SCORCHIO DAY SPECIAL

Famous Scorchios
by Dr_tomoe

Today is the day for Scorchio's
All of them, big and small.
Today is the day we celebrate them
One and all.

They're one of the most numerous 'pets
Over six million of them are around
And with that many of them,
You know several famous ones abound.

For example, everyone knows Brian
The famous Gormball cheater
And the Tyrannian hero Magnus the Torch
Is a real fire-breather.

And then there's one Scorchio
With whom, at least once,
Everyone will disagree
It's the famous and highly visible
Altador Cup Referee.

Mr. Rouge is there for those
Who Gourmet Club Bowls they like to play
And there is the sinister
Scientist of the Lab Ray.

If pirates are your thing
Then look no further than the Tailhook Kid.
Or, if it's deserts, then Scordrax
Could put fear in the heart of Punchbag Sid.

When going to Shenkuu,
Keep an eye out for Shumi
Or if in Maraqua
For kelp's Maitre D'

And for those who like having
Many Neopoints to boast
The Scorchio Auctioneer
Will be the one they see the most.

So, today, celebrate one of the oldest 'pets
Maybe treat them to a slushie
And even if you don't meet a famous Scorchio
You can always buy their plushie.

kelp Maitre D'
by Agedbeauty

If you want the kelp avatar,
There’s someone you must meet,
For it’s this Maraquan Scorchio’s
Job as a maitre d' to greet.

Oh yes, he guards the door to kelp
Against avatar hunters unnumbered,
Neopians who come with pockets heavy,
And leave poorer,
Without Neopoints encumbered.

This posh Scorchio might seem to be
Just a teeny, tiny bit conceited.
But he’s really not, you see –-
It’s just the large number that he’s greeted.

His really is a thankless job,
One that I don’t begrudge him.
So many patrons desperate to enter,
Avatar hunting on a whim.

And where would we be
If he wasn’t there to do his job
Greeting us so promptly,
Despite the clamoring mob?

Perhaps today on Scorchio Day,
Patrons will display more gratitude
And make some kind allowances for
His seeming snooty attitude.

For Bleuzilla, Darigan Scorchio
by Mamasimios

Behold Bleuzilla, Darigan Scorchio,
Mistress of strategy,
She rubs her hands in unmasked delight
Over some new vile intrigue

Her ruby eyes glint from within,
Alight with cruel fire,
They threaten complete destruction
Like a flaming funeral pyre

Her teeth are grinding, shiny spikes,
Constricted, cold and clenched,
Holding back a wicked laugh
Like a strong and sturdy fence

Studded with keen-edged spikes
Are Bleuzilla's purple body, wings, and tail,
So, too, do her hands and feet
Flash with fearsome claws for nails

When on the wing she wheels
High above the forest gloom
Silent as a shadow
From the dark side of the moon

Waiting for the rise one more
Of her master, Lord Darigan,
Bleuzilla bides her time
Devising schemes and stratagems

Scorchio Auctioneer
by Jjquil

Come to find a bargain, a sale, a steal?
Supply and demand are the only rules
Enter my Auction House, find a deal!
But buyer beware, don't play the fool!

Clack goes the gavel, that means go!
Call out your prices, pay up front
No place here for the meek or the slow
Only the snipers ready to hunt!

I am your Scorchio Auctioneer
In charge of the rarities shining gold,
I oversee everything, year after year,
And I am the one to shout out, "Sold!"

Remember my visor and scales of blue
Next time you encounter a valuable thing
I'll get you the Neopoints that you're due
For your Candychan Stamp
Or Royal Wedding Ring.

My job shows me artefacts, magical, rare
And excitement; why, I grin from ear to ear!
Nothing else in Neopia can compare
To being the world's only Scorchio Auctioneer!

Volcano Run
by Surath

Through the molten tunnels flies
A Scorchio, wayward gone.
He needs your skill to escape
Lest he not live on.

Boulders many mar the air;
Meeting them will end his flight.
If the hurried flame should meet him,
Glubgar will perish tonight.

