Hello! You're probably here because you visited the Zapping Your Dream Pets Wishlist.

This page has the list of all of ZYDP's volunteer zappers, and instructions for anyone who wants to zap for ZYDP.

If you have the lab ray and would like to help us out, that's great! Just Neomail Star and your name will be added to this list of zappers.

If you have more than one lab ray, that's fantastic! However, to keep our list more simplified, we only list one account per zapper. We still appreciate zaps from all of your lab accounts, though!

News and Updates

So to make the list a lot easier to update and the check where your name is I have decided to make the list in alphabetical order (according to wishes granted). I have also added a "Last Updated" date which is also be a lot more convenient. Thanks

Instructions for Zappers

 Hopefully this isn't too boring for you to read through. ZYDP doesn't have any specific "requirements" for zappers, but these instructions should give you a general idea about what to do:

1. Neomail Star so that I can add your name to this list of zappers.

  • If you would like, Take one of our banners to show off on your userlookup/petpage/shop or where ever you want to put it! :) (Banners can be found here and at the bottom of the page.)

2. Get a Neopet to zap.
  • You can either get a pet from the pound or create one yourself, it doesn't matter.
  • It is best to choose a Well Named (WN) pet. This means that the pet's name doesn't have any numbers or underscores, as this is preferable to most people in neopia (yes and faerieland too ;) )
  • Also, it's best to choose a species of pet that is in high demand. For example, choose a Lupe or a Kougra instead of a Moehog or Mynci.
3. Zap your new lab rat until he/she gets a color zap.

4. Check the Wishlist to see if anyone wished for a pet with the same color/species combination that you just zapped.

  • If no one wished for the pet you zapped, keep zapping! Or, Neomail Star so your name can be put into the ZYDP Adoption Agency.

5. If one person wished for that pet, Neomail him/her to ask if they would like to adopt your pet.

6. If many people wished for that pet, you have two options:

  • Neomail every single person who wished for that pet and ask for applications. You can judge the applications yourself and choose the "best" owner.
  • Select one person, and Neomail him/her to ask if they would like to adopt your pet.
**Note: In general, the person at the bottom of each section (of people wishing for the same pet) has been on the Wishlist for the longest amount of time, although neomail who you think is the best owner! (If you come across any usernames that are frozen, or haven't been online for a long, long time, please Neomail Star (starrona)so that she can remove them from the Wishlist.)

7. Once you have sent your pet to its new owner, CONGRATS! :D You've done a really great thing!!

8.Neomail Star to let her know that you've sent someone a dream pet so that she can take that username off the wishlist, and add you to the Happy Endings Page!. :)
In your Neomail, please include:
* Name, color and species of the pet
* Username of the person on the Wishlist
 * Username of the account you sent the pet to (if different from the username on Wishlist; aka a side account)

Anyone who grants a wish using the wishlist please send the information above. (:

Just to clarify: In order for an adoption to count as a Wish Granted, you must send the pet to someone who was already on the Wishlist. If you find someone on the boards who says that your pet is their dreamie, and you give your pet to them, this will not count towards the ZYDP total. Also, you may not tell someone to add their name to the Wishlist AFTER you've given them a pet or set up an adoption. If you need clarification on this, don't hesitate to ask! :)

9.Lastly, whatever pet you zap is YOURS! You do not have to give them away. It's up to you to decide what you would like to do with your pet. (:

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Do I have to join the ZYDP guild to be a zapper?
A: No! Though joining the guild is highly recommended, the wishlist is an open resource that any Neopian can use to find a new home for their lab pets.

Q: What if I zap a pet and I decide that I want to keep it?
A: If you become a zapper, you are NOT obligated to give your pets away!! You can keep, trade, or adopt out your pets to anyone you'd like.

Q: Can I still add my name to the wishlist if I become a zapper?
A: Yes of course! Both pages are open to everyone, just read the rules! (:
