How to draw an Elephante: Printable Version

Begin by drawing two circles, one on top of the other. Draw a cross shape through the top circle. This will act as a guide when you are adding the eyes, trunk, etc.

Next draw two circle at either side of your lower circle. Join them to the lower circle (your Elephante's body) as shown in the picture.

Add a small circle onto the bottom of the right side of your Elephante, this will form your Elephante's tail. Next draw a little wing shape onto the back of your Elephante. Lastly draw two circular shapes (slightly smaller than the feet) and join them to your Elephante's body like so. If you get stuck, just try to copy the image.

Now you need to add a little shape to your elephantes face, draw two curved lines along the left side of it's face to form the head and cheek. Then draw a curvy trunk shape with a little upside down heart shape on the end.

Erase your rough lines and you should be left with something similar to this. As you can see, your Elephante is really starting to take shape.

Now draw a circle in the middle of your Elephante's head. This will form the gem in the forehead. Draw two slightly bigger circles around this one. Join the gem to the back of the head with two curved lines like so. Next draw two almost triangular shapes on either side of the head. These will become your Elephante's ears. Add a little detail to each ear by added a curved line.

Now you can add some detail. Draw semi-circular shapes on around the feet and arms of your Elephante to form toes. Then draw two little lines on the end of your Elephantes trunk to creat nostrils. Add a curvy line to give your Elephante a cheeky grin. Lastly draw two circles on either side of the face to form pupils. Draw a larger, almost circular shape around the pupil and the eyes are complete!

Add a few lines on the mose, inside the ears, above the eye and on the legs. These will make your Elephante look more wrinkly and three dimensional. Don't forget to give the wing a feathery look by drawing little triangles along the edge. Do the same to tail and your Elephante is done.

All that is left to do is erase any extra lines and you should be left with something like this. If it didn't work first time, don't worry, just try again. It really does get much easier with practice.

If you really want to give your drawing a finished look, try adding some colour.
