might not last as long,
It works out pretty well.

Don't forget the fashion books
On mane care and grooming tips,
They'll teach you how to style them
With rollers and hair clips.

Next, some eau de Gnorbu,
To keep them smelling fine,
And you'll know that they look perfect
When you see their healthy shine.

Professor Lambert
by Rielcz

As scholarly as Hagan,
But less than half the weight,
This Gnorbu heads the Seekers;
Intellectuals at heart.

The obelisk's where he's been,
And with his watch he's never late,
I'm sure all would concur:
He is really smart.

Leading his troop to victory,
The sixth to claim the Oracle's boons,
Perhaps battle's not his forte,
But in wisdom he's reliant:

"Wit can destroy the enemy!";
"Despite who wins, this'll be hist'ry soon.";
"We fight for truth, today!";
"I hate to be so violent."

Always asking questions
And always seeking explanations,
This Gnorbu knows a thing or two
'Bout Neopia's past.

As he offers suggestions
And lays the foundations,
The Seekers may the rest subdue
And come to own the obelisk, at last.

Terrana, Past The Lowly Earth
by Flufflepuff

Mists conceal what lies below
The distant solid ground,
But mountains echo with purpose.
Adventure can be found

In clefts and ledges, wide and firm,
By those who know to search
The Shenkuu cliffs before they climb,
Picturing where they'll perch

High above civilization.
The only Gnorbu brave
Enough to scale the ruthless walls
Was formerly a slave

To ceremony, palace life.
The princess, so wisely
Chose to sail far from her home
To chase her destiny.

Terrana's name, indeed, implies
A kinship with the earth.
She casts off that identity
To find and prove her worth.

With wings of metal and of rope,
A climber's trusty friends,
Terrana, with her strength, she soars
E'en past the mountain's end.

The sky's the limit, as they say.
For her, this is most true.
Forever searching for a ledge
Of clouds to latch onto.

Heaven only knows how close
She will get to its sides.
One thing is for certain, though:
She will not cease to try.

No Normal Gnorbu
by Blessed_faerie

When I have an unanswered question,
Or something I want to know more about,
I always visit Igneot in Moltara
And let him tell me how it’ll turn out.

When you visit him in the caves,
You’ll see he’s no normal Gnorbu.
Not only is his fur made of magma,
But everything he says will come true.

Rumor has it he always had the gift,
To see the future in fire and smoke.
In the past, a few have poked fun,
But this Gnorbu’s skills are no joke.

He can control lava with his mind
And control what form it will take.
He can send it where he’d like it to go
And even decide its shape.

I’d love to wish him happiness,
And hope that his Gnorbu Day will be great.
As nice as that might be, it’s senseless,
For Igneot already knows the day’s fate.
