Or perhaps a game.

Hit “Send,” await with bated breath,
Its verdict false or true.
When doing so, an island 'pet
Will waltz right up to you.

Emotions hide behind his mask,
But show through his kind voice.
He thanks you heartily because
You’ve made a clever choice

In writing and sending a poem
In to be inspected.
He’s very pleased that you have toil’d
To have it perfected.

His white hand leaps to salute you.
He nods and speaks yet more:
Your submission is, rest assured,
Extremely safely stored.

The Grundo wishes you good luck,
Returns to whence he came.
You blink, and gasp -- you had not thought
To even ask his name.

Nobody knows who this ‘pet is,
If he has ties to Sloth.
But faithfully he waits close by,
As if he’d had an oath

To keep about the poets fair.
He stands watch by the box,
Wishing good luck to all entrants
While, around it, he walks.

Regardless of his origin,
The island Grundo stays
And never leaves his sacred post,
To this very day.

Woodland Blobikins, New To Town

Gelatinous, green, and certainly not a cube, 
no, it is not a Lime Jelly, nor is it 
a Twirly Fruit Kikotube.

What is this mysterious little creature
with two small eyes and yellow spiky features? 

And what of the small pink flower
that seems to be the source 
of some hidden power? 

It looks like a Blobikins, no, 
not the overgrown kind,
a woodland one, it seems, 
with a flower and yellow spines. 

Don't you worry, you have nothing to fear, 
this little Blobikins won't hinder you, dear. 

The Blobikins has had too many close calls;
even just one bite could lead to its downfall!
 
To protect itself, 
this Woodland Blobikins has done well,
adorning itself 
with a protective prickly outer shell. 

Now, our prickly Blobikins wants a friend
and invites you with 
a lovely, flowery, fragrant blend.

Our Woodland Blobikins 
is ready for a new home, 
new friends, and a life full of stories... 
enough to fill a tome!

Won't you consider this plant-like Petpet? 
I am sure it will not be 
a decision you will regret.

Two Kings, One Biscuit

Two kings, one biscuit,
A game now so old,
For a biscuit so ancient,
So hard and so cold.

Two grown Skeiths,
Both respectable kings,
In fact, they're both brothers...
Fighting for biscuits, of all things.

At a young age it started,
The last biscuit on the plate,
A war, at the dinner table,
It ran until late.

Skarl sent forth clockwork minions,
Hagan began to defend,
They had ruined their supper
In a battle with no end.

Nowadays, they catapult,
They destroy and they fire,
They both say they had it first,
And the other is a liar.

The days still go by,
Full of sibling rage,
And just for one biscuit,
And one of great age.

Old, wise Hagan,
Big, plump Skarl,
They argue for one biscuit,
Like a Jetsam and Grarrl.

Oh, Dice-A-Roo

King Roo stands with dice in his hands.
He tosses them up in the sky.
He looks at me, smiles, and says, "Let's play!"
Alright, I suppose I'll try. 

Give me a check, give me an X,
They will not matter in the end.
Because maybe, hopefully, possibly this time,
I'll end up with a jackpot to spend.

But after a game, two games, three,
A frown is finding a home.
I'm only greeted with loss and frustration,
I probably should have known.

These dice claim a resistance in me
For I know that, in the past,
I was plagued with a skull on top a red die;
I swore those games would be my last.

However, that was only a day ago...
Why am I so drawn back?
Although I have never won a dime,
Resistance is something I lack.

Because, no matter how many times I've played,
In hopes of the lucky times ten,
I crave the level up, even to blue colors;
I will roll again.
