I Baked A Cake For Neopets's Birthday!

Out of my cupboard I took a mixing bowl,
to start on my scrumptious dessert goal.
Taking my favourite wooden baking spoon,
I began to make my cake exactly at noon.

Laying out all my ingredients in a line
as I made sure the sugar was extra fine.
Thankfully I had remembered everything,
so I put on my apron with a wide swing.

Into the bowl each item was ruly added,
while my spoon swiftly mixed and padded.
After some minutes I checked the batter,
hoping it did not get lumpy or scatter.

When I saw that it looked to be perfect,
boy was I glad that I'd made it correct.
Setting it aside I flipped the oven on,
certain it'd bake as smoothly as a swan.

Greasing the cake pan with soft butter,
I poured the mixture in with a flutter.
Opening the oven I slid the pan inside,
then I stirred the icing I'd set aside.

After waiting a while the timer chimed,
and the cake looked fluffy and primed.
When it cooled I iced the cake merrily,
then I put the candles on customarily.

Trusting everyone liked chocolate cake
with strawberry icing, then, that I did bake.
As planned I invited all of my chums,
who ate up my cake, minding the crumbs.

that were caught in Flint's beard.

The Seekers provide the transportation,
for their airships run the sky,
and are large enough for everyone
invited to the party to arrive.

Finally comes The Awakened and,
on this birthday date,
the zombies, ghosts, and ghouls
naturally bring the cake.

They may fight for the Obelisk,
but for this happy day,
the Six Factions in Tyrannia
help celebrate Neopia's birthday.

My favorite time of Neopets
Was definitely this month.
November was so magical,
It cannot be outdone!

Neopians good and kind.
We're full of festive well-wishings,
For all are sweet of mind!

To make a site so magical
We're stuck to it like glue!

Changes

It's hard to imagine
That so much time has passed,
But such is time,
Moving way too fast,
Especially when you're having fun,
So the old saying goes.
The more fun we have,
The faster time flows.

So, today we will celebrate
Fourteen solid years,
And will overly rejoice 
At all the new birthday items that appear.

But, I want to take this time
And dedicate it to the past,
For those things that are gone,
I raise my glass.

Remember the old days,
Or your very first Neofriend?
Chatting every day, never imagining
That would one day end.

Remember the old site theme,
Which was beautifully unique?
We never thought, when it changed,
The site would feel so bleak.

What about those neon fonts
That were an eyesore?
But that would be a small price to pay
To go back to before.

Change hurts,
But every time it happens,
We carry on just the same,
Still logging on every day,
Still playing Neopet games.

Through this, I've learned that 
We should never
Take anything here for granted,
And more changes will come,
No matter how firmly our feet are planted.

So, for today, 
When remembering back on all of the changes,
Remember those who have stuck around
Through every celebratory up
And every disappointing down.
I'm referring to TNT;
Thank you so much for all that you do.
I hope this day is extra special,
Especially for you!

After 14 Years

It's hard to believe Neo has reached 14 years;
Let's all give a hearty round of three cheers!
For the friends we've made, our dearest peers,
We celebrate them with joyful tears.

The wonderful games we love to play,
The plots that keep us from wanting to stray,
Most of us come back each and every day,
And here, for hours, we usually will stay. 

There is something that appeals to everyone --
The Battledome sure can be lots of fun.
Many prizes are to be won,
And the excitement has only just begun!

14 years later and new items are still found;
Some wearable items even produce sound! 
It's no doubt that Neopets should be crowned
One of the best games that's still around! 

So, thank you TNT for a game we love,
It happens to fit just like a glove.
No other hobby I'd place above,
A place and home that's often thought of.

And it’s time for you to take center stage. 
We know we can be a lot to handle,
But we thank you again with fourteen candles. 

Our complaints, our love, all that pressure -- 
At the end of the day, there is no measure
Of how grateful we are for the things you do. 
I swear on my 'pets that this is true. 

So, let’s all come together and celebrate,
And tomorrow regret all the cake we ate. 
You help bring joy to our stressful lives.
Fourteen years young and you have thrived.

Neopets has grown over the years,
Just like all of our peers,
All since the start
We've not been apart,
Now is the time of cheers.

There were old Neopets, let's take a peek:
Like the JibJib, Fleye, and Badeek.
Though they were strange,
They all did change,
To the JubJub, Buzz, and Kacheek.

There are also new lands, too,
Some are old and some are new,
From the wet Maraqua
To the hot Moltara,
All of these land are true.

This is as good as it gets.
It's Year 16, and let's
Celebrate the year
And give a good cheer.

The Perfect Birthday Gift

I run into the Shop of Mystery 
To see what I might find --
There must be something suitable 
For all these friends of mine!
While, I’ll admit, it’s not the best place 
To buy a birthday gift,
These bags must hold something better 
Than a Smelly Jelly whiff! 
I could send out Dramatic Meepit Eyeshadow That’s doing nothing but take up space
In my Safe Deposit Box -- wait, that’s it! 
That’s got to be the place!
I dig through mounds of omelette 
Of various shapes and sizes,
Plow through broken toys and plushies 
That no one recognizes...

After hours of donations 
And discarding old rotten boots,
I come to the conclusion 
That there’s no perfect gift for you.
I walk, defeated, head hung low, 
To the Market Place
To ask the Shop Wizard 
If he could find the right gift in this case.
He turned to me with his big blue eyes 
And said as-a-matter-of-fact,
“You’re doing this all wrong! 
You must clean up your act!
I know what all of Neopia 
Wants for their birthday wish:
They want friendship -- 
That is the best birthday gift!”

Finally it hit me... I had done something right!
I’d been your friend throughout most of my life.

Alas, I’ve found the perfect present 
For all my Neopian friends!
