DRAIK DAY SPECIAL

The Dreaming Draik
By Happyhaz

As I glide through Brightvale skies
Alone, as is the norm,
I often wish I had the pow'r
To leave my brutal form.

For I'm a pet that others loathe,
And very few can take.
I'm born from sick and twisted minds:
I am a mutant Draik.

I'll always stay in vile shape,
Live like this, ever more.
My talons flex like blackened knives,
My spine, serrated saw.

My body coated in hardened flesh,
My skin a scabby crust.
A sudden glance can fast repel
And easily disgust.

Sharp whiskers line misshapen mouth
With yellow razor fangs.
Huge knobbly bones do stretch my skin,
Ripped shreds on wings must hang.

Incapable of making sound
For poison shrouds my tongue,
I let the Pteris have their song,
While mine must go unsung.

My eyes bulge so that veins protrude;
A terrifying glare,
And though I cannot speak at all,
They say themselves: Beware!

But as I soar back to my cave
Where none dare look inside
Alone in dark, no one sees me
And I regain my pride.

For when I'm here, then no one mocks,
My skin's not swampy brown.
Inside my head, it's like I'm royal,
I almost feel the crown.

When by myself, no one can judge
And I can reign supreme.
Who cares if I'm not beautiful,
As long as I can dream.

Tale of the Darigan Draik Egg
By _Razcalz_

Among a room of treasures,
A Draik Egg sits alone.
Oval with flawless curves,
Deepest purple tone.
Magnificent to outside eyes,
But woe to Draik within.
She's passed along collectors' hands,
Divided from her kin.

She longs to be with other Draiks,
To spread her wings and soar.
The egg doth trap her venturous soul,
Light of hope dims ever more.
To hatch her is a waste, they think,
An item so desired and rare.
She sobs and begs to be released,
But no one hears an egg's despair.

Weeks turn into months, years,
In the gallery she stays.
Upon a gleaming marble stand,
For lustful eyes to gaze.
She yearns to greet the world outside,
To see with curious eyes.
Confined within the violet shell,
She cries out to the skies.

Now you may be wondering,
How I've come to know this tale.
For unhatched Draiks are ne'er heard,
Behind their eggshell veils.
This Draik is an egg no more,
'Tis I who set her free.
At last she soars among the clouds,
A friend forever to me.

Draik of the Depths
By Dianacat777

In deepest realm
Beneath the sky
Of glitt'ring black
Waves, tumbling by
Stars flit amongst
The eb'ny glass
Trapped in water's
Soft caress
White does flicker
In frozen sea
Starlit surface
Masks eternal deep
Frigid waters
Of endless dark
Sunless, starless
Quite nigh unmarked
Coral sparkles
'Mongst waving plants
Glitt'ring, swaying
The ocean's dance

Something flickers
Ivory flash
One thrives beneath
The surface's glass

Lithest of frames
Spangled with stripes
Violet and cream
On iv'ry white

Fins flank his face
Bright fuchsia eyes
Crest adorns back
No wings to fly

Nimbly, he darts
Bubbles dance in his wake
Elusive, eternal
The Maraquan Draik.

A Vision of Ice
By Anjie

Glacial, the polar realm,
The haze of winter's chill.
Moments frozen firm in time,
For here, the world stands still.
Motion on the distant peak,
A creature perched on high.
Exquisite features so serene,
Turned to the endless sky.

Few do live to catch a glimpse,
Of vision, cast and cold.
Numerous the stories seem,
The tales of Draik told.
A creature formed from gelid blue,
Like Terror Mountain's sheen.
Illusive and exquisite beast,
Whose form is rarely seen.

Twisted structures formed of ice,
Do grace that lofty crown.
Cobalt tones embrace his form,
Entwining, twisting down.
Humbled, creature bows his head.
Aloft, he takes to flight.
Pallid sheen upon the ice,
As cold and still as night.

A Friendship on Draik Day
By Lily2b18

Swing the Yooyuball around,
Cringing as it won't rebound
And then, instead, stops on the ground,
In front of Cawley Embith.
He smiles at you and a smile is found,
You start to apologise but he makes a sound.
In his polite manner that's quite renowned,
He says "There's no one I'd rather play with."

Turnover after another, he's quite a sight
Practising well on into the night
Those Jelly Chias never did see flight
Such as that of the magnificent Draik.
You frown, and he says, "It'll be all right!
I think you're awesome, much to my delight,
I can tell that your future will be very bright,
And someday you'll make your big break."

So I kept along training until the day
When all of my troubles washed away.
He was right there with me along the way,
Saying we'll keep having fun 'til the end.
After all of this is done, he and I stay,
We talk about next year, the pros and cons weighed.
And finally, I get the chance to say,
"You're a great player, but an amazing friend."
