A Call To Enlightenment
by Sheynacruz

Do you seek intellectual challenge?
Then seek no further, curious mind:
Heed this call to enlightenment
And fellow Seekers you shall find,
United through common pursuit
Of an obelisk and its secrets enshrined.

But we are neither robbers nor bandits,
Nor thugs who fight for sake of war,
Nor sorcerers drawn towards magic,
Nor undead fiends of Neopian lore,
Nor a power-hungry covert guild.
No, we are something far, far more:

Little do those who scorn us know that
Knowledge is its own sword and shield.
No other asset -- not magic, not weapons --
Trumps knowledge upon the battlefield,
For he who knows his enemy's ways
Has an advantage that no other wields.

We seek to unravel the obelisk's mystery,
To decipher the clues of history there,
To learn what we can from the Oracle's words,
To publish our findings and make all aware.
For, riddle us this, our rival factions:
What use is knowledge
That one does not share?

Join us, then, in our quest for learning
And in our battle to understand.
For, as we speak, great forces assemble
To claim this coveted piece of land,
But should the scholars of Neopia unite,
A win for the Seekers will soon be at hand!

The Jester
by Wunderwall

I told a funny little joke
To a not-so-little king;
He did not find it as funny as I,
For he gave me not a thing.

Day after day I made the trek
To appear before the throne,
Armed with puns and jokes galore,
Which only produced a groan.

Try as I might, the King's facade
Never cracked to reveal a smile.
He only sighed and rubbed his brow
While I shuffled across the tile.

Finally, one day, when I swept in
To finish this dreadful chore,
Skarl's face went bright as up he stood
Then kicked me straight out the door!

The Kelp Waitress
by Yarslov

kelp,
The busiest,
The highest society restaurant in all Neopia...
And I work here,
Yes, that's right,
I'm the waitress.

If you come to kelp you shall see me
At your table,
Your face full of glee.
You ask what is good and I say,
EVERYTHING!

I take your order and then give you your dish,
You get a "doggie bag"
And then you wish
For the avatar
Everyone wants to get.

...And That's All The Motes There Are!
by Indulgences

The Frost Mote is a deadly thing.
It zaps your enemies with zing.
The Water Mote is fatal, too.
With battle magic it's embued!

The Lava Mote is dark and fierce.
The lava drops do sting and pierce.
The Bubble Mote is menacing.
Its power is astonishing!

The Ice Mote is a nasty brute.
Its power is quite absolute.
The Mud Mote is a pile of fear
That makes you want to disappear!

The Ash Mote is a pile of soot
That you should never overlook.
The Snow Mote blinds your enemies
With such effect that they must flee!

The Rock Mote is quite perilous.
Your enemies will be nonplussed.
The Dust Mote is a shady thing
Through which you'll sneeze like anything!

The Smoke Mote is quite treacherous.
It's something you cannot dismiss.
The Hail Mote hails from outer space.
Your enemies will be abased!

The Fire Mote is a wicked mote.
Just throw it at your rival's throat.
The Salt Mote is a pile of salt
That turns into a fierce assault!

Metallic Motes are tiny things
That change their shape to anything.
The Dung Mote is a pile of dung
That should be lit on fire and flung!

And there are Motes electrical
Who buzz electric, never dull.
The Air Mote is a funny shape
Because the artists were on break!

I fear the Motes Neopian,
Although their shapes do make me grin.
The Robot Mote and Plushie Mote
Are funny and they get my vote!

The Dirt Mote is a sorry pile
Of dust and dirt, so very vile.
The Gold Mote is a shiny disc,
So dangerous and full of risk!

The Hair Mote is a pile of hair,
Dispatching enemies with flair.
The Wood Mote is a wooden disc,
Its power very wild and brisk!

The Dee and Ee and Ree Motes are
Such awesome weapons. They are stars.
The Weewoo Mote is feathered and,
Against it, no sane foe would stand!

The Vicious Mote is poisonous.
No one can block its viciousness.
The Zen Mote is a balanced mote,
While Jelly Mote will make you bloat!

So, these are all the Motes that live.
They make you quite competitive.
They're useful in the Battledome,
And in the 'dome, they're right at home!

A Plea To DJ Skellington (From Your Biggest Fan)
by Comawhite333

Although I can't admire you
Every single day,
Because of that pesky notice that stated
I must keep one hundred yards away.

It was hand-delivered personally
By Lawyerbot himself,
While he wore a dorky little scarf
Making him look like a Christmas Felf.

Yes, I am angry,
And it's not Lawyerbot's fault,
So all apologies are owed to him;
Hopefully compensation isn't sought.

So what if I watched you every day,
Sometimes hiding behind a tree?
But the details aren't as important
As the pain you've caused for me.

I am your biggest fan;
So what if I crossed a couple lines?
We have so much in common
And those are the only ties that bind.

I even adopted a Moehog,
But sadly he ran away,
I swear that is true!
I'm not lying, okay?

Remember when you had me arrested
And I was locked in that cell?
I kicked it with Lord Darigan
Up in The Citadel.

See were I'm going?
I can be cool,
I'm not some random crazy fan
That's trying to play you for a fool.

You are my idol
And are most deserving of my admiration,
So I want that restraining order lifted
Before I get back from my vacation.

P.S.:
Lawyerbot, stay out of this!
Your services are no longer required.
Stay away from DJ Skellington
And consider yourself fired!
