LOL AVIES
by Chavo_guerrero
You did not earn that avatar,
You pilfered it instead,
Grabbed it from another
And then, like a thief -- you fled!
You're using it on Neoboards,
I must admit that it looks great,
To use another's avatar
Is a very thief-like trait.
I wish I worked for Kanrik
And had won this special boon,
So I could steal an avatar
That could make all others swoon.
I'd choose a nice retired one,
Or one that costs too much,
Like Coco Roll, Meridell Knight,
Or Stamp Collector and such!
Congratulations, Thieves Guild,
On this boon that seems so fun,
I'm just going to sit and wait
Until another round's begun!

Nostalgic
by Lionkirbys
Not here in this land
When Neopia started
Not on Neo yet
But if I wasn't here,
How can I possibly miss
Neopia's old?
I didn't see it,
But people talk about it
So much, I forget.
The unconverteds
I've never seen when called new,
But I feel I did.
I feel old on here
And new, at the same time, odd.
Hard to explain it.
I miss olden times
But I haven't been here long.
Am I just dreaming?
I miss orange spots.
I started 2001,
Not too long ago.
Why I feel this way,
I guess I will never know.
But I wish I did.
This taking too long.
This poem is way too long.
Well, good day to you.
The end. The real end.
I will REALLY end it now.
Good bye. So long. END.

Woe At The Chocolate Factory
by Yarslov
"It's Half Price Day!" I say with glee,
Time to buy the items that I really need.
After a day of shopping I smelled a smell,
Rich and creamy, CHOCOLATE I yelled.
I go into the factory,
My eyes filled with delight,
Chocolate Candy Filled Negg,
White Chocolate Eyrie,
I gladly gave my Neopoints up without a fight.
Not quite satisfied, I go in again,
It looked as if someone opened a Snorkle pen,
Neopians were shouting, shoving, and grabbing,
I ran into a corner to get away,
Glad I did, for I missed the fray,
They came in and went out in a flash,
Leaving the Kiko with lots of cash.
I walked up to the inventory
And saw a sad sight,
Nothing was there after that crazy fight,
The Kiko told me with such a tired voice,
"We restock every eight minutes
If you care to wait."
Wait eight minutes for a yummy treat?
What should I do?
My belly said I needed something to eat soon.
I sighed a great sigh,
Walked out into the street,
Hubert's Hot Dogs!
That looks neat.
Good bye Chocolate Factory,
I will see you soon,
Once this hot dog goes down the hatch,
I will come back to get the next batch.

Moltara: Land of Fire and Gears
by Shadowsephira
Whish! Swish!
The sound of steam hisses through the air
As the levers crank and the gears turn
As the city burns, kept dark, but light
A soft glow, of golden browns
And obsidian purples
High and low, Moltara, it burns...
Ever burning, underneath
The magma, beneath our feet
A soft whisper of steampunk sighs
We Neopets, here reside
In a cavernous city beneath the ground
Where intelligence is quite sound
We're inventors, Neopets of mechanics
We use these gears to our advantage
Sharp steel, long cables, all run together
They run our buildings,
Keep everything operating
Functioning all as one, these metals
Working together, breathing as a single thing...
But farther down we turn to fire,
Magma settling higher
Than anywhere else in Neopia can claim
Our fire helps run this game
It powers our lives as Moltara burns
Steadily, it boils and turns
Bubbling high in rolling gurgles
We're Moltara, the land of fire and gears
Of golds and reds and wondrous purples
Of moving parts and working cogs
Of molten morsels and fantastic lights
Keeping everything burning bright
Through everlasting day and night...
The darkness does not touch this cavern
It's Moltara, a burning entity
Of light
Of fire
Of gears
A robotic hiss of wondrous beauty

The Old Stargazer Of Shenkuu
by Riverthistle
It is the last call of the moon,
It comes to the rhythm of a warbling tune,
A silver Lenny rising up and floating high,
Stretching her milky wings with a sleepy sigh.
Goodbye night, hello sun.
Now comes a beacon of light,
Signifying the next day has begun.
From across Shenkuu
Come the first few sparks,
Beckoning the citizens awake
And banishing the dark.
The wise old Gnorbu stumbles into bed,
With visions of cycles and spheres
Spinning in his head.
The moon is gone and his job is done,
At least until the next bright stars are spun.
To the stargazers and travelers
He proposes a test,
"Identify the moon's stages
To prove you are the best."
He is wise and kind, but weary with age,
Hoping to inspire others
To find a new world with which to engage.
His diagrams and charts
Spill over his work table,
Filled to the margins
With scribbles on lunar fables.
Kreludor sits depicted
Full, half, and sliver on the pages,
Sixteen positions to complete all its phases.
The old star master is soaring in his dreams,
Skimming through a universe
With light bursting at the seams.
Around Kreludor he imagines himself
Floating without weight,
Twisting and dancing with a feather-light gait.
