How to draw King Skarl : Printable Version

Start by drawing a small circle for the Kings head. Next, make a much larger circle beneath Skarl's head for his body. These two circles should overlap a bit.

Now, over the area where the two circles meet, draw a wide oval shape. Also, on the left side of the large body circle, sketch a small oval. On the right side of the King's body, make a little half-circle. These two shapes will eventually be Skarl's hands.

Give the King some feet to stand on by drawing two thin, flat ovals at the bottom of his body. Next, begin to fill in the King's form by making two wavy lines down the front of the body shape for his robes. These lines should extend behind his head and down to his feet as well. At this point, connect the shapes you drew for Skarl's hands to the lines you just made for his robes to form his arms. Finally, start giving his face a bit of detail by drawing his frowning mouth and his forehead, and then make two lines above Skarl's head for his Skeith ears.

Draw a line across the King's forehead to create his furrowed brow, and add a piece of hair to either side of his face. Finish drawing his robes, making sure to add a bit of fur to the cuffs of his sleeves. Last, separate his feet into three claws each.

Complete the other side of Skarl's ears and begin working on his facial features. Give him grouchy-looking eyes and a scrunched-up nose. Also, don't forget to draw his special royal medallion and his thick Skeith tail.

Add more detail to Skarl's ears, face, and clothing. Include the sharp teeth that come up from his lower jaw, and deepen his frown a bit. It's clearly one of the King's grumpier days. Finally, give his tail a few spikes and a pointed end.

It's now time to give your drawing lots of royal details! Add a fancy crown to the top of the King's head, and don't forget to include that signature fringe of hair across his forehead. Give his robes some luxurious fur trim, and make his medallion a bit more complex. Since the King is more famous for his eating habits than his grooming ones, add a bit of stubble to his chin.

Erase any extra lines you have left. Your drawing is almost finished!

Darken the King's pupils and a few other details, such as the small pattern on his medallion.

Now give your drawing some colour and shading to make it look extra special! You can use anything you'd like, from coloured pencils to a computer program. Your drawing of King Skarl of Meridell is now complete! Maybe you should try drawing a fancy banquet of food too, in case the King starts feeling hungry...
