I hate this picture... but vote anyway or else Tomido will come after you.

Alone- the most feared word in the English language."

You walk into a room and are surrounded by darkness. A single candle is lit in the corner of the room, and the only other thing in the room is a bean bag chair and a door. You open the door and step outside, onto the green grass. There is a swimming pool just to your left and up ahead a little, and as you gaze at the moon's reflection on the surface of the water you hear something. You turn and see a small CD player. It's volume is turned down low, but when you come closer you can hear a song playing. You walk over to it to turn up the volume, but just as you do something moves, and dark eyes scan your body before a figure appears, silhouetted by moonlight.

The creature turns toward the moonlight, and as you take a step closer you see that it is a Jetsam, but that is all you can really tell in the poor lighting, other than that her pelt is a very dark shade.

It turns and faces you once again, but not before going over to the CD player and hitting the pause button. "What?" comes a voice, deep and steady, though still feminine in a way. "Look, I'm not really in a mood to talk. I'm in even less of a mood to listen." the Jetsam says plainly.

As you turn to leave, her voice reaches your ears again. "Wait." You look to her and she gestures for you too come closer and sit near her. "You can stay if you like. As long as your not too much of a pest." You nod your head slightly as crickets chirp softly in the background. "Well, my name is Yukari, though my friends used to call me Yuki(Yoo'-kee). Officially my name is 'Yukari_Miharu', but that's just for Neopian governmental purposes."

Anyway," she continues, "I came to abide here recently, though not by my own will, you can be sure of that. I live with three other neopets and one human: Storm, a peophin, Musica, an acara, Cimi, a tuskaninny, and Beth, my 'caretaker'."

"Though the house is full, I spend most of my time alone. I don't really fit in with them and their crazy antics. They're never just sitting around talking or something, they're fighting over who gets to be 'it', or having a belching contest." Yukari paused and rolled her cat-like eyes as she let out a small sigh at the very thought of such 'silly' things. "I guess I'm grateful that they saved me and gave me a home, but I long to return to open waters. I cannot though, for my tail is badly injured and I can no longer swim with the skill that I once did. The story behind all this is a long and unpleasant one, and one I'd rather not tell."

"I spend most of my time in this swimming pool, seeing how I'm not exactly built for solid ground. Doing nothing. Just sitting by myself. So I have no friends, no family, not really anything worth living for." She paused again, appearing to be deep in thought. "Well, I guess there is one thing. Tomo, come here!" She looked toward the pool, waiting for something to happen. "Tomido!" Still nothing. "Tomodachi Midori, get over here!"

After a moment of nothing but silence Yukari went over to the pool. She looked into the water, then scooted along the edges, stopping once she was next to what looked like a dark blob. She beckoned you to come closer and take a better look and upon your arrival you saw that it was actually a dark green Reptillior. It had long white fangs and lighter green spots covering its back, and it's long body was coiled up tightly.

"This is Tomodachi Midori, or Tomido, my petpet." Yukari said in a hushed voice. "That means 'green friend' by the way. That's what he is to me, my one friend. He never leaves my side, he's over-protective, and in a way, he understands me. He was unwanted, lost, sick, and cold, so I saved him. Storm, one of my housemates, was going to kill him one day when he wandered into the back yard, but I realized that Tomido was no threat and stopped her. I nursed him back to health and gave him a home, because I couldn't watch another like myself suffer. Everybody hates him because he's a bit creepy looking, but he's actually pretty harmless." She smiled and stroked Tomido lightly on the back, it was the first time you'd seen her smile the whole time.

After a minute of watching this strangely cute pair, Yukari finally broke the silence. "There's nothing more for you to know." You nod and turn to leave, and as you do so Yuki goes over to her original spot by the CD player. As you're walking away something catches your ear, and you turn back, searching for the source of the sound. A song is playing quietly, so you come closer to hear better. You can just barely hear Yukari's voice singing along, as if it has some special meaning..

I couldn't tell you why she felt that way,
She felt it everyday.
And I couldn't help her,
I just watched her make the same mistakes again.

What's wrong, what's wrong now?
Too many, too many problems.
Don't know where she belongs,
where she belongs.

She wants to go home, but nobody's home.
It's where she lies, broken inside.
With no place to go, no place to go
To dry her eyes,
Broken inside.

Open your eyes and look outside,
find a reason why.
You've been rejected,
and now you can't find
what you left behind.

Be strong, be strong now.
Too many, too many problems.
Don't know where she belongs, where she belongs.

She wants to go home, but nobody's home.
It's where she lies,
Broken inside.
With no place to go, no place to go
To dry her eyes.
Broken inside.

Her feelings she hides.
Her dreams she can't find.
She's losing her mind.
She's fallen behind.
She can't find her place.
She's losing her faith.
She's fallen from grace.
She's all over the place.
Yeah,oh

She wants to go home, but nobody's home.
It's where she lies, broken inside.
With no place to go, no place to go
To dry her eyes.
Broken inside.

She's lost inside, lost inside...oh oh
She's lost inside, lost inside...oh oh
