A new programs' flaws
Do not really have those paws!
A good, clever gag,
The items are worth a rag.

Too bad, what a shame

Brought about with patience of construction.
Built upon, square by square.
A pixel here and a pixel there!

No need for countless shades to entice,
When one or two will more than suffice.
Simple blocks of colour appear so radiant,
No need for a flashy texture or gradient!

Who needs vectors, splines, and curves?
When, of resources, you do conserve?
Great artistry using 
The bare minimum to convey,
I'd take gif over jpeg any day!

A colored paint brush, called 8-Bit,
Far better than purple, spotted, or split!
The best colour; you cannot ignore,
For when it comes to detail, less is more!

The Rainbow Pool

With water bubbling in a rainbow of colors
A sparkling haze puffing like smoke
Its magic ready for those prepared

A rainbow spills from its confines
Gently washing over the sides
A beautiful bath for Neopets’ coats
So strange in how the colors glow

For if a paint brush you possess
This Rainbow Fountain fills your desires
A haunting change in all the color
Neopets contorting like a ghost

And in the moment brush touches water
Bristles brushing your Neopet’s delicate skin
A wonderful change begins its course
Your Neopet emerging in splendid glory

Be it faerie, Darigan, baby, or royal
Each color represents its own 
Magnificent wonder
Unique is every owner's 'pet
Special, as if their own child

And so, the fountain has done its job
The Rainbow Pool settling back into slumber
Sparkling waters gently flowing
Awaiting the next Neopet to leave its shadow

Best Part Of My Day

Weary from work, I
stumble in through the door.
Drop my bag on the table, 
throw my coat to the floor.

I open my computer
with incredible haste
Neopets still open
from when I'd last played.

I had stayed up all night
doing the Snow Faerie some favors
and she'd rewarded me nicely
for all my hard labor!

So now my wallet is full,
time it treat my dear Gelert,
I throw down some of coin
for an... Asparagus Yogurt?!?

In disbelief I shake both
my head and computer mouse
I let out a laugh
that alarms the whole house!

Only in Neopia
would you find something so weird
and as I gaze at my 'pets
I realize there is nowhere 
I'd rather be.

The Difference In Gamers

The time for gaming's here again,
And Aristotle has a plan,
He aims to prove he can score more,
Than his sister Abigail can.

He's chosen all his favourite games,
And practised all the year,
He's hoping when she sees his scores,
Her heart will fill with fear.

For AAA's a winner,
And he sorely hates to lose,
He believes that low scores,
Are for those that like to snooze.

But Abigail is different,
She can let the high scores go,
She plays just for the fun of it,
And isn't as competitive as her bro.

She often scores quite little,
But has fun in all she plays,
Unlike her awkward brother,
Who only ever plays for praise.

So what kind of gamer are you?
Do you play the games for fun?
Or do you play for AAA's score,
And then show others you've won?

Is it all about the trophy,
Or for the love of the game?
Because it's quite clear that every gamer,
Is nowhere near the same!
