The Distinguished Professor Hugo Fairweather
By Anjie

"I do believe," Tonu declared,
"That we stand on the brink!"
He paused, his glasses sliding down,
And closed his eyes to think.
"An isle lost to present thought
Dwells far across the sea!
I say we make a journey there,
To seek what we may see!"

With bumbling hooves upon his coat,
Made of the finest tweed,
Hugo did cut a dashing form,
A charming sort indeed!
The mane was growing white with age,
Distinguished, his career.
And yet he rambled of the place,
To all who dared to hear.

Professor Hugo Fairweather,
Explorer, daring, brave!
New discoveries to seek,
Adventure did he crave!
Did Hugo find a hidden realm,
Or has he gone insane?
Mark my words, that Tonu shall,
Explore the seas again!

Faded Grey
By Silent_snow

Here you see a pet of old
Grey in spirit, harsh and cold,
Eyes that never recognise;
This is the grey pet's true demise.

He has no place to call his home;
He's doomed to solitude, to roam
Distant lands he may now see
But though he drifts, he is not free.

His history he'll tell you not.
No future does he think he's got.
He wanders on, does not expect
To find a place without neglect.

Eyes are bleary, skin is sagging,
Mouth not grinning, tail not wagging.
Forever dull, forever grey,
He's doomed to wait another day.

Far-off Fairground
By Candyblossoms

The clock strikes midnight,
The clowns start to scream,
Some may be excited,
But I hope it's all a dream.

There's the freaky guy,
Who runs the Coconut Shy,
There's also that little pest,
Who runs the strength test.

At first, I don't feel all that fine,
But suddenly something sends a chill up my spine,
There's something evil in the air,
Look carefully, tread softly, all beware.

The clock strikes six,
The clowns stop screaming.
I wake up in bed,
I was only ever dreaming.

Mystery Island Tiki Tour
By Mailiegirl

Surrounded by crystal waters
Is an island of mysteries
Where the flowers' scents are carried
In the soft, tropical breeze.

And when the sun beats down throughout the day,
You'll find there are many things to do --
The places natives choose to go
Will be the ones I'll show to you.

The beach is great for many things,
Maybe a picnic, swim, or tan,
Or a pleasant game of volleyball
On the beach's bright white sand.

The Techo Master runs a school,
But his wisdom passes to few alone.
He's the best to train for battle
And asks for naught but few codestones.

But if you prefer to be in shade,
Then go to the Lost City of Geraptiku.
The place is cool and devoid of sun,
But rumoured to be haunted, I caution you.

The night is filled with pleasantries;
The town gathers for drink and food.
They tell stories around the fire
And do traditional dances in costume.

Unfortunately it's time to go,
But please come back real soon.
I hope you've enjoyed the Tiki Tour
That I have given you.

Dragged to the Ray (A Neopet's Perspective)
By Tepoen321

I was scared out of my wits that day
When I was led trembling to the ray.
They told me to hold, oh, very still --
I wanted assurances it could not kill!

They told me nothing was known for sure,
Not even what colour would coat my fur.
My stats might go up or down, they said.
I was suddenly filled with growing dread.

They also said I might became male --
My response was a horrified wail!
Said my species might change with a smile;
I felt the whole thing was just vile!

I held my breath and closed my eyes,
Awaited the Lab Ray's horrid surprise.
I heard it humming, getting ready to fire.
I felt the rage of my rising ire.

It was over before I could think --
I opened my eyes and looked down to pink!
I turned my paw over and stared in disbelief,
Then I sighed showing my great relief.

For now I was better than ever before,
Painted a colour that would've cost more.
I was now as pretty as can be --
All because the ray zapped me!