The tunnels thin as he advances,
And fate is dodged at narrow points.
Geysers emerge out of magma, but
They fail to burn the flier’s joints.

A few wing-beats past a kilometer,
The Scorchio feels the heat.
The flames are thrice in number,
And they soon will him defeat.

Confined again to the tunnel’s start,
Glubgar gathers gems aplenty.
With a bit of luck he’ll find
Rubies worth points twenty.

Though rarely does Glubgar vacate
This volcanic prison he calls home,
He’s come to find one simple truth:
He loves this space to roam.

The Scorchio Alchemist
by Moulinrouge21

Concocting potions, creating spells,
Books upon books riddled with tales.
Tales for fun and tales to guide,
Secrets to see and secrets to hide.

Bubbles of magic burst all around,
Flasks that sparkle to leave you spellbound.
The alchemist designs and ponders each day,
Exploring his talents to find a way.

Helping the poor and helping the kind,
Thinking deep to the depths of his mind.
A trace of magic sparkles in the light,
Glowing forever, always in sight.

Bottles and bottles scattered everywhere,
With different jobs, handle with care.
For any time a mixture may go wrong,
And all will be heard is the alchemist’s song.

Rhiannon's Rescue
by Closemycoffin

There lived in a distant kingdom,
A Scorchio prince, so brave.
Who sought to rescue Rhiannon,
For the fairest maiden ought be saved.

It was a chilly eventide,
When he set out in pursuit,
The stars flickered in dusky sky,
As the sun yielded to the moon.

Upward the prince flew,
As high as a mountainous peak,
O'er the woodland thicket,
O'er the bogs of peat.
For many o' grueling hours,
To the maiden, he did seek.

At last he spied a castle,
A majestic castle, grand!
That cast down a moonlit shadow,
Over the royal land.

There he'd found the princess,
Up in a tower, tall,
Surrounded by sturdy gates,
And formidable stone walls.

Elegant and beautiful,
She'd yet maintained her poise --
The heroic prince descended toward her,
With honor, ambition, and joy.

He landed with a soft thud,
When he did arrive,
Rhiannon let out a short gasp,
Due to the surprise!

The prince assured her to worry not,
For he was there to set her free,
He scooped her up,
In his arms,
And to a distant kingdom,
They did flee.

Bzzzzap!
by Trubiekatie

Every day in Neopia,
Neopians flock to him.
Results are skewed:
The good, neutral, and grim.

He’s the Lab Ray Scientist,
What a smart Scorchio.
Each zap is random,
Even he doesn’t know!

Perhaps a new species?
Maybe a colour change?
Whatever the outcome,
This fellow is quite strange.

How can he do it?
No one really knows.
It’s entirely random,
So anything goes!

If you’re feeling brave,
This fine Scorchio Day,
Go see this scientist,
Visit his lab ray!

Scorchio Plushies Make Good Friends
by Saqo

Soft and fluffy
a smile so sweet,
how cute they are,
a Scorchio plushie.

Yellow and red,
blue and green.
The simplest colors,
yet so serene

are their smiles.
Like a little coy
dragon, this 'pet
make a great toy.

Purple is also
good I think, too,
but the best is
rainbow, it's true!

So many colors I
can't count them all.
So bright it cheers
me up, a good friend.

A Scorchio is a good
'pet, but if you can't
own one, buy yourself
a plushie if you can.

They are just as
good a friend (and
huggable too!). They'll
love you to the end.

Happy Scorchio Day!

Scorchio Delights
by Little4lupe

Today, I find myself delight
In a cake that's truly fit for flight.
It was quite worth the haggling fight --
The scrumptious Scorchio Shortcake.

I had to pry this from the baker's paws:
A Speckled Scorchio Cookie to stuff in my jaws!
And after a delicious milk-filled pause,
I decided I wanted more.

Back to the Bakery on Scorchio Day,
In the window, alone and rather stray
A Strawberry Scorchio Meringue lay!
So I ate it at once.

I hope that your Scorchio celebrations
Are as divine as these tasty sensations!
So go take a lovely vacation --
Today it is Scorchio Day!
