The Roo Island Move

The artists all have made the move
From deep within the Catacombs
And are happily adjusting to
Their bright, bug-free, Roo Island homes

The portraits all have been rehung
In a modern, new Art Gallery;
Rescued from grottos damp and dim
They are refreshed by island breeze

The poets, moody, pale of cheek,
Blink hard as they step in the sun
Inspired, their quills scratch out their rhymes
As couplets drip from pen and tongue

Also having relocated
Are the thoughtful scribes, the storytellers,
Gently rubbing arthritic joints --
A result of their old chilly cellars

Where there are artists, writers, bards
You'll find the brand new coffee shop
There they congregate and caffeinate,
Engaging in aesthetic talk

For many years did the artists live
In that underworld lit by campfire
One can only hope that the Roo Island move
Will nurture, nourish, and inspire

The Elegant Woodland Uni

A lone seed in the ground
Cold, forgotten, and dead
It lies without any hope
Of one day reaching the sun

A vibrant green sprout
Creeping out from the dirt
Unfurls its new leaves
And sets its roots deep

Pure pink and purple petals
Dance in the summer breeze
And spread their divine aroma
For all the Springabees to indulge

Four brown hooves made of wood
And a twisted horn adorned with flowers
Finally grow from the lone seed
And thus the woodland Uni is born

The Colours I Yearn

The day has come, 
The time is near!
I must think fast
Or it will disappear.

The price is right 
The colour is swell.
No one has bid yet
Only time will tell. 

To look like a faerie
One must win the prize.
But if the price is too high
It's one's own demise. 

The button is clicked
The excitement begins.
On the edge of my seat
I beg to win.

Only five more minutes
Till my 'pet can fly! 
Oh so high, 
High up in the sky. 

With her brand new wings
And aqua blue hair. 
She'll be the center of attention
almost anywhere!

Two more minutes
I squee with joy.
The auction will be mine
And I'll have my new toy. 

As it closes my heart stops 
And skips around. 
Elated and bubbly
From this paint brush I've found.

I lunge for my bag
And scroll to the bottom.
I stare at the glory
What I've wanted since autumn.

The Faerie Paint Brush sits there
Staring back at me.
Wanting its attention
yet waiting patiently.

How Will They Trick Us This Year?

Every year on April 1st
The Neo team will do a trick,
Last year the Scourgies did appear
To make our Neopets look sick!

In 2010 we got a Random Event 
From Morton G Firefly to prank a friend,
We sooted, slimed, 
Changed colors and threw pies,
We couldn't wait for this 
Prank madness to end!

In 2009 it was plants, plants everywhere,
Plantopia was to overtake the site,
We played Magnolia Chase, 
Soil Muncher, Grass Basher,
And Attack of the Aphids from morning till night!

2008 was filled with pop-ups galore
We had to sign up for the Beta Test,
To join the Neobuddy System,
I matched with Bug Eye McGee the best!

In 2007 the Battledome was gone,
No fighting, no shopping, no chat,
But Premium members could do it all,
So what do you think of that?

The past five years have been amazing,
Having fun is the Neopets rule,
We await the surprise and the joke this year,
