The Mysterious Temple of Roo By Coco5000m

I am stuck in the Temple of Roo
I have tried practically everything to get through
This way, that way, no back there!
I wonder why there was no exit stair?

Holy shrine it used to be
I wonder why its inhabitants had to flee?
Caves stretch out as far as I can see
In the air there is a presence of sorcery

All of a sudden I noticed something odd
An old Cybunny, dressed in rags,
leaning on a pewter rod!
"Who's that?" he said, obviously startled by me.
"My name is Cacilla," I said, rather slowly.

"Hello, Cacilla!" he continued
"Can you help me?
Find these items,
And we will be free!"

I quickly agreed,
Holding a list of items in my hand.
I longingly thought of Neopia City,
Which now seemed a distant land.

An Ode to NeoHomes By Pheophinlover17

Sleeping on the ground
Was never too fun
As I wandered around
At night, I saw
Rich owners with NeoHomes
Why doesn't my owner have one?
Is she CHEAP?
While they have featherbeds
And priceless antiques
And Petpets with little red ribbons
Tied around their necks
I have dirt and mud and a doorstep
For my bed!

Finally! I am getting a home
But how annoying!
First you have to buy land
Then you have to build a room
When I FINALLY got inside it
It wasn't much different from the outside.
So we paid more money for
Wallpaper
And floors
And lighting
And insurance.
Now my owner's broke
I guess it's better
Than sleeping outside... right?

Meerca Chase By Beautifulcharade2

The Meerca stands at the starting line.
He surveys the flat, gray terrain.
People on all sides, cheering him on.
Their voices are muted, as he concentrates
on pushing away his fear.
Sweat pours down his face.
The whistle blows,
off he goes.
There is no danger yet,
he easily collects two, then three
Yellow Neggs.
Out of the corner of his eye,
he sees a Red Negg pop up,
then another, then another.
One pops up in front of him,
he makes a swift left,
he barely misses it.
His eyes are sharp,
where will the next one appear?
The playing field has become
a minefield of Red Neggs.
His tail grows longer, heavier,
he pushes on, harder, harder,
his mind filled with images
of a shiny gold trophy.
Left! Right! Up! Down!
Scramble under, jump over
dangerous, smirking Red Neggs.
Dust and sweat sting his eyes,
his muscles scream for relief.
He is oblivious to the scoreboard,
the crowd is not,
they are on their feet, chanting his name,
Meer-CA! Meer-CA!
A Fish Negg appears. The crowd goes quiet.
He pushes harder than he ever has,
his legs like lead,
his tail a long, heavy burden.
The Fish Negg is behind
an ominious chain of Red Neggs.
He spies an opening,
and strains toward it,
he has it, the crowd explodes.
In slow motion,
a Negg appears in front of him,
he can't escape quickly enough.
His foot catches it,
he plummets to the ground for an eternity.
He has failed...
but the crowd has not stopped cheering.
He raises his heavy head,
through tears of frustration he
sees the score...
He has won! He has beaten the record,
the trophy is finally his.
He is the Meerca Chase Champion.

The Painter By Adopt_and_paint

Sadly, again
I push open the door
And ask Dr_Death
“Are there any more?”
Mutely he points
To the rows in the back
New pets are abandoned,
Alas and alack

A Shoyru stares sadly
As I pass him by
But with a Level 10
An owner he’ll find
A sweet silly Uni,
So young and so new
And beautiful name
Is going for her too

I seek out the smallest,
The saddest, and oldest
The pets that are lonely,
And feel winds the coldest
In the damp and the dark
I look for them there
Their stories are sad,
And their heads are all bare
“The potion went wrong,”
Or “I’m not the best,”
They are told that they’re just,
“Not as good as the rest”

But I know far different,
And they’ll soon see the day
When an owner will whisk them
Off far, far away
A Healing Potion there,
And a Paint Brush for her
They smile, start to laugh,
And even some purr

For I am a painter,
With few Neopoints to spend
But I know I’ll be doing this
Until the end
Until all the pets
Are adopted and cared for,
I’ll always be here,
Taking care of the poor.

The Snowager By Poppet65

Since before the locals
Of Terror Mountain could remember,
The Snowager lived in the Ice Caves,
Kept as cold as December.
During the day
He sat upon his treasure,
To make sure its security
Was to every measure.
At night he slept
Unaware of the danger
Of travellers that would steal
From the grumpy old Snowager.

Once a brave Snow Aisha
Ventured into the lair,
His name was Kendrak
And he was not scared of his slayer.
In he ventured, very keen
That was the last time
He was ever seen.

Years later his brave young son,
Decided to explore the Ice Caves
As his father had once done.
With the help of his mentor,
He prepared and planned,
And off he went
After shaking Gradolf’s hand.

Cold and shaking,
Young Keblin entered the cave,
He took a deep breath
And told himself to be brave.
Tiptoeing around the corner
He saw a horrendous sight,
Keblin tried to stop himself
From screaming with all of his might.
The room became a prison, an icy hell
And Keblin couldn’t
Help but let out a yell.

With the sharp noise
The Snowager awoke,
And let out a bellow
That could wake dead folk.
The walls trembled, the ceiling shook
And dust fell from every nook.
The petrified Aisha
Ran without a backwards look.

So, keen travellers, don’t feel invited
To venture into places
Where your being is unrequited.
Please don’t try to be a winner,
Unless you want to end up
As the Snowager’s dinner.
