A Gormball Morning

'Tis a fair morning,
On a cloudless day
For a Gormball match
To be played!

Skill, strength --
They've got it all!
Fiery Ember
Starts with the ball.

A tentative throw
Caught lightly by
Kevin the Korbat,
Who's flying high.

With a confident flick
Of his arrow-like tail,
Kevin passes the ball.
Through the air it sails!

Thyassa the Chia
Strategically stalls
For three ticking seconds
Before chucking the ball.

It lands in the hands
Of laid-back Zargrold.
Coolly he spins it
Out of his hold.

Striped paws lean out
To grasp the Gormball.
Now it's Ursula's turn
To astonish you all!

Suspense thickens air
As she waits and waits
For five whole seconds!
Is it too late?

No, the Gormball has not
Gone splat -- not yet!
Brian the Scorchio's
On the spot next!

Brian smoothly passes
With a twitch of his brow.
How long will it be
'Til the ball goes KAPOW?

Next -- Gargarox Isafuhlarg,
His victory boded?
SPLASH! OH NO!
The Gormball's exploded!

Farvin retrieves the ball
And whizzes it about.
Round and round the ring
'Til all but one gets out.

The match is soon over
On this sunny morn.
Empty but for puddles,
The players now gone.

Gormball in Action

Emerald field, a sprawling plain,
A match fought to the end.
Whoever takes the trophy home,
To glory will ascend.
It isn't cash that drives this group,
Or fury, as some claim.
It's not ambition, pride, or greed,
It's all about the fame.

Thyassa, indigo of hue,
Determined, strong of heart.
Farvin, enigmatic, strange,
Uncanny, sly, and smart.
To the right fair Ember dwells,
Eyes burn like raging flame.
Next to her a hulking brute,
It's Gargarox, by name.

Ursula, the first to go,
She's soaked right to the skin.
Kevin is out, his dreams dashed fast,
Before much could begin.
Shimmering, the Gormball flies,
One choice made far too rash.
Held in paws a second long,
The fate is chosen... Splash!

Ember and the Gormball

Filled with newfound confidence
(From Faerie Festival),
Ember yearns to take a chance,
And play a game of ball.

A Gormball bearing icy water,
Passed silently and fast,
How long can Ember hold it for?
How long will Ember last?

Her fiery dress of brown and red,
Her eyes spark orange flame,
Gormball players focus hard,
To win this thrilling game.

Suspense hangs thickly in the air,
A long time spectators waited,
Round and round the Gormball went,
Their breath was still and baited.

Ember waits, her arms stretched out,
Determination in her eye,
And with a thrust the ball with speed,
Toward her it does fly.

She holds it one, she holds it two,
On her the Gormball lingers,
Then suddenly the Gormball pops,
Explodes between her fingers!

A Game of Gormball!

Grassy meadow, midday sky,
Players gather 'round.
Gormball brought to field of play,
Excited cheering sounds.
Eight opponents in the game,
Each aiming for the win.
Whistle blows, the ball is tossed,
Let the game begin!

Thyassa's first to take the ball,
He waits and casts it high.
Gormball's passed along the air,
To Brian, Scorchio sly.
Next is Gargarox Isafuhlarg,
Who's neither dim... nor slim.
Alas, he's paused a tad too long,
The Gormball bursts on him!

Alien Aisha, Farvin III,
He hesitates, then passes it.
Gormball whizzes to the next,
Ember, full of wit.
Following is Zargrold "cool,"
A Grundo hard to fool.
The ball explodes with mighty splash,
No longer is he cool!

And so it goes, this game of chance,
'Til only two remain.
Korbat Kevin, Farvin III,
Battling for the reign.
On Farvin, Gormball bursts at last,
Aisha grins without regret.
His helmet kept him dry, you see,
The other six are soaking wet!
